Chapter 77 - A New Line of Methodry

Draxus walked through the hallway to head towards a certain room inside the headquarters of Santuria. He was leisurely walking alone as he gazed out on the garden from inside the building. It was being maintained nicely by nuns and priests who seemed to have been showing smiles as they watch the flowers bloom. "Quite a peaceful daily life huh...?" Draxus muttered under his breath just as he continued walking through the area. He then remembered the words he said to Niloufer while muttering it almost inaudibly. "I, Draxus Heimdal Kingfisher, have somewhat attained a close and wish for an intimate relationship with her... Jeebus, what have I been saying?" Draxus smiled but he completely understood himself when he clearly said those words to the pope. "Guess I have really gone through that major incident... It's a good thing now that I have a harem of my own..." Draxus reminisced the harsh memories that he went through and shrugged his shoulders. "Well, I still have to take care of those girls." He simply smiled as he continued to walk through the hallway. Eventually, he arrived to his room a little bit before breakfast. He found all six members of the party that he intended to discuss his current findings.

"Finally, you're here, we've been waiting for quite a bit." Audrey turned her gaze to the door that just opened up with Draxus entering his own room. He simply laughed a little before thanking Olivia. "Thanks Livi..." Olivia smiled in return. "Here to help you every time Drax." Draxus nodded and changed his expression to a serious look, he then began to explain what had happened. "First of all, I fought against the hero without magic. And if I have to evaluate, he was pretty weak and inexperienced. However, he's still a threat since you can't block attacks with his abilities. He can speed up, strengthen, and even grow larger depending on how he uses his magic. But in reality, he isn't the threat that we're going to face, it's a person called 'Iapetus'. He's known to be a priest that moves around with Axel, but both the hero and the priest have disappeared somewhere and never came back. The weapon Iapetus had was borrowed, but it had outstanding power to control time." Audrey immediately twitched in reaction. "Time magic you say? Is it within your scope of concept magic?" Draxus nodded in response. "Yes, if time magic isn't a concept inside me, then I wouldn't have been able to use some of these fortune cards. But even with [High Priestess]'s [Future Sight], I was unable to win against that person. One time stop or slow from the dirk will get you in major trouble, so I may have to resort to finally use one of the highly risky cards." Olivia was the one who twitched in reaction this time, causing her stare on Draxus to turn from a proud smile into worry. "What do you mean...?" Those words that came out from Olivia's mouth were heard by the group, some were unbothered, but they had slightly worried expressions which made Gwen, who noticed last, feel just as worried as Olivia. "I'll be using the [Moonlit Memory]. I don't know what I might have to use, but seeing as Iapetus said something about watching me the whole time, I can't speak about the abilities upfront right now..." Olivia shook her head as she had both her hands held Draxus by the arm. She looked up to his face who had a slightly melancholic expression. "Then, what about compensation!? Doesn't it sound like your memories will be sealed?!" Gwen immediately realized the danger of Draxus forgetting about her due to one use of the tarot card. She immediately did the same thing as Olivia except on the other arm. "I-We don't want you to forget us..." She looked down as Draxus turned his gaze on her. He then smiled wryly as he began to explain. "Look, I'm only accessing the memories and ability of certain things, once it's done, those memories that I accessed will be sealed. I'm suspicious about this card for having no compensation even..." The two girls immediately let out a small voice as if they had realized it. But they still didn't let go of Draxus as he simply decided to accept what's happening. He then remembered something very important and decided to tell them about it before he forgets once more. "Ah! Before I forget! I had found the source of the barrier." Audrey immediately widened her eyes as she could finally use magic after the source of the barrier has been dealt with. "It's in a badge worn by that guy. From his words, I can tell that there's an even stronger person somewhere in this country and is waiting to make a move. It's likely that they're moving in two days time at midnight, but we have to prepare for them nonetheless. The plan goes out as usual, but for every extension you guys break, I will try to break the source of the barrier. Gwen..." Gwen tilted her head as she was suddenly called out on the discussion. "Please sing whenever you sense the magic to disarrange... I want to be able to fight with my all... I'll protect you from harm..." After receiving a positive answer from the worried Gwen, he turned his gaze to Olivia. "Livi, please make sure that they survive alright?" Olivia smiled as she gave a proper answer to Draxus's request to ensure that they return home to the Preeliance castle alive. "Alright, everyone is to enjoy their free time in their own way. But before that, let's all have breakfast." Everyone let out an excited shout before heading to breakfast. They had a nice hearty meal despite the suspicious hero Axel, and his attendants had disappeared. After eating breakfast, Draxus decided to go for a stroll outside the headquarters. He received the permission from Niloufer as the whole group then separated into a few groups. Olivia and Gwen went around with Pauleen and Juniper, while Audrey and Maria walked around together. Jay had some questions with Draxus as he asked for a little bit of training.

"Draxus, can I ask you to train me a little bit?" Draxus was walking along with Jay as he fed himself with a skewer that he bought from the store. 'Sure, when we get back there. But for now, get some lessons from me here in terms of your combat skills. So, what do you want to ask first?" Draxus was chewing the beef while talking, causing some saliva to leave his mouth as he talked. Jay had an internal retort but he decided to just keep that thought to himself. "First, I feel like I have been lacking strength, so I went and did some curls earlier. The person you faced had tremendous strength that I can't even hold up the giant sword he brought down with one hand." Draxus pondered for a bit before he saw a small cut on Jay's shoulder. "But you slowed it down quite a bit huh?" Jay nodded while keeping a slightly disappointed look on himself. "Well, I can't blame you for that, he had gravity assisting him in pushing down his Zweihander so you were in a clear disadvantage from the start. But what you're doing is already correct. Just make sure that you have a good grip on your weapon." Draxus pointed his finger to the sword that was on Jay's hip, he gestured him to unsheathe the blade and show him his grip. Jay held the handle tightly which then Draxus examined carefully. "No good, it's too tight and could damage the bone in your hands if they receive a few attacks from above... How about moving your index finger and thumb a little bit like this." Draxus held up his hand like he's holding a grip. "For example, like this." Draxus demonstrated it to Jay on how to handle such things properly. While strolling, Draxus even showed actual examples after bringing out the sword with the indigo blade. "You follow it like this aight? Try getting used to that grip for now." Jay nodded and thanked Draxus before using his equipment to fly on top of a roof to begin his practice. "Jeez, Audrey's got a good guy for once. Hope lil'sis doesn't get heartbroken again aye?" After a little bit of monologue, Draxus went around the city to look for shops that he could find useful.
