Chereads / Enchanters Phantasm / Chapter 8 - Luna

Chapter 8 - Luna

In an unknown land far far away. In a rich forest with trees that have unimaginable size and height, lies a city. A city filled with glittering dust that makes their surroundings glow despite living in a forest where a ray of sunlight didn't pierce through. The residents of this forest are rather strange but have fair faces that matched their long pointy ears and glowing white skin. There are young once over them that dashed through streets with their fluttering wings.

In the center of this city lies a humongous tree that outmatched the other giant trees around. Its leaves are equal to a man's length that glows every time a light shines on them. But that's not the only thing that makes this tree special for on top of it built a castle where a girl beyond everyone's reached lives.

"I'm bored." She sleazily said.

Her white long hair swayed when the wind blew as she stared into the view at the veranda of their castle.

The maid that stood beside her, catch a leaf where the scenery that she'd been looking at earlier carved.

The mouth of the maid beside her opened so as her eyes as she looked at the portrait.

"Even I already know how talented you are. This is still amazing, your highness."

The maid said in awe.

The young lady just sigh as she stared her bored eyes to the horizon.

"If I'm that amazing how come I can't fly yet. Staying in the castle is so boring I wanted to fly somewhere far away."

"If I may speak my mind, it's probably because you never attended any of the training sessions the queen prepared for you."

She looked in the maid's direction.

"Eh, but other people learned it by themselves. I even know someone that can do amazing things without anyone teaching him."

"That is because you're a special one, your highness. Every part of your body is, that's why you need a lot of concentration unlike anyone else."

The Princess looked back to the horizon while pouting her cheeks.

The maid sighed as she saw this. She put the leaf in front of the princess to match the view in front of her.

"Your Highness, if you really want to, it's not gonna be hard for you."

She looked at it for a moment before swaying it away.

'Of course, I knew it. If I put my mind to something I can do it a hundred times better than anyone else. But if they're only going to use me as a weapon then I'd rather stay the way that I am. I don't really have the problem of helping my kind but helping them means helping the humans who were the reason why I lost all of the people that important to me. That's the only thing I can't do.'

When the princess got bored into waiting she stood and walked towards the archive of the castle. She took one book and started reading it. While she was in the middle of it, some guards walked rapidly as they walked towards the castle halls.

"The Eight Rays of Light gather once again?"

"Yeah, what's more, is all of them made their appearance."

Two guards conversed. The princess placed a bookmark on the page she was reading before she rushed to the door. She hid in the corner of it.

"How long was it again since their last meeting?"

"Probably about three decades."

The princess, who was wondering the same started counting on her fingers. The last time the leaders of the Rays, gather was when she was little. That time there are only five of the Eight Rays attended. For all of them to gather this has to be big news.

"What could be the reason why they had a sudden meeting?"

The other guard looks from side to side before speaking.

"They're going to talk about closing the gate to the future."

When she heard that, the book she was carrying dropped to the floor. The guard heard the sound of the book. They rushed to the library entrance but before they can enter the door the princess come out of it while glaring with her brilliant eyes.

"Princess!" both of them shrieked.

"Did you… hear?!"

"Where's my mother?!"

The two guards looked at each other.

Even she's the princess after the king passed away and her mother become the new ruler. For some reason, the queen never let her daughter see her unless the queen wanted to.

"Her Majesty's probably at the castle chamber."

The princess glared more, then fairy dust surrounded them that even cackled over time.

"I can't control my powers but that's more threatening you know. I may accidentally use it to blast this castle, not this entire kingdom."

The soldiers gritted their teeth and dropped to their knees.

"We apologize your highness. But the queen forbids us from giving you information about her whereabouts. We'll accept any punishment you gave but please spare the kingdom."

The two soldiers beg. After one of them said that the dust slowly disappeared.

"Thank you, your highness."

They raised their heads. Both of them surprised themselves when they saw the princess.

She's in tears… well she's very cute to explain. The two soldiers blushed for a while but they panicked after.

"Princess… please don't be like this."

"You so mean. I just wanted to see my mother."

"Please your highness… don't use your tears to force us."

That didn't stop her instead she tear up more and more.

"That is enough." A woman spoke from their right side.

They all looked that way.

"Mother!"

"Your majesty!"

A woman walked towards them. She has golden hair that shines every time the sunlight runs through each and every strand. Her eyes were as brilliant as the princess is.

Both of their eyes looked at each other before she looked to the guards.

"Leave us."

The two bowed before they get away.

When the two guards disappeared from their vision the princess approached her mother.

"Mother, is it true that you're going to close the gate?"

Without batting an eye, the woman answer.

"Yes. So as the gate on the future."

"But what about Finn!?"

The queen closed his eyes and turn around.

"Are we done here? Then I'm leaving."

"No, we're not done yet!" She yelled as she stepped forward. "Finn's our family, your son, my brother! How come you can just abandon him like that!"

She shouted but that didn't stop her mother from walking away.

She can't do anything but watch the growing distance between her and her mother.

The almost six-hour discussion comes to an end with the final decision of closing the gate and abandoning those who stayed at the other side of it. That includes Finn Alinac, the prince of the fairies and a member of the Eight Rays of Light.

"Are you sure you're fine with this decision your majesty? Your son will be gone and this might distance your relation with your daughter."

Two women who were both have a face of a goddess stroll over the hall of the castle.

One of them is the queen, the other has forest green hair that is braided on both sides if her face.

"I don't want this either. It breaks my heart to abandon my son, especially knowing how this event will affect my daughter. But given the current situation, we were in. Were left with only this choice."

the queen said with a downcast head.

"Sorry, your majesty. If only the king—"

"Don't even think of that. The king saved you for a reason. That reason already proved to us what we've built so far. So don't feel bad about it.

The woman nodded. "Thank you, your majesty. But I'm sure that losing his father is the reason why you couldn't face her."

the queen silenced. The woman looked away into the sky.

"How much are we gonna keep enduring this? We already lost many, and made other people suffer. All of it for just a little fib of hope."

The green-headed woman said and sighed.

But the queen kept on staring up in the sky, wondering. "Red?"

They parted ways at the end of the hall but the queen can't take his eyes off the scarlet sky.

When the green-haired woman walked away from the queen, a soldier rushed towards them.

"Commander! Something happened! Come down at the tree of life!"

The green head woman followed the soldier so as the queen who overheard their conversation. They headed to the end of the road. The green-headed woman and the soldier jumped off the road while the queen summoned her wings then fly.

The two glide quickly down to the tree slicing in the wind. As they were halfway to the tree's body both of them summoned their wings. There are other fairies waiting including the other members of the Eight Rays of Light.

The queen arrived later before them. Her eyes widened as he stared towards the tree.

"The wish fruit is missing."

They all stared immobile in front of the tree.

This side of the tree is heavily guarded that no one should be able to get near it.

"How did this happen?!"

The green-headed woman said. But as she finished speaking she noticed the underlying darkness in the surrounding.

"It's because the surroundings become dark all of the sudden. We only get our eyes off it for a moment but before we knew it the Wish Fruit."

The soldier explained. When she heard that the queen flew up above the trees. As they reached the clouds not just the forest but even the sky is dark and the bright yellow sun become red when the moon covered it.

"Eclipse?"

the green head woman said. The other fairies followed after her.

"Find Luna!"

"Luna? But Why?"

"She's the one who did this, I'm sure of it."

As the queen ordered a huge portion of their army up in the air, and into the depths of the forest. Their gallant form revealed as they covered the sky with their glittered wings, and illuminated the dark forest with their shining dust.

The queen and the Commander of the Rays waited in the castle chamber. Soon the place got crowded with fairies whose there to report. After they made their salute to the queen the fairies started to state their findings.

"According to her maids, Princess Luna, was in a hurry when she left her room earlier. She said that she was just going out of the Enkan Forest. They demanded to go with them but she seemed to be in a very bad mood. We already have soldiers searching for her over there."

The queen looked at the woman.

"Don't worry your majesty. Just assume for now that she's just out to visit the humans."

When the fairy stopped talking, someone pushed the door open.

"My apologies for barging in your majesty, but I'm here to report something that you'll surely not gonna like." A fairy with glasses entered.

He looked at his back then a fairy entered.

He bowed to the queen.

"I'm one of the fairies assigned to help the human soldiers guard the portal." the fairy kneel. "On behalf of all the guards of the portal, I offer you our deepest apologies for our idiocy."

The fairy on glasses stepped forward.

"The Princess get to them earlier. She said that you, your majesty ordered to sent an army to Earth and get Prince Finn back. They believed it because the princess said that this is what the sudden meeting of the Eight Rays of LIGHT is all about. They eventually realized that it's all a lie but the princess already disappeared from their sights."

After hearing it the queen hold on to her aching head.

"Y- Your majesty!"
