"So your latest attack is called BiuJee, is it?" asked Kiba. He rummaged through Rada's memories and understood what the concept of this technique was.
"Yes, in my world it is also called the Finger Jab," replied Rada nodding.
"A fearsome blow, but at the same time risky, no doubt about it" said Kiba in a serious tone.
"It's only used in extreme cases, I didn't expect to use it in such a situation" Rada looked thoughtful as he spoke.
The BiuJee or Finger Jab, was a technique that came from Wing Chun, an ancient Chinese Martial Art. It was a lethal technique in his world, which even in many disciplines had been declared as forbidden.
The aim of this technique was to pierce the opponent's eyes like a spear. The fingers were subjected to harsh and painful exercises in order to make them hard as steel. For this reason it was only used in cases of extreme necessity.
On Earth, the laws of society forbade the use of violence, but that did not mean that there was no violence. Especially in ancient times, it was thought that this technique was often used by those who practised it.
The art of war and combat in ancient China were subjects that fascinated him greatly. Among the multitude of stories and myths he read, he found many similarities with the world where he was now.
Could it be that they had some connection? This thought stimulated his imagination, but he quickly shook it out of his head, the situation did not allow it.
"I guess you have the glove to thank, without it, I don't think you would have come out on top," the pup looked down at his right hand again.
"Yeah, I didn't expect Gwir's glove to have such power at all," the boy said, stunned by the wonders of the glove.
"There is still much we do not know, perhaps even your Wise Master did not know of its true power," the pup reiterated. There was a tinge of sarcasm in his words when he mentioned the Elder.
As they took a break, Kiba had already extracted the python's core.
"So this is the python's core," Rada said.
He took the core in his hand and looked at it with eyes full of wonder, the core gave off a dark grey glow.
"Out of misfortune we have made a great fortune," said Kiba nodding.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm willing to bet it was the leader of the area, with a core like that you should be able to win the test," said the pup with his usual disinterested manner, the test was worthless to him.
"Oh, great! But are you sure you don't want this for yourself? Maybe it could be useful to you."
Rada was not a greedy person, despite his modest beginnings he had grown up in a family with sound principles. The core was important to the test, but the growth of his trusty companion was far more important to him.
"Forget it, if I wanted to, this prince would have absorbed it long ago."
But Kiba refused, settling back down to sleep under his companion's smiling face.
Sometimes there were even specific conditions for one creature to absorb another's core, such as bloodline. But Rada suspected that the cub had rejected the nucleus because it hated the python to death.
This left him speechless, but at the same time he couldn't help but be amused.
Not far from them, Evan's envoy Encar, who was in charge of observing Rada's movements, had a completely stunned look on his face.
"Wha... what did my eyes see???"
The scene of the young man piercing a huge snake still lingered in his mind.
Encar was a very experienced soldier, one glance was enough for him to understand the disparity in level between Rada and the python. At first, he was almost tempted to help him, but he changed his mind soon afterwards.
The young man in front of him had not only survived, but had also managed to defeat a royal python, one of the most fearsome creatures in the entire forest, with his own hands to boot.
"Who the hell is this guy? The commander will find it hard to believe..."
Immediately afterwards Encar disappeared into thin air.
In the meantime, panic broke out on the other side, and one of the staff ran with a shocked face towards the direction of the judges.
"Commander, something seems to have happened in the confines of the trial site," a soldier whispered in Evan's ear.
"Um? Tell me."
The young commander's ears pricked up as his expression grew more serious.
"What did you say!?"
Suddenly Logar's voice shook the air like a thunderclap, his expression was black, a myriad of thoughts flashed through his mind, his heart was in turmoil.
"Ca-captain clan I swear by what I hold dearest in the world that it is the truth!"
The man trembled at Logar's reaction.
"In the place Lucas manned there were traces of blood and footprints, they looked like wolf prints, but they were very large indeed!"
The rest of the village seniors were drawn to Logar's shouts.
"Head of Bran family what news has shaken you to the point of having such a reaction?" asked one of the judges.
Aaron Baum approached along with others.
"We must raise the alarm, unknown creatures have killed one of our staff and infiltrated the place of trial," said Logar in a grave tone.
The news shocked those present, Aaron Baum remained silent as his expression gave anything but.
"But Headman Bran the trial has already begun, plus no one is allowed to enter the place of trial other than the young men attending" said one of the old judges in a serious tone.
"In addition, it is not unusual for beasts to have entered the forest,' continued another of the old men.
"Obviously what happened to poor Lucas pains us about this unfortunate occurrence. However, Head of the Bran family, I find it quite ridiculous to stop the trial for something like this. Please don't tell me you are doing this for your daughter, as head of the village you should be impartial.
Another rough-looking elder stood in front of Logar.
"I have my reasons for wanting to stop the trial, and if it's what I think it is, it would be better to raise the alarm now!"
Logar's expression became increasingly unwatchable. Being the head of the most distinguished family in the village, Logar's words had their own weight. However, there were other families who had created a council, which formed a real coalition that acted as an opposition.
But speaking of which, one also had to wonder, if there was a council besides the head of the village, what was the role of the Village Elder?
Logar's words left those present with doubts and they did not fail to put a spoke in his wheel.
"What do you mean?"
Aaron Baum interrupted his silence.
"That the creatures that have infiltrated may have come from the Forest of the Howling!"
Logar could hardly contain his anger, despite the dangerous situation they were still arguing as if it was nothing.
His words were followed by derisive looks.
"Householder Bran I see you're in a joking mood today!"
One of the elders laughed at Logar's words, but Aaron Baum's expression was somewhat troubled instead.
"Householder Bran is right, the trial must be stopped!"
The young commander Evan's voice reached among those present.
"Are you commander of the same opinion as well?" the elders looked towards him surprised.
"One of my men has confirmed that the tracks of one of the creatures that entered the forest is particularly different from the others," he said.
"How different?" asked a doubtful elder.
"His tracks change shape as they advance, becoming more and more human-like!" the young commander explained.
Silence fell again among those present, the air grew heavy. Such a thing was unheard of, but all present were men of the world and experience. They knew that a creature capable of taking human form was no ordinary creature.
"The rehearsal is cancelled, sound the alarm immediately, women and children take refuge within the village!" Logar waited no longer and immediately gave orders to his subordinates.
