Chapter 17 - Towards the Elder's house

After making sure no one was behind her, Rei left Rada and Cody's hands.

"What the heck! Can anyone know why run away like that?" the boy asked.

"Big Sis I can't run anymore..." poor Cody gasped as if out of breath.

"You! Do you have any idea what you did! Especially how the hell you did it!" Rei pointed her finger at Rada, she was quite upset about what had happened.

"Huh? Are you talking about that guy? He was just a bully" Rada spoke in his usual disinterested tone as he took little Kiba from Cody's arms.

"It may have seemed like nothing to you big brother, but I assure you it was incredible!" Cody's eyes sparkled with reverence.

"Unfortunately, there will be repercussions for what happened..." said Rei somberly.

Rada turned to Rei and waited for heh to continue. "Alcas is part of one of the two most important families in the village."

"I guess one is the Bran family, as for the other?" asked Rada.

"The other is the Baum family, the family that Alcas is a part of."

Continuing: "The Baum's have a history as old as the Bran's, it is said that their ancestor, one of the founder Alderan's most trusted men, helped greatly in the founding of the village."

"Sis we need to talk to the Elder about this," Cody said worriedly.

"Yes, surely he will know what to do" replied the sis.

The boys thus, walked in the direction of the Elder's house.

"Big brother, can you tell me what was that move you made earlier?" meanwhile Cody couldn't hold back his curiosity.

Rei also looked towards Rada waiting for an answer.

"It's called Pak-Sao, it's a technique used in the martial art I practice," replied Rada.

"Wow! Big brother I didn't know you were a cultivator!" said Cody.

"Cultivator? Well...something like that" Rada had read many Novels.

The cultivators they talked about in this world, seemed to be not much different from the ones he knew, he was very curious about that.

With a nostalgic expression on his face, he found himself thinking about those days spent together with his dear master. Months and months of slapping and punching before he was able to learn that technique properly. For others they might have been memories to forget, but for him they were precious memories that he always held in his heart,

"I wonder what the kids must be doing..." Rada turned some thoughts to his training partners as well.

His thoughtful and nostalgic look, made Rei's cheeks blush inexplicably.

"Big Sis?" Cody called out to his sister who looked as if she was bewildered.

"Huh? Y-yes what is it?" Rei snapped back.

"Is everything okay? Why is your face red?" her little brother asked naively.

"Oh?" Rada looked towards Rei.

"What nonsense are you babbling about! It's normal that it's red, we've been running a lot!" explained Rei hastily.

She quickened her pace, leaving Cody and Rada behind, unaware of what was going through her head.

(There must be a reason why the Elder wanted Rada to stay, does it have to do with what happened today?) Unconsciously Rei turned in Rada's direction, he was talking friendly to her brother.

(It's really a mystery...) she thought.

Her brother Cody hardly ever connected with anyone, he was very reluctant to make friends, he spent most of his time alone reading books or studying with the Elder.

However, with Rada he didn't seem to have any problems, maybe it was because he saw in him the older brother he never had, he thought.

Seeing him talking to someone who wasn't a member of her family inspired happiness in her.

"Um? Are you okay?" asked Rada, smiling.

"Mm!" Rei nodded with a radiant smile that displaced him for a few moments.

(Hey hey, this tomboy is a very beauty...) he thought to himself.

The girl's radiant smile was a pleasant surprise, he was hypnotized for some time before recovering, he stopped looking at her, so as not to make her uncomfortable.

After walking for some time, the three boys arrived at the Elder's residence.

"We're here!" said Rei energetically.

"Wow!" Rada's eyes went wide.

The residence wasn't overly large, but it was simply perfect in its form, the entire surroundings were breathtaking.

In front of them was a very fine gate, which was supported by majestic trees that continued to surround the house, inside they could see beautiful flower beds of many different colors, it looked like a rainbow had landed on them.

"The Village Elder's house isn't the biggest, but it's certainly by far the most beautiful big brother, what you see is just the front!"

Cody gave a few explanations, reserved the best for later, there was anticipation in his eyes.

Rei opened the gate and advanced towards the house with the two in his wake.

"Elder, we are Rei and Cody, we brought Rada" the girl raised her tone of voice.

"Oh, you're finally here, taking your time I see, come on don't just stand there come in!"

From inside the house, the Elder's voice was vibrant, it could be heard distinctly from far away.

Rei and Cody didn't mind, it was a habitual thing for them, but Rada, although silent, was amazed.

He stayed for a few moments to observe the door, although he could not see what was happening, he felt as if a mysterious force was moving the door that closed behind them.

Looking away from the door, Rada turned around and looked inside the Elder's house.

Everything was tidy and well cleaned, there was nothing particularly extraordinary that caught his attention except for one thing, books, a great deal of books.

"Come big brother!" Cody grabbed Rada's hand with anticipation and dragged him through the house, the direction was the back of the house, Rei followed the two smiling. They found themselves back outside the house and Rada once again was stunned at the extraordinary scenery in front of him.

"I know I've said this before but... it's really amazing!"

In front of him was a verdant landscape that framed a beautiful lake, it was like a mirror, so clear that it even reflected the sky.

Behind the Elder's house there was a real little paradise, untouched, far from prying eyes.

Rada closed his eyes and breathed in the clean air that surrounded him.

"So big brother do you like it?" asked Cody.

"Like crazy! I could stare at this show forever and never get tired of it," said Rada enthusiastically.

"Well, maybe not forever."

Not far from them a man with a fishing pole in one hand and a bucket in the other arrived in front of the youngsters .

"But we can say that from now on my home will be your home too son" at that moment the Elder's words didn't give Rada much to think about.

Cody and Rei, on the other hand, were greatly surprised.
