"Spiritual bonding?" asked Rada.
"When you met, did anything special happen?" the Elder asked again.
At that moment, Rada thought about his first meeting with the puppy, suddenly a scene appeared to him like a flash.
"When I first picked him up, he stared straight into my eyes, his eyes shone like a starry sky, at the same time, I felt like peering into his soul, it's hard to explain..." his gaze was as if lost in the void, he was reflecting on that particular moment.
It was something that impressed him a lot, but he had no idea if it had something to do with the connection the teacher was talking about.
An inexplicable silence fell in the room, Rei and Cody looked at Rada with wide eyes, while the Elder didn't hide his astonishment, the old man's thick eyebrows rose.
The young man replied to their glances with a doubtful look, he thought for a moment that he had said something wrong.
Suddenly, "Big brother you're really amazing..."
Cody shook his head as he was exasperated, but he was still smiling, big brother was really full of surprises, the young boy thought.
"Oh yeah?" Rada continued to be puzzled.
This time it was Rei who took the floor, saying, "What you told us about is something really special."
In Rei's gaze there were complicated emotions contained, once again the boy in front of him proved to be somewhat mysterious. What were his origins? Where did he really come from? Questions upon questions overlapped in the girl's mind.
"Very special, my boy!" spoke the Elder.
His eyes showed great approval for the pupil.
"You must know that there are countless people who form bonds with creatures, some of them very special, this bond is called "Spiritual Bonding."
Such a bond allows the spirit of the human to resonate with the spirit of the creature, depending on the type of bond and resonance, the human gets different benefits, unlike the creature who depending on the situation finds himself a slave to it."
"Slave?" Rada looked at the puppy in his arms for a moment.
What kind of bond was there between him and the puppy? Somehow he felt something special between them, however he didn't think it was something as one way as a bond between master and slave.
"Master why should it be special in our bond?" asked Rada after a few moments of thought.
"Let's start from the beginning, I already said there are many types of bonds, the most well known are those obtained through: Submission, Hereditary or even rarer, of Blood.
The spiritual bond of Submission, as the name implies, occurs through the surrender of the creature with whom you want to form the bond, it is the one most used by slave traders.
The spiritual bond of Inheritance occurs when a bond between a creature and a human is passed to a family member of the human, is mostly used by the families of the nobles.
The Blood spiritual bond is the rarest of the three and the most dangerous, it only occurs through the exchange of blood between the human and the creature, all of which is very dangerous. Besides the fact that the blood of the beast can take over the human and kill him during the course of the bond, there is also the fact that the two share the same life, if the human dies the beast dies."
The boys stood listening to the Elder without missing a single word, what he was saying was very important for their future. The world was full of dangers and information was the basis of every survival principle.
"Master this blood bond doesn't seem to have many advantages or am I wrong?" asked Rada, interested in the topic.
"That's where you're wrong son" replied the master solemnly, "Although it may not seem very advantageous to the human, it actually has many benefits that the other bonds mentioned do not."
"Which one?"
"Immortality" Rei and Cody suddenly interrupted the conversation between the two.
"Immortality?! Is there such a thing?!"
Rada was suddenly impressed, but at the same time he felt a huge desire growing inside him, after all, who didn't wish to be immortal?
"Well it's a bit complicated to talk about..." the Elder resumed the discussion.
"As for the Blood bond, it's not that it confers true immortality. The human who binds to a creature through the Blood bond shares life and death with the creature, however, all creatures in this world and especially those with a certain bloodline can live for millennia.
So the human who bonds with it gets all the benefits of that long life."
"I see," Rada nodded slowly.
Sharing the same life expectancy as the beast who had formed bond with was something that was very tempting for sure. Smiling, Rada didn't take long to imagine how much this kind of bonding must be required;
"Master what kind of bond is there between me and Kiba?" he asked with anticipation, perhaps there was that famous Blood Bond between them!
The Elder waited a few moments before answering, his eyes were closed in contemplation.
"Your bond seems to have all the makings of being even more incredible, however, I sense something is amiss," replied the Elder.
"What?!" asked the boys.
The master's first words made the three rejoice, especially Rada, but the second part of the sentence plunged him into despair.
"The bond seems to be incomplete," replied the Elder.
"Incomplete?" asked Rada anxiously.
"Can you communicate with him? Do you hear his voice?"
"Hear his voice?!" Rada's eyes went wide.
"He seems to be able to understand me, but I can't, I can't..."
He remained looking at the puppy, who in turn was staring at him, his gaze seeming to mean something.
"At this point, it really seems like you still need to complete the bond," said the Elder.
"In what way?" asked Rada. Apparently there was hope that he could complete the bond, his morale rose again.
"You must do exactly what he did," explained the teacher.
"What he did? How? I don't even have a clue what or how he did" replied the pupil blinking repeatedly in confusion.
"This won't be easy" replied the Elder with a wrinkled expression, he seemed to be thinking about something.
"Follow me."
He stood up abruptly and walked towards the inside of the house, the three boys following behind him.
(I wonder where we're headed?) thought Rada.
But he decided to follow in silence with little Kiba in his arms.
From the outside, the house didn't look very big, but actually inside it was much bigger than it showed.
So after crossing a long corridor, the Elder led the boys to some stairs that descended for several meters under the house. Gloomy candelabra were hanging on the dark walls, at first glance it seemed to enter those famous dungeons where they tortured prisoners. Thinking about it, Rada couldn't help but get chills behind her back.
"We're here."
After walking down the stairs for several minutes, the Elder stopped in front of a large and door, it looked ancient at first glance.
Rada stood looking at it for a moment, it was indeed imposing.
"Master where does this door lead to?" asked Rada.
Cody and Rei stood behind him speechless, they didn't know about this door either. They thought it was nothing normal, plus they were really happy that the Elder was making them part of it.
"Ohohoh, this my boy, is the Room of Spirit and Mind."
