Chapter 1 - Create My Kingdom: Intro

Two twins born at the same time in this remote village was quite a rare occurrence. The town healer was going to be busy tonight with the wails of two women who happened to be neighbors. It was a constant battle with half of the town wives standing near to catch a glimpse of the action. Most of them could remember their day of having to deal with the pain of birth and shuddered at the thought.

The town healer was an old retired third string healer for the Kingdom of Avarice's army. He did his service to his King but was glad to be rid of that hellish nightmare, always feeling like a failure that he could perform so little with his magic. Most of what he did for the village was to prescribe local herbs for sores, and the occasional Heal spell for an injured calf or farm hand. This was his dream location. Not much work, but today he had to deal with two births at once which really was a very rare occurrence. Needless to say, it was going to be a late night and an even longer time until he would get to his honey mead.

In the Correnthean household there sat a bundle of nerves who was supposed to be the most stoic figure in this town, the local smithy. He sat there ringing out his bear like paw of hands and glancing at his bedroom door like death itself lay on the other side.

"Oh, why dear Katara can I not just go help my poor wife." He yelled internally to his god. Of course, no answer came about due to his prayers. There came another scream but this time it was not from behind his bedroom door.

Right across the wall behind the house of the smithy was the local herbalist's house, and there sat much like the smithy the local hunter, also a bundle of nerves. Both of these men had been lifelong friends and were ecstatic to both become fathers. This was a sign from the very gods themselves that their families were meant to belong together. They often broke bread together and shared many bounties, but also many sorrowful ones as well. Before this joyous moment their parents had passed away in the 100 yearlong plague. While the passing of their parents was a sad moment. The birth of their children would erase the sadness that had loomed over them for the past few years. The screams persisted throughout the long night, and finally instead of the screams of women there was the distinct sound of children wailing.

The fathers rocketed up from their seats and went charging into the rooms. There lay in the arms of their wives the most beautiful children. One blonde boy and a dark-haired little girl. Little did the families know this really was a moment planned by the gods. For the souls of these two children were the souls of people from a place very different from their current ones. They were two desperate souls to return to their very own family.
