Chapter 31
Finally the awaited day has arrived. It's the day of the vacation, I've gotten everything I needed ready. I packed my clothes,some tights,sanitary pads,some underwear and lots of chocolates with other things like my makeup as well.
We booked a flight the day before and we would be boarding the plane by 9am. Damien was done packing and was waiting for me by the car downstairs. I quickly put on my blue turtle neck top,a pair of black jeans, a coat because of the chilly weather and the necklace I got from Damien.
Damien was still waiting by the car,he collected the box from me as he saw me approaching. He wore a matching turtle neck top and a pair of blue jeans and cool Nike sneakers and throw on some shades as well.
"Let's leave now or we'll be late for our flight" He said closing the boot after dropping our bags in it.
Mother and Diane came to bid us farewell as we got into the car and drove out of the compound." Have fun!" I heard her say on the top of her voice.
I kept staring at Damien as he drove, he noticed that and reacted "Do I have something on my face". I quickly looked the other way and replied " No,it's just that I remembered the last time we were in this car together,we almost had an accident because you wouldn't let me drive you in peace. I had to take some measures in other for you to keep shut".
"Don't ever drink alcohol and get wasted like that anymore" I added. He cleared his throat,he obviously seem embarrassed, seeing him uncomfortable made me giggle.
" I'm sorry for all that happened that day. I got myself drunk for the first time because you were so made at me and I didn't know how to face you and explain things to you. so I wanted to erase all that from my memory thinking it'll all be fine when I wake up".
"It's fine" I said smiling softly. I pressed the music button in the car only for it to play my favorite song,I sang along with the lyrics of the song and so did Damien. I got to know from him that it was his favorite song as well.
We got to the airport about an hour later,we waited for a while for the driver to pick the car and head back home. He stays close to the airport and since Damien doesn't like being driven around,he told the driver to come pick the car at the airport,luckily the driver got to the airport on time and Damien handed him the car keys we then got lined into the plane and then the plane took off. It was my first time leaving ivy hills.
I was nervous about leaving everyone behind and at the same time I was excited for the adventure ahead,Damien noticed how scared I was when the plane took off from the land and gently placed his hand on mine.
The flight lasted for about two hours .When we got to the airport, Damien called a taxi which took us to a boat port then we got on a boat heading to the island. We got to the island very late but the whole surrounding and the penthouse was lit. The surroundings were stunning,there were flowers everywhere as well as trees. I could also hear the sound of a stream nearby.
There was a huge swimming pool in garden as well. We went inside and I saw the most beautiful room ever,I've always thought of the Daniels house as beautiful but it definitely can not be compared to this.
The living room flowed into the kitchen and a place which looked like a game room,there were game pads and snookers as well as other games. The penthouse had a single loft which was used as the bedroom and one could look into living room from there.
The whole house was a 'smart house'as Damien called it,you could control majorly everything in there just by speaking. You could ask for the curtains to be opened and it will do that instantly or even tell the light to go out by itself and it would .
It was only strange to me but not to Damien,he looked as if it was a normal thing to him.
We dropped our bags in the loft and went back to the livingroom. I went into the bathroom to shower,the water was so cool and I felt like staying in there forever. I could swear I was dozing off when Damien called out "Food is ready!" . I got the bathe robe and wrapped a towel around my head and went downstairs to meet him.
As I walked down the stairs,I could smell the wonderful aroma coming from the kitchen. The dishes were already served and I sat on the dining chair to eat. Damien made pasta with this exquisite sauce and fried chicken wings by the side.
" wow who knew?" I said as I picked up my fork smiling and took the first bit. The taste was heavenly,I closed my eyes to enjoy every bite of it.
Damien chuckled and I opened my eyes. " Do you love it that much?,I can make it for you everyday" He said.
"Where did you learn how to cook such great food?" I asked as I took the second bite.
" I learnt to cook at college,I stay alone all through so I picked up a few skills" He replied. The first time I tried cooking,I burnt the whole food the fire alarm went on in my apartment and you should see how people were running for their lives as if a fire broke out" He added laughing.
That was the first time I've ever seen him laugh, and it looked beautiful. I joined in the laughter as well and we talked into the night.
