Chapter 33
We've been on the road for about 30 minutes now but yet to get to our destination. I was already getting impatient but Seraphine looked confident and excited and it made me wonder if really her claim of being in the city for the first time was true.
She refused to tell me where we were going and even took the driver aside to explain the location to him just so I wouldn't have a clue.
I wonder why she's so unpredictable and the fact that I can't get into her head to decipher things beats me.
"Can't you give me a clue" I asked for the umpteenth time.
"Nope" She replied firmly.
I gave up trying to persuade her and decided to patiently wait till we get to the location.
"Here we are!" The driver announced after about ten minutes later, we came out of the taxi. I paid the taxi driver and walked into the place that looked like an arena but with a huge building at the centre,I saw different people with artistic and kind of jazzy look,some with gothic styles,while some were glammed fashionistas.
After a while of walking we got to the main building,I stood eyes afixed on the building before me wondering what it's all about.
I saw the posts with either 'inspire' or 'a place where dreams come true' pasted everywhere in the arena.
"Where are we?" I asked Seraphine still confused.
"Let's go in to find out?" She replied. I nodded and followed her from behind but then stopped abruptly when something came to my mind.
" Stop!" I exclaimed which took her and everyone else passing by surprise. " Is this an hotel? why are we going into a hotel?" I asked.
Seraphine looked at me confused and the replied " Hotel? why would I ever bring you to a hotel?"
"Oh this is not an hotel? That's fine then" I replied sighing in relief.
"You have such a dirty mind,you weirdo" She replied rolling her eyeballs,i felt embarrassed having spouted out such nonsense.
'Stupid!stupid!stupid!" I bowed, hitting my forehead with my palm repeatedly. I looked up to see Seraphine moving fast into the building ,I tried to keep up the pace as I ran from behind.
We got into the building to see the most amazing things I've ever seen in my life. The hallway was filled with numerous paintings from different artists,I could even recognize some of my favorite artist's works as well.
"Seraphine could you wait for a moment,I want to take a picture of these arts" I said to her,I told her to take a picture of me standing next to some paintings as well. At first I thought I would be stopped from taking pictures of the artworks but I guess it wasn't a crime there.
We finally got to the doorstep of a certain seminar room after minutes of asking around from various people. She then said
"Inspire is an art related firm that provides a place for several artists allowing their artworks can be showcased. I know you enjoy painting and I've seen your work too that was why I thought you shouldn't miss this. She then further explained about the ongoing competition.
I was stunned and speechless by the time she was done,she gestured me to follow the remaining competitors to the seminar room.
She turned to say goodbye and absentmindedly out of excitement,I hugged her tightly. " Thank you! Thank you!" I said repeatedly still refusing to let go.
When I finally let go of her I apologized for my actions,she smiled and nodded in understanding and then left. 'This is going to be fun!' I said as I entered the room.

The facilitator left at 4pm and everyone dispersed as well. 'I can't wait to meet start this' i muttered with excitement.
I called Seraphine to let her know I was done so we could go home together she replied that she was in a nearby store and would soon be with me shortly.
I sat on a bench under a tree waiting for her,playing a game to while away time.
" Hello handsome" I heard someone say. I looked up to see a unfamiliar lady standing before me smiling.
"Hi" I replied wondering what her deal was. She sat too close to me which made me move a bit, "I noticed you back in class you seemed cool. I'll be very straightforward so the thing is I would want us to be a 'thing',you know what I mean?" She said.
At first I thought about laughing at her craziness but a better idea popped into my head as soon as I looked forward. I smiled and then got up waving at Seraphine from afar and then replied " I've got a beautiful wife that I'm crazy in love with so I hope that answers whatever you were saying".
The young lady scoffed and then left angrily. Seraphine walked up to me with a smile and I did likewise.
"How was your day?" She asked. " I can't edit to get started already" I replied.
"I guess you're already making new friends,that's nice" She said.
"Oh....you mean the lady that just left, she came to me saying she wanted us to be a thing and I declined saying I already have a beautiful wife" I replied and watched as her cheeks flushed as soon as I said 'I declined'.
"Those are the disadvantages of being really handsome" She said jokingly.
"Well I can't help it" I replied back smiling.
"Well I can't wait to hear about all that happened on your first day" She said and I told her I would as soon as we get home,leaving no details.
I held her hand and she looked at me puzzled but I didn't let go and she didn't refuse,she just went with the flow while we both enjoy the moment as we walked down to the bus stop.
