Chapter 39

I swallowed hard asking myself when she became so confident. I hesitated for a while thinking she would take her eyes off me or tell me not to bother answering the question. She's always the one taking the lead,I should have been the one asking such question.
After waiting for my reply for a while without response she said
" I guess you don't. Anyways you don't have to feel awkward or anything,I just wanted to know"
She smiled whilst saying that but I knew she wasn't expecting me to be silent.
She turned towards the stairs,I dragged her arms as she was about to climb a stair.
I grabbed her waist and brought her close to me. I could hear heart thumping.
I lowered my head a bit and kissed her.....
She wrapped her arms round my neck as we were both engulfed in the moment.
After satisfying our long starved yearnings I looked into her eyes and asked
" Does this answer your question?"
She was speechless, she kept staring at the space .
" I will sleep on the couch tonight,to avoid having wild thoughts "
" Goodnight " I said and kissed her on the forehead.
I laid down on my back on the couch and shut my eyes ,Seraphine went up the stairs into the bedroom. I quickly opened my eyes as soon as I noticed she was gone,I remembered the kiss it was like a dream come true. I will take her out on a date tomorrow and confess how I feel to her.
I have so many questions to ask her,I will ask her when she started liking me because I know definitely she wouldn't have been so engrossed if she doesn't like me.
I touched my lips and smiled,I stopped earlier because going further may lead to something else. I heard her footsteps approaching and shut my eyes once again pretending to be asleep.
I felt something brush against my skin,it was a blanket and I instantly felt warm as she covered me with it. I imagined her blushing and couldn't help but smile forgetting the fact that I was pretending to be asleep.
" oh my looking at the way he's smiling I bet he's dreaming about something nice. He's cute...." I heard her say silently.
She then left to retire for the day.

The next day was a beautiful Saturday and our departure date was getting closer,I didn't want to leave the beautiful city without having a date with Seraphine.
We haven't been able to spend a lot of time together because of the competition. I went up the stairs to check on her.
She was still fast asleep in bed, I didn't want to trouble her . I moved the duvet upwards to cover her hands .
She sighed in comfort.
I took my laptop and head back to the living room. I searched for amazing spots for a date online and found some,after a lot of thought I finally chose a cinema. I didn't know what kind of movies she watch so I decided to ask her before buying the tickets.
I took my bath and settled down for a coffee. Seraphine came down some minutes later. I noticed she was trying to sneak into the kitchen to get a glass of water. She probably thought I was still asleep so she didn't want to wake me. I walked up to her from behind
" You're up?"
She turned to look at me and spilled the water in her mouth on me,she was startled.
She quickly apologized and rushed back into the bedroom. Then it occurred to me
' Was she trying to avoid me? was that why she sneaked into the kitchen and was extremely startled when she saw me?'
Seraphine's POV
" How could he act as if nothing happened?, I even tried avoiding him thinking he was still asleep but why didn't it go my way" I whined.
I couldn't sleep well last night because I was thinking about the kiss all night. It was my first kiss so it was a big deal to me,
'how could he take such a thing as normal?'.
I took my bath and got dressed,I would have avoided going downstairs where he was but my stomach wouldn't cooperate. I was starving.
I went to the kitchen to make breakfast but he had already made it . It was my favorite waffles with honey drizzled on it with warm glass of milk.
" Oh wow!" I said salivating already,as I moved close to the dished meal.
" I thought of a way to appreciate you for all you've done so I decided to make your favorite" He said.
I wonder how he got to know they were my favorite so I asked " How did you know I love waffles ?" .I positioned a stool to sit
" I once asked your mum,although she told me to ask you things I want to know about you directly" He paused and then continued,"would you care to go on a date with me today?"
I wasn't expecting him to ask so soon,I was overwhelmed and those feelings that people feel when they are pleased with the one they love, Having ' butterflies ' in their stomach.
" I'll love to " I replied with a smile. He smiled back lovingly.
" I have a question to ask you but I'll leave it till evening " He said.
Then he asked again "What genre of movies do you enjoy watching?"
" Romantic comedy " I replied, he had a puzzled look on his face, I guess he remembered I told him I don't watch any movie that has to do with romance the first day we got to the penthouse, I chuckled he understood why I did that.
" I thought you said you don't watch romantic movies?"
" Well I do now" I replied smiling.
