Chapter 42

Few hours later we got to ivyhills,the driver was already waiting to pick us at the airport.
" You're both welcome " the driver said. The new driver is nothing like the old one who collided with Melody, this one is more responsible I liked him ever since he was brought in.
" Thanks Joe" I replied,Damien opened the door like the gentleman that he is and I entered,he then entered through the other door as well.
The driver started the car and in few minutes we were already on the way home.
"Are you okay " Damien asked when he noticed how uncomfortable I was feeling
" I'll be fine,the flight made me a bit sick . I will get meds when we get home " I replied but Damien objected,he told the driver to stop by a nearby drugstore to get me some drugs that'll make me better.
When we got to the store,Damien alighted from the car to get the drugs and came back with them . I took the drugs with the bottle of water laying in the car. I felt at ease as soon as I took the drugs and in no time the uneasiness and weakness were gone.
" Why do I feel sleepy " I said out aloud some minutes after taking the drugs ,we were still a long way from home.
" The attendant said the drug would make you feel drowsy so you just have to sleep for a while " Damien answered
" Alright"
I looped my arms with his and placed my head on his shoulder to sleep. Before I shut my eyes I saw the driver from the mirror looking at I and Damien and he was smiling.
" I'm so happy that the vacation brought you both together...." I couldn't hear the rest of the things the driver said as I blanked out.
Pimmmm pimmmmm
The driver honked , the honking woke me up and i sat upright and the gatekeeper opened the gate afterwards then we drove in.
Diane was the first to welcome us as we entered.
" Hope you brought things for me?" She asked almost after the greeting.
" Well I could've gotten a lot if we had more time but luckily I got you something the first day we arrived " . I could see her face lit up as I said that,the maids took our bags into our room and we entered the house.
I wanted to go into mother's room to greet her but Diane said she was asleep.
" is father home?" Damien asked Diane and as if he heard what we were saying,father walked in.
I could feel my heart thumping as he approached us,Damien looked calm but I bet he was freaking out inside as well.
" Father....." I couldn't finish my sentence when he landed a thunderous slap on Damien's cheek. His cheeks turned red instantly and father's ring created a mark on his beautiful skin.
He wanted to slap him on the other cheek when I stopped him and stayed in front of Damien to prevent him from slapping him.
Diane was crying and she ran into her room.
" If you're to hit anyone it should be me not him" I said trying to hid my anger.
" So you want me to hit you?..... fine I will" He answered
" No father,pls don't" Damien said as he brushed me behind him.
" I will accept any punishment you give me but pls don't touch her" He pleaded.
" So you both want to protect each other? Okay then you will both be punished!" He said sternly and then left.
" Are you okay?. I'm sorry for all that " Damien turned to ask me
" Are you even supposed to say that when you're hurt?" I replied,tears formed in my eyes as I looked at his cheek,they were not as red as before but they would still be painful. His lips were stained with blood too.
I grabbed his hand and dragged him to our room, shut the door and made him sit on the bed,I got the first aid kit and grabbed some ice cubes from the fridge.
" I'm fine,you don't have to do this,you should rest" He said
I didn't answer or reply him I just kept treating the bruise.
When I was done cleaning the blood putting ointment and band aid . His face looked better.
" I'm sorry for everything,I convinced you to go on the vacation even though I knew father won't be pleased to hear it and you were against the idea but I convinced you" I apologized.
" I don't regret going on the vacation with you,I'll go over and over again with you even if I have to piss my dad off a thousand times " he replied with a soft smile.
"I promise to take you on a better date" He added and I chuckled.
" What do you plan to do?" I asked
" Well.....I just have to do a better job from now on" He replied
"I promise to help in any way I can" I also said.
He smiled and a maid came in to announce to him that he was being called by the mayor. I didn't want to let him go all by himself but then I knew following him there would make it worse.
As he stood up to leave I took his hand,
" Pls be fine,if he tries to hit you. You can scream you know and I'll come running " He laughed and replied
" Alright ".
When he left,I unpacked the boxes and I saw the portrait he made for me while we were in the penthouse,I hung it at the perfect spot in the room. It then occurred to me that we didn't take any pictures together at the penthouse,I took a few pictures of myself in the penthouse but not with Damien. I regretted not taking any with him ,we don't even have any one we took together in ivy hills as well.
" That's definitely something I must take note of" I thought.
" Oh what a day!" I said and then went into the washroom.
