Chapter 20
.....she walked gracefully towards Damien smiling. For some reason she walks with confidence like she's some sort of princess of a faraway land or the only heir of a conglomerate family.
Damien looked utterly shocked when he saw her.
"What are you doing here,how did you find this place?" He asked almost whispering,she kissed him on his cheeks and replied "I'm here because I missed you".
She came to me and asked " Is this your wife?" She looked at me and scoffed, she looked at me with hatred as though we have met before. She instructed one of the maids to get her bag from the car. Looks like she would be with us for a while judging by the size of box.
Damien couldn't keep calm till the end of the party,he seemed greatly troubled by her presence.
After the party, when everyone had left. I was awaiting a proper introduction but didn't get any,I decided to wait till the next day to know how this crazy young woman is related to Damien as I went into my room to retire for the day.

Damien's POV
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her at the party tonight. It's been over two years since I last saw her,she hasn't changed. She still has the bad temper and craziness as before.
I remembered how we met that sunny afternoon at college . I was hurrying to class because I was already late, I didn't know I left my documents in the cab. She got into the same cab after the taxi dropped me off and saw the documents wrapped in a file.
She told the cab driver to drive back to where he dropped me off and searched for me afterwards till she saw me at the park where I was actually thinking of what to do. The file contained important documents and I couldn't even recall how the driver looked because I was in a hurry to get to class on time.
" You have no idea how destabilized I am,I thought I lost it forever " I said as I collected the file.
" I knew they must've been pretty important documents to you that was why I decided to bring it" She replied smiling softly. 'She was looked beautiful when she smiles' I said inaudibly.
She had short brown hair just like mine, chocolate toned skin and dark eyes. Her style of dressing was gothic but I couldn't care less because I was already swayed.
She looked different from any of the ladies I had seen,she also touched my heart with her kind gestures.
I took her contact and gave her mine and that was how our relationship started. She was studying arts while I was into business management,although we had two campuses ,she was staying in campus one while I was in campus two.
Our relationship was pretty special as we both had the same mindset and way of thinking. She doesn't see bullying weak students as anything bad."It would make them stronger "she would always tell me trying to justify my actions.
We did lot of mischievous things together like little children. No one could dare come close to her in the entire school because I was feared by everyone. Sometimes we would go to the library to read together and go on dates on weekends.
It was all good until the day I decided to go to her apartment unannounced,I was about ringing the doorbell when I heard her talking to her friends.
"Don't you think you should stop now,I think you are taking this too far" Tracy one of her friends said.
" Mia let Tracy be,she wouldn't understand " Viola her second friend replied.
"What are you saying Viola what if Damien gets to know that Mia has been deceiving him all along and that she started dating him all because she had a bet with that crazy Olivia".
Olivia was the campus queen,I was selected as the campus king as well.
I was aware of Olivia's interest in me but ignored her.
"Relax girls, the fool hasn't even known yet,so why are you all worked up Tracy?. What does he even think,I'd date him because of his good looks and because he's the son of the mayor of a village I don't even know? I only care about the money I'm getting from Olivia and once I get it, I'm done with him" Mia said.
After hearing all she said I hated myself for being stupid enough to be fooled by her. I confronted her the next day and she confirmed it.
"In love with you?are you crazy!" She asked laughing." I was never in love with you and now that you know the truth I suggest we break up" she said firmly.
It felt like I was talking to someone else and not the Mia I know. "I don't want to ever see you again" I said as I left angrily. I haven't seen or heard of her until when I saw her at the party today.
'Why is she here, how did she locate me,why must it be now that I want to impress Seraphine' these questions kept flooding my head and what is worse,I don't even have a clue to the answer.
Seraphine came into the room,she must have a lot of questions about Mia but what would I tell her?. I promised myself not to ever lie to her, 'this wouldn't be easy' I thought.
After removing her makeup and accessories. She went into the closet and came out with a little box.
"Open it,I hope you like your birthday gift though" She said after handing the box over to me.
"Birthday gift?" I asked as I opened the box with excitement. It was a beautiful wrist watch with leather strap.
"It has your name inscribed on it" She said as she watched me scan the watch with a smile on my face.
"It is beautiful,thank you for the gift" I replied. 'At least I would sleep without thinking about that witch' I thought.
"That lady....hmm Mia, is she your friend?" She suddenly asked making me think about Mia once again.
