Chapter 23 - Baby

Marga's P.O.V

"Well ... ahm. We survived. It's just a little sad because we're not complete without my siblings and relatives." I change the topic.

While waiting for the baked mac to be cooked, I also bothered to arrange the selected groceries on the table and placed in the overhead cabinet.

I saw that she pouted at what I said.

"Isn't that what you and Klark want? Klark said that you don't want to have a grand wed since you just like a simple wedding."

She explained this as she approached and smelled what I was cooking.

I gave a nod.

Not a grand wedding, but I did recover from the grand banquet. I let out a sigh.

She is correct. And what about a grand wedding? Once more. It is only done to those who love excessively and to those who are about to marry. If we get married, we will not get married in court, but in a church with important people in your life.

Since it was just a pretense, Klark and I decided that it would be simple even in court and not in church. It's just a waste of money, after all, it's really just pretending and if we do that in the church ... maybe I'll be even more convicted.

Oh god, maybe it's really too much for the two of us to sin since we're really guilty. I don't want too much career pretending while people close to you are superstitious. Especially to my parents so I really lied. Even in front of the church? So we don't have to.

"Seriously Klea," as Klark lowered the cat to the floor.

He just crawled into the house wearing something I didn't notice. He insisted on not entering the office.

"Marga is hesitant to tell many people about our wedding. She is only interested in people who are close to her. That's why we're the only ones in the room."

That's exactly what I told him.

I let out a sigh. "Yes, indeed. Klea, please accept my apologies. Despite the fact that I'm sad because my siblings aren't present. I'm also not used to seeing a lot of uhm... p-people I don't really know." I replied hesitantly. "You know... slander. That bothers me. Many people are aware that your brother uhm.. first married Shaina, who is... my best friend." She pouted, cleared her throat, and nodded slowly.

They exchanged glances for a moment, then Klea returned my gaze, and Klark knelt while the cat was bothered.

"Well I guess, you're right. I know Shaina will be overjoyed now that Klark has a new partner. Particularly you! He chose you as well! It's a good thing you like me because I don't like other women." I was stunned and cleared my throat as she artistically stated that there was teasing and listening to his brother.

I sighed; Klark's family was aware of our agreement at Shaina's request, but my family was unaware. Is Klea aware of this as well?

It occurred to me that Klark would never marry again. I immediately shook it to remove it, and I may have overthought it again, especially since I'm cooking.

I don't want to irritate myself with what I'm thinking despite the fact that I can't see anything.

"Oh, Marga, I hope you can handle my older brother's temper. He still sneezes loudly while sleeping, so you might wake up unexpectedly—"

"Enough, Klea!" Klark remained silent, while I suppressed a laugh in response to Klea's chatter.

Klea didn't realize we couldn't sleep together, so her temptation did not affect me.

"Oh why, why, why? What's wrong my brother? You're all going to be embarrassed because you're getting married? You're becoming accustomed to it! The couple is no longer embarrassed! So even if you smell something in the nook, you know and he or she knows!" She burst out laughing at the same time.

I, on the other hand, couldn't help but laugh as his older brother put on a poker face despite the fact that he was disgusted with his sister for teasing him.

Is he a shy person? So presumptuous. Why should he be annoyed because he was the one who said something outside of our room?

I just shrugged and shook my head.

"Klea, you really know a lot, huh? You should just leave." Klark was irritated.

"Perhaps our home will be enchanted because of your witch voice."

Her sister sighed and rolled her eyes. "Oh, my dear brother! Don't let me go. Are you really looking forward to spending time alone with Marga? I'll start with Marga's baked mac and cheese!"

Klark just scratched his neck and sighed.

"Marga, how does it feel to be getting married? I heard you were the maid of honor in the past. And how do you feel now that you're bride?" Klea looked at me as she lowered the gas stove to prevent the food I was cooking from burning.

I want to exclaim, "Of course, I am overjoyed!" We were happy and ended up getting married, even if it was only for the show. I make another assumption. Oh, no.

"Were you excited or nervous yesterday?" she carved.

"Ahm... kind of..." I was taken aback and responded hesitantly.

Her lips formed an 'o' and she laughed. She's gotten even crazier, in my opinion.

"Brother, I noticed Eva isn't here; did I think she was already here? Did she call again?" she asked as she sat in the nook of the chair.

"Not yet," he said.

"She should have arrived yesterday, but there could have been an emergency with them. I'll simply call her again later."

"What about the household chores? Who will prepare the food? Who is going to do the dishes? Who is going to do the laundry? Who is going to iron? Who is going to water? Who is going to clean the house? Who will look after Rius and Zeus? Who will be in charge of the cooking— "She inquired one after the other.

"Don't be concerned, Klea," I responded. "Even without Eva, everything is fine. I'll be fine. I'm familiar with housework." I cracked a small smile.

"Is that true? The house is large, and you're the only one Marga; Klark is too lazy to sweep, so you might get tired!" Despite her protests, she couldn't help but annoy his older brother.

"Klea is right. That's what I told her as well. But she doesn't want me to hire another maid because she prefers Eva "and he laughed.

That's correct. When I'm separated from my mother and family, I prefer Eva; she's like a mother to me. It was a good cause, and it got close because Shaina never sent me to their house, and we always talked with her.

"If I'm not too busy, I can assist you with household chores. Just don't overdo it." He informed me.

"I know. It's just that, I just want to do something at home. If you hire a maid, what am I going to do all day? So let's just wait for Manang Eva. I feel like she won't be too long."

"Well, if that's the case, let's just wait," agreed Klark.

"What if she doesn't return?" Klea asked.

"Then we'll get a new assistant," he said as he sat down next to Klea and patted her on the back.

Her lips curved into a pout. It's adorable.

They are adorable siblings.

I immediately noticed that the baked macaroni and cheese was done. Klark also helped earlier, before he took a bath; he ate while I cooked adobo, and I just caught that baked mac for the two kids when they got home from school.

"Wait a minute. I'll just go get some plates." I said this while translating the Baked Mac into the container, and I felt Klark stand up to assist me.

"Thank you." I expressed my gratitude.

He cracked a grin.

"Come on, let's eat." Then, I said, put the dish in the container as well.

"What a cute couple!"

We walk straight to the dining room and take a seat at the table, still smiling. While I was carrying the bowl of adobo, I noticed Klark spooning rice into the container and carrying it to the dining room.

"What a cute couple!"

She praised Klark and me for our quick thinking when we arrived at the dining room with a bowl and set it down at the same time.

"Oh my goodness! There are numerous foods. Marga, your cooking smells delicious! And I'm sure it's delicious as well "She snorted as she spooned the baked macaroni one after the other.

"Delicious! I missed it!" She ate once more.

Klark, on the other hand, is making a poker face at his sister.

"Take your time, sister. Let your nephews handle it." His older brother's teasing was also directed solely at his children.

"Duh! I can't a lot of it, do you think I'm starving to death? You're so annoying. At the same time, scooped up sister and shook my head.

"I have nothing to say." His older brother simply replied that he, too, ate food at the same time.

When our gazes met, he gave me a thumbs-up and winked at me, indicating that he was enjoying my cooking.

I almost choked on my food, so I drank some water. What exactly is it? What is he doing winking at me? Se...seriously?

"Marga, you should cook to our home! On the weekend, with Mama!"

"Of course," I replied with a smile as I watched Klea eat my food.

"Klea, you're awesome. Learn to cook so that you can be useful to the rest of the world "His older brother spoke up.

Klea pointed the fork at her brother. Blabbering sarcastically with his brother, but when it comes to me, she's like a cat, a very clingy cat and sweet.

"Architect, I'm so ashamed of you. You have no idea how to use a broom. Do you know what a broom is?" She inquired deftly.

"Of course, it's being used to clean the house." He responded as if he was going to look at you as if you were a fool.

"You have no idea how to use it. What's the point of your beauty if you're a goddamn slacker?"

She argued once with her grumpy tongue.

"And at the very least, I can cook. What good is your beauty?" He responded with a raised brow.

"I don't mind. Is it my fault that I'm so... so beautiful? "once she flipped her hair

"Tss..." Klark mumbled while chewing.

Klea turned to face me at the same time, a tender cat's smile on her face.

"Can you cook baked mac again for this weekend, Marga?" she begged.

Klark and I agreed once more. That is exactly how the siblings are. In addition, the broom is divisive. Oh, no.

In agreement, I simply nodded and smiled at Klea.

"Yes, indeed! Yes, indeed! You should all come to our house, brother; I'm still there."

"True. Just don't exhaust my baby." He smiled as he turned to face me.

This is the second time.

I was stunned and nearly choked, but luckily there was water nearby, and I immediately drank it again. I was still a little down when the rice got stuck in my throat as a result of what Klark had said.

Did he just refer to me as "baby"? Is he talking about me, baby?

"Are you okay?" he inquired, and I felt him suddenly caress my back.

When his hand suddenly touched my back, I felt electricity and immediately stood up.

I could see the surprise in his eyes.

"Juice,"

"Huh?" he asked, perplexed.

"Do you like juice, I mean? U-Uh, yeah... I'll... I'll make it." I turned away from him, waiting for him to say something.

I grabbed a jug from the fridge and seasoned it with orange juice right away. Kleas chuckled, which I overheard.

I closed my eyes tightly while mixing; what was your reaction, Marga?! You have the face of a fourteen-year-old! Marga, you are no longer a teenager; you are an adult. So, even if it's surprising, you get used to Klark; just don't be too obvious.

Something has just come out of my mouth.

Don't be a shy type of flirt; if you're excited, you should keep it under control. Even if your bladder explodes, self!

When I turned around, they thanked me for translating their glass.

"Don't be concerned, brother! I'm not going to tire out your baby! Marga will also receive assistance from Mama and me." Klea's words came out of nowhere while she smiled at us.

And it's a good thing I've already filled the glass with juice because otherwise it might spill and be thrown into Klea's teasing of Klark and me.

When I looked at Klark, he was eating and smiling while ignoring his sister's attention.

Klark's earlier reference to me made my heart skip a beat.

'Baby.'

My chest was full, and I was only given water to alleviate the shock I was experiencing.

Oh my God... You make me beat my heart without even realizing it.
