Chapter 2 - Part 1

Every corner of the world had heard whispers of the angel girl. Most did not believe them of course. But Ateez had seen so many things that most thought were all just legends, they believed that there was a such thing as a human born with angel blood.

And because of that reason they were seeking all the information they could about the girl.

They have been hunting for the girl for a month now since their encounter with Ester. So far it has only sent them on wild goose chases all over the sea. Going from island to island gathering all they could about where the said girl might be.

They were losing patients seeing as they have not gained any useful information. Some of the crew were starting to believe that such a human was nothing but a legend.

They had heard a whisper about a man that used to have her in his possession. He had died 4 years ago. They decided to visit his abandoned castle.

~~

I watch as the sun rises yet again over the sea. Casting beautiful yellows and oranges. I wanted to leave the small island.. But I could not if I wanted to keep my freedom.

~~

The Pirate Kings marched through a small village. Gaining many fearful looks. But they payed no mind to the village people, their eyes were set on a castle.

Once in the castle the pirates and their crew trashed the place looking for anything to connect them to what they seek.

"Captain!" Came a yell from the east wing of the castle.

Hurriedly everyone within ear shout headed to where the yell had originated from.

"What?" Glared the blonde haired captain.

"I found this.." In the crew mates hand was a book.. In that book lied all the answers they needed to find the half angel.

The owner of the book had hid it away in a secret compartment under his desk. The crew mate had stumbled acrossed it as he was just messing around. Throwing anything he could just for fun. On the desk he had flipped was a string that opened the trap door.

Inside that door was many things that the old man had found, or made to control the half angel girl. And inside that book was all the information on how to use each tool for their advantage.

As the captain read more of the book he realized that the old man was seeking the same thing as them. A way to travel through the dimensions as they pleased.

After a long moment of silence, the captain looked up to his waiting crew. "We have exactly what we need." He lets out a manic laugh. His crew roars along with him.

---

The old man that had lived in the castle was a wicked man. He had stole the girl when she was 12. Once he had her, he researched for years on ways to control her. Going to witches to make weapons he could use against her. He also hired pirates to find maps that would lead him to the gates of many different dimensions. His plan was to sail across the seas using the girl to help him come and go as he pleased.

But after he had gathered everything he had needed, he died in his sleep one night. Just days before he was to set sail. No one had known about his stash of weapons and maps. Until now that is..

--

Even though Ateez had found this things they still had to find the girl. And lucky for them the old man had planned ahead. He had one enchanted map that would find the girl no matter where she was. All they needed to do was put a drop of her blood on the blank parchment.

"We need to find a vial of blood. It should be located in his necklace." The blonde haired man said this to his quartermaster.

"So now we go grave robbing?" The silver haired quartermaster raised a brow at his captain.

"That's exactly what we do."

~~

I have been on this island for a year now. It was small but lucky for me many birds would stop and rest here, and many fish would swim close to the shores. There was one small spring in the middle of the island, providing me with the fresh water I needed to live. In the forest there were a few different types of fruits that grew on trees scattered about the island.

I had made me a small camp not long after my boat hit the shore. Thanks to me living off the land before my grandparents passing, I was able to survive.

I knew in a few years, the stories about me would fade with the people who have met me. I hoped that one day I could be free to go where I please.

If only she knew about what her old captive had hidden under his floor...

~~

The ruthless Pirate King had a satisfied smile on his face as his crew dug up the old man's grave.

"We got it!" Yelled a lower crew mate. He held his hand up out of the hole. In his hand was a small vial of blood.

The captain snatched it out of his hand. Bringing it closer to his face, he was slightly shocked to see the blood inside.

He knew angels had unique blood. But this was beautiful. The blood swirled around like a galaxy.  The longer he looked he could make out different colors dancing around.

He shakes his head. This was no time to sit around and admire things.

It was time to find this half angel and get the pieces to the hourglass.

---

They sat in the captains quarters, staring down at the blank parchment that lay on the table.

His main crew sat at the table with batted breathes. They needed this to work. All of their other leads were useless.

The captain opened the vail. Slowly he turned it over, allowing a small drop of blood to land on the center of the paper.

A few seconds had passed as nothing happened. In those few seconds the Pirate King felt his own blood begin to boil.

He stood up an anger. Ready to throw everyone into the ocean.

"Captain..." Called his best mate.

He snapped his heated gaze to the dark haired man. But he stopped himself from yelling at him an anger. He followed his first mates gaze back to the parchment.

The once blank piece of paper was now covered in markings. In the bottom corner was coordinates.

"Yunho. Set sail to these coordinates right away." He handed the map to his trusted navigator.

"Aye sir." Called the navigator . Walking away quickly.

"Crew... Get ready." He smirked to the men in the room. "Here we come little angel." He whispered as he walked to his room.

~~~
The sun had reached the middle of the sky. I was making repairs on my little hut. A storm had passed yesterday knocking some of the big palm leaves off the roof.
Wiping sweat from my forehead, I sigh. I look down at my tattered clothes.
I haven't had any new clothes in over a year. But the storm had washed some loot a shore. I haven't went to investigate what was all out there yet. To worried about making sure I could sleep without rain falling on me.
But as soon as I'm satisfied with the repairs. I take off to the beach. To see what I could recover from what was washed up.
--
From the wash up, I was able to find a few valuable things. I found a new short sword, a axe, and a machete. A new water canteen. Some men's clothes. Some dresses as well- that I would never wear. It was not a good idea to wear a dress with all the labor I had to do.
There were barrels of food as well. But they had all been ruined. Some bottles of wine and liquor as well.
After I lug what I could use back to my campsite. I start making dinner. I planned on cooking the fish I had caught while I was on the beach.
~~~

The coordinates on the map led the pirates to a small island. Far away from any mainland.

How could a person survive here? Was the question they asked themselves as they boarded row boats, so they could access the island.

"Split into three teams. Two go follow the shores. And one will split through the forest. There isn't much ground to cover here. If you find her shot off three times. And the other teams will shot back twice to let you know they heard you. When you hear the two receiving shots from the other two teams. Head back here." Called the Captain.

"If she is here we will fine her!" He added before they set off.

~~~
The sun was setting over the horizon as I stroke my small fire. My eyes were cast up. Watching as yet another breathe taking sunset let the sky. The bright pinks, and purples that painted the few clouds that lazily sailed across the vast ocean of the sky. The air had a small nip to it, as the colors fade. As the last few rays of sunlight faded, in it's place stars burst to life. Painting the dark sky with small specks of color. You could see the milky way swirl with millions of stars. Constellations filled the sky with pictures. Your favorite was the mighty Pegasus. Something about a horse with wings fascinated you.
~~
The pirates were trekking their way through the forest when they come across a foot path. They could tell that it had been traveled on recently.
The pirates look to one another with a mad glint in their eyes.
~~
I let my fire die down after watching the stars dance. Once the fire had burned down to nothing but a few ambers. I make my way in my little hut. Ready for bed.
I sit up quickly. Something just snapped a limp off to the left side of my camp.
Maybe it was a bird...
That's what I tell myself but I knew better. No birds around here were big enough to make a limp snap like that.
"Fuck." I whisper as I stand gathering myself. I slip on my boots, and grab my new short sword that had washed up on the shore today. I was not good with a weapon like this. I was more suited for throwing knives- but I had left them lodged in a tree yesterday.
I had no clue how to use the sword.
I step out of my tent. Standing over a now very much alive fire were 3 men.
I gulb as all their gazes span to me.
"Can I help you?" I ask while standing straight as possible. Trying to appear unfazed by their presence.
"Maybe..." The one with short blonde hair stepped around the fire. "have you heard of a half angel half human?"
"What? No. Never." I say to quickly.
He raises a brow at me. "Really?" He pulls out a string that had a small white stone on the end.
An angel stone. A very rare rock that would light when it was close to someone that had angel blood.
Their were ones that could be used for demons as well. But those are more common. Because priest would pay people to find them.
"Then why is this glowing?" He looked from the stone to me. When he sees my face pale. A evil smirk grows on his lips.
"Get her." Next thing I know the other 2 men jump at me.
I take off to my left. Running into the woods. I can hear them gaining quickly but I don't stop.
Bobbing and weaving my way through the forest that I knew like the back of my hand. Jumping over fallen trees and roots, and ducking under low hanging limps and vines.
Before I know it I reach the west shore. I turn left again, heading north.
I hear a shot, next thing I know the sand next to me explodes from the impact of a bullet.
"Stop or I'll shot again! And this time I won't miss on purpose!" Came a yell from behind me.
I mean it was pointless to run, but I was not about to give up. I stop and pull my sword from it's sheath.
The pirates walk to me not even fazed by the sword.
"Do you even know how to use that?" Asked the one with silver hair.
"Why don't you come closer and find out?" I dare. Knowing damn well I had no clue.
"How about you just put it down and come with us." His eyes flicker to behind me.
I go to spin around, but it was to late. Next thing I know I feel a shrap pain to the back of my head and my world goes black.
