Chapter 16 - The Real Monster

{Reset Sigma set applied, error!}

Tyr, with his constructed Gladiator class, is itching to get started. Leaving the safe confines of the Pike away from the southern beach area, going toward the northern mountain range. Holding his spear, Tyr moves towards the forest that has the level, five creatures.

speed: slow

requirements: ----

With a slow attack speed, his weapon can attack once every three seconds. However, unlike his sword, which has damage ranging from two to twelve. The spears damage is much higher and more consistent. He does to thou slot the sword in the secondary slot just in case.

Tyr comes across medicinal weed. It is one of the ten. In Odyssey, plants and herbs have multiple effects. The base herb of the stronger healing potion uses the Black weed that is all around. He picks up seventeen roots of the Black weed. Reluctantly eating the bitter root. He gets a status ailment. A warm green light appears all over him.

[Black weed Ingested!]

According to the image of root in his stats bar, it should only last thirty seconds. He eats another root disappointment to unlock another one if it functions. Tyr soon finds a monster on its own. The players are avoiding it.

Tyr can guess why the level five DeadWood can one-shot a level five player. The Deadwood also has high armour and high magic resistance. The reason Tyr wants to kill it is that it drops a lot of herbs. Most outer perimeter monsters do. His prime targets are The DeadWood, Nesting Badger and Northern Forest bandit. The bandits have various hideouts throughout the forest. He considers the principal base of operation a solo dungeon that is perfect for the beginner guide.

Tyr starts with the DeadWood in front of him. Three-level five players chat amongst themselves. The rogue playing with his bow says, "shit I didn't think he would be this stupid."

Three-Sixth says, "I know right! How are we supposed to collect if he gets himself killed?"

Two-Thirds says, "None of that matters. We have been following him around for an hour. That kid is still busy and keeps telling me to monitor him. We are losing levels like this." Two-Thirds is a heavyset man with long, lush green hair and a scar across his mouth. A heavy shield on his back.

One-Fifth says, " three-sixths goddammit just ask for more money. We can make it up. It's not like you have another plan to make the fifty k we need."

Three-Sixths says, "why are you yelling at me One! Two said he could solve our problem. One you agreed so don't you dare raise your voice at me." Three-Sixths has always been a man who stands up for himself. He is a very proud man.

One-Fifth says, "fine man! I'm sorry, I'm just tired of struggling bro. This game is basically a pot of gold and we are wasting our chance."

Two-thirds says, 'spill it what did you hear? You wouldn't be so restless otherwise." One-Fifth scuffs. How is he the restless one? Two-Thirds is the one who caused this whole thing anyways. As a trainer for a corporate guild. Two-Thirds has always been too nosey.

One-Fifth says, "A kid from a lower block in Utopia. With an uncommon skill and got paid a hundred thousand credits in bits. By the Hellfire Guild, the poor kid should have asked for a transfer."

Three-Sixths says, " Shit, please tell they did not gut the poor kid." two-thirds yells in surprise at the battle between Tyr and the Deadwood.

One-Fifth says, "They gutted the poor boy, hung him by his britches and didn't even take the bits. Nobody took his body down they just took the bits."

Tyr waits for the last possible moment before rolling towards. The hulking, wooden blunt arm of the Deadwood. It throws piles of dirt and grass into the air. Tyr has rolled behind the Monster. With its large frame, it takes seven seconds to turn and another two to swing. That gives him the chance to attack twice.

Twenty-five and Thrity-Three damage values appear above the monster's head. The damage it receives is minimal. It has two thousand health. Lucky for him, it can't heal. Deadwood is actually a spirit possessing a dead tree.

Three-Sixths says, " What a waste some of these companies are just too vicious." On Mars, powerful companies rule the world. With an iron grip, people wish to become CEOs the same way earthlings wish to become famous.

Tyr swallows another piece of Black weed. He hopes to open up the second attribute of the Black weed. He knows three of its four attributes, since he was never an alchemist. Tyr never paid much attention to the attributes of ingredients in potions.

Every time Tyr attacks the DeadWood, it sways its arms about clearing about three trees in the process. This gives Tyr an idea since two of the trees that fell create a path just wide for the Deadwood to enter but not to manoeuvre.

Tyr works his way around the monster, staying in front of it. When it swinging its arms. A death wind dashes past Tyr as he leaps backwards. Facing the attack from the front is more terrifying than he thought.

Two-thirds says, "Holy shit that was close, did you'll see that. Kids got some nuts on him."

One-Fifth says, "It's a shame he somehow pissed off the wrong people."

Tyr slides his spear forward before jumping back again. Fighting from the front means it can attack with both arms. Tyr thrusts his spear again. Tyr's face is covered in dirt as it is thrown into the air. Thundering limbs missing inches from his body. Tyr attacks and retreats, moving, edging his way with the Deadwood toward the fallen trees.

Tyr brings forth the Deadwood steadily into the fallen trees. Once he has it in there. He runs down the fallen tree line. The trees had fallen in between other trees and The Deadwood tries to slam its way out. The Deadwood bumps into fallen trees, returning to their original position. Unable to turn around.

Tyr arrives at the thrashing monster's back. His spear moves with deadly intent, without needing to worry about dodging. Tyr switches to his sword. He needs to attack as fast as possible. Once the other players see what is happening, they will make their move for his kill. In Odyssey, the one who kills the monster gets the loot. Unless, of course in party mode.

Tyr brings out the dagger from his inventory. This weapon adds to his damage. He deals the death blow in under two minutes. As a secondary weapon, with a very fast attack rate. It can attack in between the sword slashes.

When the Deadwood drops, Tyr jumps back, moving away from the loot. Tyr's level jumps straight to three.

Three-Sixths says, "what the heck is he doing." He has never seen anyone run away from loot. He's never seen loot appear like that. Could the DeadWood be a hidden boss or a special monster? As Tyr clears the fallen tree. He jumps behind one of the standing ones. Several other players who see the pile of loot try to walk towards it.

One-Fifth says, "No, let's wait and watch something weird is going on. It should be his trap so that he can leave with his harvest." One-Fifth knows one thing is true in life and especially in gaming, 'Free loot, costs levels.'

The players are laughing at the stupidity of Tyr for leaving all this loot. They plan to wait for him so that they can force him to hand over the loot. About thirty players in the total gather. There are at least twenty pieces of materials. All common materials but nonetheless a huge haul. The players can't interact or inspect any of the loot, but they can sure as hell dream about it.

Tyr smirks DeadWood is two monsters in one. He has only defeated the physical part of the monster. Since he doesn't have a way to prevent the soul possessing the DeadWood from exploding. The explosion deals with unblockable spirit damage. This damage will also make it impossible for them to log in for forty-eight proper hours. Spirit damage is the players' account.

A grey anguish sounds off. A bright yellow orb pops up from the ground. The players think this is a good omen. They have never seen such a dazzling airy they believe that this must be epic loot or even legendary. Many eyes shine bright with greed. Players start pushing each other trying to get closer to the loot. They are afraid that it right get stolen. In their hysteria, they have forgotten the basic loot claim system.

Tyr watches as the energy builds from behind cover, he is also readying himself. This is going to be a huge haul of items from players who won't be able to retaliate.

A small energy ball bubbles up...
