Another Hikari appeared in the middle of her Oblivion Magia. Its Prava Phantasia was disrupted and swallowed, completely disintegrated now.
All she could do was swallow people's territory by guiding other people's magic. It was like a weaker form of Kaori's gradient magic which forces things to move out of their own accord. Well, she can enhance her soldiers though. The slime is forced by 'guidance' into a tiny compressed ball. A Rei clone dashes forward, slashing at the slime while the magic type magical girls she summoned shot enough explosion skills to disintegrate the isolated slime. This was the second clone that was killed.
The next one materialises outside the Oblivion Magia. A new enemy king piece appears just as the previous one explodes into numerous frgaments. She moves some bishops to immediately attack the rematerialised slime while she releases her Oblivion Magia. Due to the Prava Phantasia, the slime has slightly less magic than before. But it was nearly negligible, the new Demon King(imitation) allowed herself to be killed on purpose.
It was clear Rei used a massive amount of magic to cast her Oblivion Magia, in this situation having more magic in storage really brought an advantage to the slime. It was far easier to allow herself to be killed so she could escape the effects of the Oblivion Magia. Outside, she could harm Kanou or Titania, there was no choice but for Rei to release her Oblivion Magia to deal with the new Demon King.
Without pause, an attack was launched at her clone. A summoned magical girl that was a tank type materialised a shield to block the attack, bearing the brunt of the attack, but it left large gashes in the shield as it fell apart. The tank magical girl who was brought back from the dead had to block the rest of it with her body instead, perishing. There was a strict limitation to this summoning of magical girls that she once knew. For each individual, they could only be summoned once per battle.
The more of them she used here, the less she'll be able to use in the subsequent battle. It was dangerous to empty out her arsenal just to grasp a quick victory. Well, it can't be helped. She had an entire army's worth anyway, though the A grades number less than a hundred. She had used up around 10 of them already. 90 more to go until she runs out. She summons 5 melee warrior types. Despite once being A grades, her summons were also weaker than the real deal. Only the Rei clone could possibly be said to be stronger than the genuine article herself, even the it was still debatable.
The warrior types drew out their weapons. 2 of them used a normal sword and collaborated with the Rei clone while the other 3 trusted their spears forward at the maximum range possible. The first swordsmen was obliterated a flowing black beam, like a liquid that rushed endlessly tore through even the dark morning sky, cleaving a visible void in the battlefield that seemed to absorb the moonlight.
The Rei clone used the destroyed swordsman as a cue to jump behind the second on, the first spearman finally reached the Hikari clone to thrust out his spear, but the entire weapon along with his body split into 3 and dissipated into magical particles. At the same time, a single thrust of the arm impaled the next spearman and a powerful wide swing sliced apart the last along with the already impaled one. The final swordsman finally closed the distance for a quick and close forward thrust, a direct stab into the Demon King(imitation)'s flesh.
With a single gaze, the swordsman's head exploded while the Rei clone took advantage of that tiny opening to escape Hikari's line of sight, stabbing her in the back. 10 mage types appeared... But they didn't shoot magic at Hikari. Instead they enhanced Rei clone's physical abilities so it could slice at Hikari faster.
A pair of demon wings grew out of Hikari's back in an instant, they were shaped like batwings but were coloured pitch black with a glossy texture. The moment they grew, Hikari had lowered her back, causing the wing to impale the Rei clone.
"Forward." (Rei)
Devoid of hesitation, hesitation would only bring one's strategic capabilities down. What she sought and achieved was not just the accuracy that normal people would prioritise over everything else, it was both accuracy and speed. To make the best decision and in the shortest time inhumanly possible, magical-girly possible.
This was the prime situation to break through Hikari's guard all at once and crush everything. The super enhance Rei clone stepped forward instead of retreating, causing the wing to impale her diaphragm deeper. She swung her sword down at once, the pressure tears through the air with a roar that radiated with collosal vigour, causing the entire local area to rumble like an earthquake. The only difference with a normal earthquake was there the air here rapidly shot up in pressure and shook harder than the ground did.
It didn't split the demon king apart, rather it destroyed every cell in its path. So instead of separating into halves, it was more like only 2 quarters was left. More warrior types were summoned next to her. A tank type blocked the next attack with their body by pressing themselves against Hikari, while the warrior types continued to slice her apart.
This slime was a ridiculous being where physical attacks are ineffective due to its viscous self arranging body type, and it was also completely resistant to magic attacks through absorption of magic energy and defueling attacks or complete isolation of attack magic in its body for future usage. What Rei needed to do was to get specialised warrior types with accuracy enhancing skills, so that they could strike and destroy its cells with physical attacks, and physical attack enhancing skills that could destroy a wider area and larger volume of cells at once.
All the newly summoned warriors had their swords expanded with magic, they slowly carved out its cells and decreased its volume faster than it could be replenished. And now that it was of a small enough volume, she wouldn't give it the chance to retaliate. It was just a single attack by the warrior types followed by a barrage of smaller attacks, like crazed butchers carving out meat as fast as they could.
Now to ensure the slime was gone once and for all. Final skill, [Void of courtesy]. She smashed apart the enemy's kind piece with her bare fingers, it split apart like soft tofu into an unrecognisable crumbling mess. This was difficult to use on those with high magic defences, but the enemy was now weakened by the current attacks.
As the king piece was destroyed, the slime disintegrated into ashes and was blown away by the morning wind. Not a trace was left behind.
***(Titania vs vampire)
Vampires were beings of legends for a reason. Her species was simply 'vampire', there was nothing else like her otherworldly beauty that seemed to permeate the minds of anyone observing her. This was the passive [Bereavement of aesthetics], it takes away any concept of beauty people might have, causing the world around them to seem dull in comparison.
Naturally, this would force the target's mind into 'naturally' think she was beautiful, and subsequently amplify that feeling. She wore a silvery white dress, though it was hard to differentiate the silver embroidery and accessories in the dark of the early morning. But even without all that, if someone like Kaori was there, she would be instantly smitten, call her a magical girl and try to adopt her.
Well, that was if the vampire in question hasn't done any deeds that deserve her contempt. It really depended on the circumstances, she could forgive someone like Karell but not someone like the progenitor, Zedicia. Even so, right now the one facing Davia Leslie, the vampire, was Titania the ArcMaiden of mystery. Any unsolvable case gets crushed under her natural mystery solving prowess, she who possessed the highest analytical ability out of all the ArcMaidens.
Rather, she couldn't be compared to Sufia who merely uses clairvoyance to find and read out the answer. She actually has to analyse and process information to arrive at conclusions. Someone who managed to get to the top by raising her talent with training and tenacity, her calculation abilities reach the height of all the ArcMaidens and could even compete with Triney and HuoLi who have lived for quite long.
But conversely, it could be said that she had nothing without her analysis skill [Pierce apart the revelation and fantasy]. Nevertheless, she would never forsake it. Her popularity was completely dependant on it, her identity was fully based on it, but so what? The demons would call a lofty role like hers a 'destiny'. Her pale purple hair was simile to Kaori's, but Kaori's hair was actually a white hue slightly dyed at the edges by her faint purple aura.
On the other hand, Titania fully embraced a 'witch' like look with a fully lavender hair that draped down to the waist of her robe, accompanied by a large and wide cony hat and enormous staff. But what stood out the most, was that she only wore these witch like articles in daily life. Her combat dress in 'battle mode' was a simple gold monicle with a soft leathery sling secured at her left ear, a dark navy buttoned top similar to a school blazer with a white undershirt.
Lastly, she had on a short skirt with secured spats and full tights underneath. She also wore average school shoes that were light navy with no heels. What stood out... Was the massive jet wings on her back and the rocket thruster lining the back of her limbs. Specifically, the thrusters were squarish in shape, they were the size of containers that held shuttlecocks and we're attached to her lower legs and forearms. Her wings were also metallic like airplane wings, and they were folded at the moment as she gazed at the vampire.
Who said she was weak? Haha! Oh wait, everyone did... No one expected an investigator like her to prove much in this battle, but she was still an S grade, she could physically overpower A grades without skills. The vampire's passive was on at all times, proving a little hindrance, but this ran counter to the analytical witch's nature. Passive [cosmos disassembly], anything she analysed will lose effect. This might seem like nothing for S grades who output so much magic her passive might become negligible, but for passives like the vampire's, it would work unexpectedly well.
In other words, field effects which were commonly debuffs would become almost useless on her. She wasn't mitigating them either, it simply made her body 99% immune.
"Tch, of course it wouldn't be so simple. A resistance skill? Or is it something else?" (Davia Leslie)
The vampire's pale lips slightly curved, raising her cheeks. Her soft silver dress edges bounced as her legs shifted around cheerily. In an instant, her body split into millions of bat's that converged to rematerialise her behind Titania. Analysis complete, trajectory traced. Her passive reveals the trajectory, so... All she needs to do is to use her second skill in this specific time gap to let the attack pass through.
The million bat's converge back into the figure of a teen girl in an instant, she turns back to find Titania missing, but sure enough Titania reappears in front of her like a magician's trick. That was her second skill. Anything recognised as a mystery, in other words if it contained enough magical particles, she could isolate it into another dimension. It could be used as a safe room, a way to dodge attacks, or to isolate enemies forever.
Though it might be easy to break free. Breaking the walls would make the magic fragile and collapse on its own, bringing all the contents out. Otherwise, she would have used the room to capture powerful monsters to throw at her enemies.
She turned to face the vampire once more. [Reverend ruler of iron], she materialises a vibrant crimson scythe out of nowhere, which she swung at Titania without pause. Titania brings out her large witch's staff, it was a magic item she bought that passively absorbed magical particles and could act as an emergency battery. Well, wielding your emergency battery like this was extremely reckless...
It was made to act like a staff pole, and was thoroughly reinforced to never break. It utilised HuoLi's unique extradimensional substance, but was far weaker when compared to it. Well, as long as it could withstand S grade strength, then it was enough. She could never content with people as absurd as HuoLi anyway. So right now, she should just do her job well of holding off the vampire.
