HuoLi wonders that if the world ended naturally, what would happen then? Was she some sort of phenomena born from choice? Magical girls have unique skills, they were always presented as having been born from sheer chance. As coincidental as the mutation of genomes, forcing evolution into effect.
But what about HuoLi? She lived through the second industrial revolution and world war, ultimately succumbing to incendiary attacks from a foreign nation. But that all happened in her life time. 'HuoLi the human' died in that incendiary attack, this was now 'HuoLi the magical girl' who moved to another country after the war and lived a different life until The Great Disaster.
A person who's destiny would be incredibly obvious to the demon race, who were usually the only people concerned with lofty concepts like 'destiny'. Her final skill said it all, she was meant to stop the world from ending. Rather than sheer chance, does this not seem deliberate? If she was born out of a newly born phenomena, perhaps the universe's will to keep on living, then she would definitely not die here as her predestined end lay far elsewhere.
However if she awakened to these powers out of unadulterated spontaneity like every other magical girl... Then she had a high chance of dying here. Her destiny was utterly worthless, useless garbage in the battle trusted before her very eyes. The heat, the pain, the suffering, the fatigue, the exertion of the battle THAT SHE WAS FACING IN THE MOMENT, THREW EVERYTHING OUT OF THE WINDOW!!!!!
The antimagic blade withered out of existence as it experience the end of time, dispersing into the endless void of extinguishing stars. The pain killer effect of her magical particles finally kicked in, this time it was her turn to take advantage. The end of world environment took a toll on Euclidia's body. In the terms that demons would understand the most, HuoLi's destiny had eclipsed hers.
"Second skill, [Boundary of radiance, indifference of aether]." (HuoLi)
Unlimited attack priority, unlike her first skill which produced a durable substance at a low cost of magical particles, her second and third skill costed exorbitant amounts of magical particles. But now that her well was left at 60% and she was pushed to use her final skill leaving it at 40%, she didn't have much of a choice now did she? While the end of world environment suppressed the antimagic's capabilities to neutralise magic for a short time, this was the last chance for her to win.
Soon the antimagic in Euclidia's body would react to her final skill and tear it down, bringing them back to reality from the simulated environment. In a way, HuoLi's final skill was like an Oblivion Magia as it created a territory where her attack hits no matter what. Well, the absurdity comes with the package.
She made use of her second skill which gave her attack priority. This was attack priority in the truest sense, unlike Kanou's instantaneous teleportation and attack that merely imitated it. She swung both her scythes, newly made after dismissing the previous 2 damaged ones, striking Euclidia at the neck with heavy slashes.
The impact reverberates through Euclifia's body, causing her to feel slightly disoriented from the combination of the End world environment and the attack. One disrupted the soul's concentration like a natural force that constantly tries to disperse it, the other stuns her body's functions and creates a lag between the brain and the body.
In an instant, Euclidia's antimagic cancels out the attack priority, but... This was going to get unimaginably expensive, so she has to end it in one go... She spams [Boundary of radiance, indifference of aether]. Slash after the slash, the end world environment delays her enemy's regeneration while she gradually shaves her body down with the scythe, thoroughly destroying the body until it dissipates into magical particles, then relentlessly hacking away at her skull.
"Ugh?!!! Second skill...-" (Euclidia)
HuoLi shoves one of the scythes into her jaw with all of her strength, blocking her from speaking the next words while the other scythe slowly chipped away at her skull, forming an indent. Slamming vertically by raising her arm up and then swinging it down like a hammer, she shatters the top layer of the skull which blood spurted out of. The core of Euclidia's soul had shifted to her head, so the antimagic concentrated there, making it the most dense and hardest part of her body.
HuoLi spammed her second skill, slamming with all of her strength, not wasting a single hit by putting her all into each and every slam. After a few slams, her scythe finally managed to break through. Swinging it in a curve trajectory, she used the hole she broke into the skull to scoop out a chunk of her head, as if she was spooning the contents. Euclidia slams her jaw down, snapping the scythe in her mouth in two.
She tries to activate her second skill, but because of the attack priority of HuoLi's second skill, it was put on hold indefinitely. She formed a new scythe and swung both blades at her jaw, smashing open her cheeks and some teeth, then she smashed in both eyes while digging out the nose, leaving the front half of the head gone except for the jaw. Finally with this physical opening of the head, as if finishing the last pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, she slams both scythes into the back of Euclidia's throat, bisecting it in half.
The jaw detaches and with one final attack, she perforated her brain, the end world environment causes her body to dissipate into magical particles. It was as if her body was never there in the first place. HuoLi could still feel the pain in her throat, a psychological one when her wound had recovered quite a while ago. Her body slumped down in exhaustion. How ridiculous, a being made out of pure antimagic? Isn't that also as ridiculous as her end world scenario role? It's like the opposite existence of magical girls, if she or any SS grades weren't there, Euclidia could have possibly ended humanity single handedly.
The god magical girls were capricious sure, but their existence was enough of a deterrence for many other entities from ending the world or humanity. HuoLi with her deep archives of wisdom collected over the years... Fell to her own carelessness. How ridiculous, to not monitor the durability of her weapons just because they have always been indestructible... Except for this time of course....
She had been cornered and won solely due to a last ditch gamble of fate. Would she run out of magic first or would she die after Euclidia overcomes all of her attacks? Her well was now roughly less than 5%. Because Euclidia canceled out her attack priority each time, what could have been casted 1 time to last for a while had to be cast 30+ times. If she used it all on her first skill, she could have blown away an entire city or nation with it. Her attacks were far more concentrated rather than wide ranging, so she couldn't destroy an entire continent but she could cause one to collapse by attacking a vital point.
If an S grade attacked her now, she would be far too vulnerable... She decided to use the laying debris that resulted from her battle to build some sort of shelter for rest. She used her first skill to conjure up substance to carry the rocks for her and scoop up the dirt to make a small mount. She succeeded in making a tiny makeshift cave with little supports formed from her substance. She layed inside on her back, relaxing all of her tensed muscles.
Her miko styled coat protected her body from the coarse dirt as her eyes drifted off to have a little nap. This was a little light sleep, an appetiser for true rest later. For now she was merely closing her eyes and staying in place to revitalise her mind and body. If anything were to come near, she would be able to sense it.
It might not be well known or known at all, but she was constantly using her first skill to produce the substance, she merely made it thinner than thread, as thin as DNA, so nobody could actually see it. It was alway left to float in the air everywhere, acting as a surveillance net. If anything were to get near within 200 metres she would know. As she rested, she produced more of it, which in turn extended her range of surveillance.
As for enemies who were fast or powerful enough to attack from outside the range... That's what the camouflage was for.
***(Triney, Miwa, Sufia vs Undead and divine Tengu Demonic heavenly king's and 1 divine knight)
Her black coat with gold highlights shone brilliantly under the dimming moonlight, she held a staff in her hand formed from a malformed wood like material, she wore a black miniskirt and pale blue button shirt, her knee highs and bracelets were also of a pale blue colour that complemented her cyan hair. She was the old researcher, Triney who achieved S grade after a long hard fought journey of her own.
But now, this was no longer her own adventure, it was the fate of humanity. The most logical rationale would be to stall the opponent as much as possible, even at the increased risk of death, but... Who cares about logic, she wants to win!
"Prava-" (Milixane)
She points her staff straight at the undead, stopping her in her tracks as an invisible beam of air rips apart Milixane's jaw. A strike through the bottom of her jaw and out the back of her head. Her skin was pale greyish with a hint of beidge, surprisingly she was not the type of zombie to have stitches or open wounds. Her skin was pristine smooth even if a little decomposition has irreversibly changed its hue.
The undead were generally shunned as weaklings who have already died once, though most commonly they weren't the actual souls who have died, they were actually new life that were born in someone else's corpse. Any such concept like previous life or past memories didn't exist. This discrimination within demon kind spurred Milixane on to getting stronger. Eventually she evolved after developing her own unique fighting style and even unlocked a ridiculous Prava phantasia.
First skill [Supreme organotouch that glares through light], fleshy grey hands materialised, large and small. It wasn't the conventional human sense of what constituted a large or small arm... No, it meant hands that grey to the size of buildings and sky scrapers. With a swing of her staff, an air blade flew out to assault Milixane, but it was promptly extinguished by multiple interlocking car sized hands.
Their fingers crossed on another, forming a tight and durable fibre mesh that could resist even large scale magic attacks. When fighting the undead, the conventional weakness was either so called Holy magic or fire, put simply, it was heat. Heat either enhanced the microbes on the undead body to speed up decomposition's disruptive effect beyond its supernatural integrity, or it breaks down both the microbes and the undead body.
Miwa and Sufia were busy fighting the other 2 enemies, so she couldn't rely on Miwa's wide range annihilation capabilities. That's fine. Her staff bursts into a cloud of flames, a giant flickering fire that engulfed her entire body, it gradually grew to the size of a city before condensing back into her staff, all of this took place in a single moment, far shorter than a second. Only S grades like them could see or feel the fire grow in size before compressing together.
She aimed at Milixane who stood floating high up in the air, she wore a old chinese outfit like a jiangshi, her lifeless eyes bore into Triney, observing her actions. Raising up both arms, a sea of arms materialised and spilled forth towards Triney, threatening to crush her. The staff followed where Triney pointed, flying at max speed like a missile, it disintegrated everything in its path as it flew through the sea of arms.
It collides with something right in front of Milixane.
*Ping!*
As if knocking on a glass gong, a sharp noise reverberates and persists for a short while right after collision. Looking closely, there was a large eyeball the size of a basket ball right in front of the burning staff. The residual heat that it released was enough to cause the area to be surrounded by heat haze, to the point that it blurred and almost obscured Milixane's figure from everyone else's vision.
The eyeball contained some unknown sorcery, but it was still struggling to resist the staff. *SHRKK!!*, it shattered apart letting the flaming nuclear staff through. Milixane observed that it was struggling so she barely dodged in time, allowing the staff to continue flying further into the atmosphere, before it finally collapsed from the forces and detonated.
It was as if the sky blinked as a brilliant light flashed everything in sight before immediately dying down, revealing a reddish heated black cloud. It wasn't on the ground but in the middle of the air, so it didn't form a mushroom shape, but it turned into a sphere that was imploding into itself.
Triney and Milixane locked gazes once more.
