Chapter 152 - 152 - How did it feel?

*

A few cracking sounds echoed out like ripples in still water. As countless tendrils covered by exoskeleton shot out from the cracks in the ceilings and floor, causing the structures holding up the ceiling to collapse. This caused an inevitably larger collapse in both the earth above the underground base and the ceiling tiles as they came crashing down with great speed, not to mention the force accumulated from the absurd mass.

"Incineration A protocol....

Oblivion Magia, star's wrath. " (Paridia)

An instant was all it took for the world to be died in a fuzzy light pink, no matter where one would look whether it be the skies, the horizon or the ground they stood on, it would all be the same. The sense of space was so vague to the point that it would disorientate most people. Only those who awakened their own Oblivion Magia had also developed deeper knowledge into space and time magic, allowing them to understand these spaces on a theoretical level and maintain composure.

They immediately acclimatise to such environments with their firmer grasp on their own coordinates. After all, what's the point of Oblivion Magia but to use your own against your opponent's?

The only sense of direction in this world was given by the light shining down from the heavens caused by Paridia, if your magic defence was too weak Paridia could even start the matter disintegrating light inside your body, killing others from the inside. But the ultimate purpose of this place layed elsewhere. Causing thin streams of light to burst out from her opponent, it was an enormous spider monster with a black humanoid top half that possessed 6 spider arms. The bottom half was a single spider bottom of the same black matt hue, it possessed countless pores that shot out sticky threads that sucked out magic.

By forcing its thread to pierce its own body, it was thin enough that it didn't cause much damage yet numerous enough to suck away the magic that discretely gathered in its body before exploding into burning light. In the process, it had preserved its own life but severely immobilised itself with its own threads. With the world being brightly lit in Paridia's own dimension, it had become far clearer and easier to observe the threads spreading around. Initially the threads were hiding under the dark crevices and low light environment of the hidden base, now it had nowhere to hide.

Seeing as it was outnumbered and in danger, it further wrapped itself until threads had covered every nook and cranny of its body. A purple light slipped through some openings in the threads at a narrow angle and some of the thicker areas shone a deep purple glow right under it as if trying to contain something. The figure began floating into the air before getting struck down by dense beams of light. Paridia had figured it was trying to powerup somehow, the method didn't have to make sense or matter as long as she finished the job before it finished its own.

So she fired. First there was one, and when she saw that it wasn't enough she send 3 more, it didn't take long until countless light beams were grinding against the cocoon of threads. Though, it still failed. Gaining a female full humanoid figure, the spider monster reappeared right behind the 3 a little distance away. She had what looked like valkyrie armour as black metallic breast plates sat under her exposed cleavage, collar bone and shoulders.

Her corset-like torso armour was thick with small spikes forming a few patterns, along with multiple compact runes lining the free space that glowed with a malicious purple. Her hips were adorned with a dark purple translucent skirt like garb that covered from the left side, travels around the back to the right side like an open curtain. She had 3 pronged large talon like feet covered in a similar black armour that travelled up to her knees.

Her thighs were covered by translucent white tights until it reached a panty like cloth attached to some clothing under her torso armour. On her lower back were 12 large spider legs with roughly 30 cm in diameter and 30 metres in total length. The individual legs shrunk as they reached her back, as her lower back was still fitting 12 massive and powerful tendril like legs. Each leg was coated with the similar black armour like exoskeleton with multiple joints along the way, ending in sharp blade like spikes.

How did she appear behind us? She was trapped in that array of light beams just now...

"AAH?!!" (?)

An uncharacteristic scream pierced out from one of us as we looked around. As there were only 3 of us, it was easy to pinpoint where the noise came from. Gerald stood there in fright, her heavily fidgeting arm struggled to point in a single direction, but her eyes were trained onto the object of interest. Looking lower, right there on the floor..... Was a giant lizard.

However her fear seemed to be assuaged as it slowly morphed into human form, it was a handsome looking guy with a smoothly combed neat black hair, he wore a tidy and cleanly ironed dark grey suit above his sparkling white T-shirt. He looked more like a business man than anything, but what stood out the most... Was his lack of pants.

Thankfully from that point downwards was all lizard rather than man, 2 giant legs sat in a squat as they had the same amount of joints as human legs but were twice the length. An enormous thick tail also lay behind him, swerving from left to right as his beady eyes observed our every move. He looked at Gerald and gave a crooked smile with narrowed eyes.

Some of his scales budged out or pointed outwards, forming a rather spiked appearance contrary to his initial lizard looked. Looking closely, while his upper half may look like a human body, they were actually coated with countless skin coloured scales, they were even the size of normal lizard scales so it was way harder to see if not for the abnormal light reflection of the scales.

Finally, a third enemy had appeared. Unlike the other 2 who were intelligent monsters, this one was a normal magical girl. Well... Perhaps normal isn't the best description. In some aspects... The magical girl wore a blank white mask that had 2 holes for eyes and a molded human face on the front. A metallic collar extended from the mask around her neck, with what seemed to be screws embedded into her skin from the collar.

On her right side, she wore a dress like outfit that adhered neatly to her waist before sprouting off into a frilly dress, her right arm was bare to the shoulders as it was sleeveless and the dress that covered her was tomato red in colour. A few teal blue pins and accessories decorated her dress along with orange and yellow stripes that hovered around the edges. Below the dress was a white thigh high followed by a high heel.

Now, her outfit was dress like and not exactly a dress as it only extended halfway around her body, her right side. Her left side was a completely different outfit that joined together that made one speculate if she was 2 individuals binded together. Her head was a single skin colour and her left side was completely covered in cloth so no one could tell. A smooth fabric wrapped around every bit of skin, starting from the metallic collar.

It was shaped like a long sleeved dark yellow jacket that extended into a thin black glove at the end. Below the jacket was long dark greyish blue denim trouser that ended in a common white shoe. It was a bizarre magical combat dress that made little aesthetic sense, but perhaps the owner simply likes that kind of thing. Our magical combat dresses were created out of our desires, while they couldn't be changed other than the few natural times born from magic phenomena, they usually coincide with our own taste.

'So that's why this base was weaker than the rest. Their superiors left them to die. Not that I could ever spare them after what they did.' (Gerald)

'The real enemies were gathering... We got too cocky, they should be waiting for my Oblivion Magia to run out, only to prepare their own at the end. We have to kill them before ours end. ' (Paridia)

Tch... 3 A grades. 2 high class monsters and an enemy magical girl. Nevermind the magical girl, how did she ally with those monsters. While they do become intelligent depending on the circumstance... An alliance. War had erupted between the monster Kingdom and its surroundings after revelation that there was S grade monsters that existed. So the surrounding continental factions have been pressuring them, and they still have the power to spare a few A grades for a territory this far out?!

"Fine. Ultimate move, star's embrace." (Paridia)

While a wall of light blocked off their escape and razed every bit of stray spider thread, a large quantity of light streams begin converging right above them, as if trying to create a new phenomena. It shook wildly as if unable to contain the energy, but after a small bit it settled down into a tiny black marble sized orb. More walls of disintegrating light beams materialised around the existing walls as everything converged into the point where the enemies were standing.

She figured the spider enemy had previously escaped by recreating her own body with thread. Rather than teleporting, it was more like cloning. The previous body had disintegrated but she changed form and unlocked cloning in the nick of time. She could form more than one body, but it was still one mind controlling multiple bodies so it didn't give much of an advantage. After all, she already had 12 spider legs and pass experience told her it was more than enough. Adding 12 more didn't change much except for diverting her attention. It was a bottleneck in her own training.

" Seretizia, you seemed to be having trouble." (Aubrey, Lesser Draglet Strey)

"Tch, shut it Aubrey. What could you do in a 1v3 when we're all in the same grade?" (Seretizia, Seeded Chaos Arachne)

"..." (?)

"... Looks like they even know how to speak human, keep your guard up it may be false or misleading information. "(Gerald)

Despite taking her time to give that warning to her comrades, she was the first to shoot out of the party. Converging darkness into herself as her velocity carried her forward, it looked like a black firework was giving off sparks as it flew, though these 'sparks' were actually rushing into her body to enhance her. After a long while of fighting other magical girls, it made one fundamentally different compared to the average magical girl. It made them 'experienced'.

It was an odd label attributed to the act of killing other magical girls, but it was crucial in determining the battle. Even if she mostly fought weak fodder enemies, it had also forced her to learn prudence and restrain as even weak magical girls were also human, they deviated in their behaviour to find the one solution that would contribute to their own survival. With self-preservation being their primary goal, they could resort to anything.

She was almost killed by a C grade if not for her ally's quick wit.

"Why did you kill all of them?! You know they all had their own families and circumstances! It's not like they would be here if given a choice!" (?)

Her words course through Gerald's mind, what could she be talking about? Is she referring to what she thinks it is? But none of that really came to pass. She had long gotten used to the act of killing, so it was all turned to a deaf ear as Gerald swung her arm with all her strength and darkness enhancing it. The enemy magical girl with a mask simply dodged to the right, placed her arm at the side of Gerald's punch and launched a high kick to her face.

With a clearly superior speed and maneuverability, it sent Gerald's body flying and tumbling a few turns. The other 2 enemies picked their respective battles. Seretizia attacked Myuu, while Aubrey swung his claw at Paridia.

A massive arena of threads and plants formed as enormous multiple branched trees grew against threads from multiple points of conflict. While Seretizia swung a large spear made out of her own exoskeleton, it was intercepted by Myuu's vine spear. As their spears clashed, a multitude of spears and thread soar from the ground to attack each other's vulnerable backs before they both jumped back to gain some distance.

With sweat dripping down her temple, Myuu summoned a large tree with a trunk that has the width of the height of multiple adult humans. She stared down at Seretizia while observing the battles of the other 2. The masked magical girl was holding some kind of ancient scale while pushing back Gerald, while Paridia was having trouble hitting the Aubrey with her laser attacks.
