Chapter 15 - Farewell Kesh, Hello World

Sargon decided it was best to speak with Dexril and the guild master. He wanted to ask them about the world and complete his knowledge of its geography and more. This was all done while Pharis was asleep. He learned the number of continents that are known to exist, which is 25. The land takes up only 40% percent of the surface, the rest is the ocean. This blew Sargon's mind, he knew this world was much larger than Earth but it was still unexpected. Monsterlands dominated every continent by a large margin and only a few continents are better off than the one he is standing on. The continent is called the Laughing Thunder continent. It was named this after a crazy magic user of ancient times conjured sky-breaking thunderstorms across the continent for 274 years before he was killed. His laugh could be heard in the winds the entire time too, it was a very unpleasant experience. The event itself was great enough to change the name to Laughing Thunder continent.

The story gave Sargon an aspiration to contend and defeat such an enemy of great infamy. Moving on, he got a layout of the land. To the west are the human kingdoms, the southwest the elven nation, the southeast the dwarven empire, and the east the demon dominion. The north was completely monster lands. There was a vast area in the center that was mostly great plains with scattered wildlands. The inhabitants were mostly weaker monsters, beastman tribes, and spirits. The different powers would move troops through the great plains to wage war with one another. Beyond these routes, the land there was ever-changing because the spirits didn't want a lot of war where they lived.

Sargon also learned more about the political environment. Four human kingdoms existed and were all allied with the dwarves and elves by treaty. the demons being the common enemy of their union. The demons have an insatiable hunger for battle, power, and hunger. This is mostly due to their culture, as demons that have grown up outside the dominion don't have that hunger. there are a fair number of demon tribes and families outside the dominion that fight alongside the alliance of the other three races. All four realms send combatants to the monster land borders as they are a threat to all. These were not the only races throughout the world though, more exist on the other continents.

Sargon was satisfied with this information. Before he left the two leaders, Dexaril stopped him. He conveyed to Sargon, "Sir Jupiter, your achievements of killing the malachite-level orc lord and eliminating a great number of orcs while defending Kesh has been recorded through in the knight union. Your level has also been recorded and your status has been upgraded. Now even kings will not look down on you. From this feat alone, your rank is number 19 on the Laughing Thunder continent. there are not many knights at the malachite level. You've also received the title of Master knight in the Union upon reaching malachite level, congratulations."

Sargon was too busy with Pharis and himself to look more into the system of knights. He was surprised for a moment, but quickly grasped the information and composed himself with a smile. "Thank you for informing me and registering my deeds Wizard Dexaril. I will take my leave now.", He turned and left towards where Pharis was sleeping. He knew what he wanted to do next. He wanted time and a good place to hone his skills. Pharis needed a good environment to recover from the horrors of Kesh and grow. The central wildlands and great plains near the human kingdoms are where he will go. He was close but didn't want the hassle of the mountains. Open land that leads to the monster lands would be east. He would make a camp right outside the borders of the human kingdoms and live fighting the monster lands for a while.

Once Pharis grows up more, he will turn to the wars with the demons. Fighting monsters adds plenty of glories, but war glory is still something a knight needs and wants. War glory against the demons will bring more prestige to his name and squire. Well, by that time Sargon expects Pharis to be a powerful full-fledged knight under his name by then. That day will be a great day. Now, he just had to wake Pharis, grab their gear, and get going.

When looking at Pharis sleeping, he decided to not wake her up. Instead, he let her sleep until she woke up naturally. Pharis had slept the entire day and night before awaking. She woke a little after the sun had risen. "Good morning Little Pharis.", Sargon said with a smile. "Good morning Master.", Pharis greeted back with a little smile of her own. Her turmoil seems to have dispersed a lot with the peaceful sleep. She has shown to be a tough girl.

"Get yourself refreshed and get your gear ready for travel. It is time to go on a knight's adventure.", Sargon said enthusiastically. Pharis asked where they were going while she was grabbing her gear, " We're leaving Kesh now? Where are we going Master?" Sargon grinned, "We are going to a place we can hone our strength and where you can grow up and finish your knight training." Pharis got excited from these words and started moving a little faster. Sargon followed with, "As for the destination, I'll tell you on the way. We'll say our farewells to Kesh and be on our way immediately after my dutiful squire, haha!"

The duo said goodbye to the people of Kesh on their way out and was sent off personally by the three leaders of Kesh. They had finally set odd into the huge world. For Sargon, the adventure was the start of his true beginning in the new world, no longer gathering information and playing it safe. For Pharis, the adventure was her experiencing more than just Keshin the world, the path to wonders she had only heard stories of. Despite the tragedy in Kesh, Pharis ran along with her master with a hopeful smile on her face. Their figures soon disappearing from the view of Kesh.

Back in Kesh, a name started floating around. A moniker for Knight Jupiter. Unbeknownst to him, he was slowly becoming known as the Starry Knight.

A humble villager that sought refuge in Kesh and survived the night by the familiar name of Bennent, would be the one to thank for spreading that moniker that will become a legend and then myth.
