"one sec one sec" yelled a male voice
after hearing the man yell he waited patiently. After waiting no more than five minutes John saw a half-orc man that towered over him
"what you here for" asked the half-orc
" I need 10 bundles of split oak wood and oak wood chips" said John
"5 silver" said the half-orc
"I only have 3" said John as he pulled our a string of three coins
"then five pounds of chips" said the half-orc
John looked down in defeat and accepted the trade, on his way to the workshop John thought of ways to make money him and Old man Ken have been tanning hides adventurers brought but they wouldn't be paid till they were done and he needed some money now
"Well that was fast" said Old man Ken
"no one was there" said John as he unloaded the cart
"good we can get the hides done and make some money" said Old man Ken
Old man Ken began to hang the hides in a small shed behind the stables
"Ken can I ask you something" said John as he helped hang the hides
"ask away" said Old man Ken
"is there any way for an apprentice to make money" asked John
"yea there are plenty but with what you know the only way you'll make anything is by joining the guild" said Old man Ken as he finished
"where is the guild" asked John
"they have an office in town hall you can head there when we're finished here" said Old man Ken
"thank you Ken" said John with a smile
"no worries kid you need to make a living just don't bring me up" said Old man Ken
"not a word about you will be spoken" said John

"John get going before they close" yelled Old man Ken
"I'll be back soon" yelled John as he ran to town hall

When John arrived at town hall he entered and went to the front desk
"hi I'm looking for the guild" said John
"down that hall first door on the left" said the resptionest
"thank you" said John as he walked away
John opened the door and saw a waiting room and open doorway and a small desk with a gnome sitting at it
"reason for arrival" said the gnome in a tired voice
"I'm here to register" said John
the gnome perked up as he heard this and began pulling papers out of his desk
"fill this out" said the gnome as he handed the papers to John
John nodded and sat down and began filling out the papers
"um excuse me sir do you know what day it is" said John in an embarrassed tone
"it is August 15th and the year is 1350" said the gnome
John wrote it down and finished the paperwork
'so I have two weeks till the games launch' thought John
John walked back to the workshop knowing it would take a day or two till he'd get his license
