it was a odd sensation she could literally smell someone else approaching in front of the door but neither made a single move to come in, her words from before had become law, this was a thing that Kira very much despised
but again there is probably no better time to take the bull by the horns than the present, regardless of how much she dreaded this confrontation.
Kira stood up and stretched, it was a bit weird as she could feel her own tail almost happy about the freedom provided from no longer being squished below her on the ground, Kira have always had a small tick about scratching the top of her head when having to deal with something uncomfortable it was not much different from when you twirl a lock of hair, but upon doing this she hit her own ear and kind of surprised withdrew her hands again, "well this is likely going to take a while to get used to" she thought to herself.

Yin point of view
Yin had been sitting outside to make sure nobody came to disturb Kira, even though it was a relatively simple task to prevent people from entering, had she been very dedicated to ensuring the task fulfilled, She had even gone as far as to consider what to do about food and other necessary things as she honestly had no clue how long she was going to be guarding, much to her surprise however did it only take around an hour before she could feel Kiras spiritual aura flare, she wondered if the person who would be greeting her would be the more timid natural version of Kira or the more domineering version she had turned into after almost falling over, Yin heart was split she frankly wanted both, both the Kira who had been kind to her and tried to make her treat her as more of an equal even though it should be obvious to anyone they weren't, probably only a human child would have been blind enough to not see trough the surface level front Kira had presented and not realise who... or rather what she was.
At the same time did she also want the Kira who was outwardly flaunting who she was, because this would ensure everyone knew without a doubt where they stood opposed to her, the mere idea of anyone not realising their place compared to Kira would be a deep offense, this had nothing to do with Inari which was Yins idol, but feeling Kira actively flare her spirit compared to just sensing it while dormant was not something she would want hidden away, she understood the reason Kira was hiding it was likely the same reason Inari had requested to not spread the information of her being here and who she was, but even if that was the case did Yin dislike the idea of anyone not realising their place in front of Kira, the fact that Kira had acknowledged her made her extremely proud, she was a bit confused why she was picked above Shino since there was no doubt about where she stood power wise opposed to Shino, maybe it was the initial meeting and Shino not realising her place, immediately before grabbing on to Kira, Yin could only guess, her thoughts ended up interrupted by Shino heading for them, Yin could feel shinos presence along with picking up on her scent way before Shino arrived but for once did Shino not appear to be in a hurry.

Kiras point of view.
As she sensed well mostly smelled what she pressumed to be Shino coming close she headed for the door and went out, going out she met the sight of Shino kneeling and Yin remaining standing with her head bent instead, and could not help but frown in displeasure, Kira had no desire for servants or anyone operating in servitude under her, she had grown up let's call it the environment of lower society, from Foster family to Foster family, and most of the time it had paid off more to isolate herself and just to come out when called upon that way she wouldn't irk those people whose roof she was staying under.
The mere idea of upper class society with people paid for servitude was something she would never be able to wrap her head around, those people was paid to sticking around and would just tell their employees what they would be most pleased to hear as in the end the bottom line was nothing more than their salary, this wasn't always the case she had heard of cases where the servants became more of a family to those poor kids than their blood related parents were due to a complete lack of interaction,
So while she understood the whole dynamic and the reason behind it, when the reason for servitude is money it is atleast easier to justify why it should stop, but Kira knew full well she was about to drop what would amount to a bomb on both their minds, it was like the Alpha of a wolf pack refusing to act as Alpha, which is extremely far away from the concept of not having desire for paid loyalty.
"Listen, first of all do I want both of you to stand up and keep your heads straight, I want to clarify something that might seem very foreign to both of you, and I want to be absolutely sure that I express myself in a way that does not leave room for misinterpretation" Kira said, both Yin and Shino showed surprise, most of all Shino was extremely proud of being asked to stand, but also a bit confused where Kira was going to go with this.
"Thank you for doing as I asked, now I want to explain something to you that might seem extremely foreign to both of you, but I have no desire for servitude and I don't need servants.
Yin, I was hoping you would be my companion on more equal terms, this include interacting with me if I had been anyone else, or maybe I guess not, I think the more accurate term would be please treat me like you see humans treat each other?"
Kira had barely finished her sentence before Yin had gone white as a sheet and made big motions as disagreements,
"With all due respect lady Kira, sorry I mean Kira. Please reconsider this, humans backstab each other willingly for a silly trinket, and their methods of establishing who rules and should be respected is based on how many rare metals they own, I cannot fathom why you would find that desirable" Yin said while frowning, Shino right beside her had gone equally pale and had been nodding her head in agreement at Yins points.
"I see, my mistake I guess limited exposure to humans outside those who live at the shrines and outside perspective from what you have seen or heard kind of caused you to misunderstand my intention, I can't say treat me like you would one at your own exact hirachy rank either as that would just make me a rival.
maybe a bit further explanation is due then, I'll keep this vague as I don't know how much I'm allowed to say, but while I'm now Inaris daughter was I a spirit prior to that leading a very different life from what I think is even remotely possible to explain, I don't know how much I can say on this matter, but what it comes down to is I'm not used to your current structural hirachy, while I instinctively understand it do part of me very much oppose it and dislike the idea, as I've never had desire for power" Kira said as she this time got interrupted by Shino
"Excuse me but what you're telling us is you never tried to climb the hirachy, why would anyone choose that path, only the weak or sick forgo that path because they need the others to take care of them, but without it what was your goal, what did you try to achieve while living if not to become stronger to protect and earn respect within the pack ?
Did you also abandon those who was looking to you for protection?" Shino almost shouted but managed to hold herself back in an attempt to not anger Kira as what she had implied was incredibly disrespectful.
"Thanks for your question this might make it easier for me to explain, I didn't have a pack, I grew up drifting between packs being treated as an outsider while growing up, so when I came of age did I establish myself in what I guess I can call a house of learning, I don't yet know enough of this world to give a clearer answer but essentially this house of learning allowed other packs cubs to visit and gain access to reading materials for subjects they needed to further their knowledge on certain subjects, many also choose this place to spend their time because they were being mistreated by their pack or they were too different from the other cubs, this meant I spent a lot of time taking care of what was essentially others cubs, teaching and helping where I could.
but as I was a drifter did I never end up establishing a pack of my own and as a result am I not familiar with being anything else than an outcast, this also means that pack hirachy is not something I'm familiar or comfortable with as of yet.
this seems to be a safe place for Kitsune, my question would be simple what does those cubs who don't manage to get here do ?"
As Kira asked that question Shino immediately took on a somber expression and looked down into the ground a bit before answering.
"I hate to admit this but you are right, most end up hiding out in forests, others get adopted by beastkin, we look close enough to foxkin that those who aren't in the know will likely not be able to tell the difference, some even use fox illusion, to blend in with the humans, but they are always alone, yeah ... I see now.
sorry about what I said before it was extremely rude of me to jump to conclusions but what you're saying is prior to being given a physical vessel here by Inari to hide you were you a drifter and as such are not yet comfortable with normal pack hirachy and as such wish to be treated like a neutral ally.
Now please, answer me this, what have I done to spite you causing you to only include Yin in your circles but excluding me, I realise you're not ready yet, but I do atleast wish to know what made you pick Yin."
Shino Finished while looking at Kira with desperation.
"You didn't do anything wrong, but I think you're misunderstanding the situation I'm relying on Yin as my companion because we are similar in terms of growth, from an outside perspective especially the humans would it only look natural with us interacting with each other, but wouldn't it look a bit odd if a random Cub had the shrine head constantly on her tail ?
I don't have anything against you but I'm giving you the role while I'm here as my instructor or teacher hence I would expect the same distance between us as you hold with with the other cubs, I don't think let's call it the more primal version of self understood how to express that hence only addressed Yin and decided to just let you act as you pleased as it was less of an immediate concern, quite frankly if possible would I not want you to either kneel or bow towards me at all, anyone seeing it would just find it weird, I managed to figure out how to exclusively suppress the Divine part of my spiritual presence, so even if you touch me do I believe that people shouldn't be able to tell, I will likely ask Inari for guidance in regards to illusion magic, but as of now I wish to be treated like any other Cub under your care, I was initially on my way to see you as I was hoping you could help me gain control over my foxfire, Yin made me aware that it could be quite bad if I didn't gain control soon"
Kira finished and had finally said what she wanted to say, using the analogy of packs she suspect made it much easier for the others to understand her position.
