My gaze was fixed upon the clock in the far corner of the Potions classroom, I constantly watched the arms of the clock move. Professor Snape's voice gradually faded as I stared at deep in thought. The thought of a three headed dog was kept in the building stayed on repeat in my mind. I may not have been here long but I know that the Professors would not do such a thing. Who would do such a risky thing? It wouldn't have been a student because Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall would've caught them for definite. Maybe it could've been Percy. It wouldn't surprise me if he did. Nevertheless, what is the mysterious creature hiding? Treasure? Or is it secrets?
Before I could even give myself an answer, a gush of air gently caressed my face. Then soon after a loud bang came from my desk. My gaze left the clock then fell to my paper that laid neatly on my desk. A person's veiny hands was placed on either side of my piece of paper. Gulping slightly, I looked up and stared into the eyes of my professor. Soon realizing the sound, I heard before came from him. The man's lips were slightly pursed, eyebrows furrowed as his cold dominating eyes stared into mine.
" Miss Potter, I believed I asked you a question." Professor Snape asked before removing his hands from in front of me and walking away from my desk. I stared blankly at my teacher, not knowing how to answer his question.
" Miss Potter?" The man repeated once more.
I turned to Fred hoping he would give me the correct answer. Fred's eyes softened as he slowly shook his head. He didn't know. Great.
" Miss Potter, I shall not ask again. What is the answer to my question?" Snape asked, growing inpatient.
" May you repeat the question?"
" Twenty points deducted from Gryffindor and detention tonight, Miss Potter." He said with a slight smirk tugged on his face. Sighing, I rested the cheek with my scar in the palm on my hand as my elbow was balanced on my desk.
" Anyone else know the answer? Perhaps someone that was paying attention and not daydreaming in my class."
Someone's hand quickly shot up and the professor pointed his wand at the student so they can proceed to answer. " Ah Miss Scott, please proceed."
" The Occlumens spell is the closing of one's mind to outside intrusion through use of the Legilimens spell." Lillian says before slowly lowering her arm.
" Correct answer, Miss Scott. Five points rewarded to Gryffindor. In my case, Miss Potter, you should take a note of this." Snape addresses me which causes the students in Slytherin to chuckle. My cheeks grew red. Quickly, I grabbed my quill and dipped it into the ink and took note. Not wanting to get into any more trouble. The Professor then places his wand on his desk before crossing his arms tightly over his chest.
" Close books," Snape's harsh voice boomed across the room and myself and others followed the instructions.
" Stand," Snape fixed his robe whilst we obeyed to his other order. Once the whole class was up from their seats, Snape gave us another order.
" You are dismissed. Remember Miss Potter-"
" Detention, I know." I bent down to pick up my other books only to find them missing. " Fred, have you seen my books?"
" Yeah, I have them right here."
I stood up and looked at Fred and received a cheesy grin, " Thanks." Looking ahead of me, I saw that George and the girls was waiting at the doors for Fred and I. Not wanting to be prisoned in the classroom anymore, Fred and I made a run to the doors and into the corridor with the others following our lead. Fred reaches out and grasps my hand with his free hand as his other holds my books, He then pulls me in his direction.
" Wait for the others!" I tell him.
" No need! We're right behind you!" Avery shouts. The group of us runs outside into the courtyard and that's when I spot Harry and Ron. I let go of Fred's hand and start making my way towards them.
" Iris?!" Fred shouts towards me. My body quickly turns around faces him. Fred's gaze is set on the opposite side of the courtyard. Standing there with his broom in hand and Quidditch uniform on was our Gryffindor Quidditch captain.
" You guys go ahead, I need to speak with Harry."
" We can wait?" Tesha recommends as she stands next to Cherry.
" No need, you guys go to Oliver and I'll catch you guys later."
" I'll keep a hold of your books," Fred reassures me.
" You sure? You don't -"
" I'm sure, now go on." He tells me with a smile. I wave them off before sprinting off to Harry and Ron. As I get to the both of them, I overhear their conversation. Mainly Ron.
" It's Levioooosa, not Leviosaaaar." Ronald exaggerates as he mimics what seems to be Hermione before going back to his normal voice. " She's a nightmare, honestly. No wonder she hasn't got any friends!"
I stepped in the middle of them both and threw my arms over their shoulders. Not soon after, Hermione runs past the three of us with her head down and books clutched close to her chest whilst sniffling. Clearly in tears.
" I think she heard you," Harry informs Ronald.
" Poor girl," I mumble as Hermione's body disappears through a crowd full of students.
" I didn't mean to hurt her feelings," Ronald looks up at me. I pat his head then rest my arm back onto his shoulder. " I know that, but she doesn't. Let's go grab some lunch and you guys can tell me what you've been up to."
