Jeremy pulled young Tess from the cafeteria entrance and took her inside. They stopped at the end of a long bench occupied with students. Luckily their eyes were too fixed on their food to stare at the young girl with white hair. That was until Jeremy pushed a tray aside making a loud screech against the table. That tray was holding someone's space, but he didn't care. He looked up and spoke to the only three people who mattered.
"Guys, meet our new member." He turned to young Tess. "Oh, you must be hungry. Gimme your ID and I'll get your lunch. Do you want meat or vegetarian?"
Tess pulled her ID strap from around her neck and handed it to Jeremy. "I'll have meat. And thank you."
Jeremy dashed off with a wide grin towards the serving station leaving Tess alone. The boy in the wheelchair stayed at the end of the table that lacked the built-in bench. He lifted the box drink and slurped loudly through the straw as he looked her up and down.
