Tess cracked open her eyes to glimpse the glowing numbers on her digital alarm clock. But when she saw bright sunlight instead of the dim walls of her room, she popped her eyes open.
She had to squint with connected brows from the rays of light beaming down between the leaves. The small leaves didn't look like the ones she saw at Primus. She leaned up and the treetops shifted to the dark brown bases of several trees and green lawn. The shocking familiarity carved a deep hole into her chest. Then something in her head shifted after not feeling the grass she pressed her hands onto. Was she dreaming?
