Tess had glimpsed behind to see the glass door she was about to go shut. But Lanse was who she saw standing behind her instead. Freck!
His eyes didn't meet hers since they focused on the ground. He turned away and quickly flashed from her sight heading towards the lounge chairs. The wind that blew against her exposed skin at her neck made her shiver as her eyes followed him.
Why he was behind her and so close, quickly left her mind. The summoning glove he wore, like that morning, took her mind back to what he had said.
He had threatened to use it on her if she didn't reveal what she was in the remaining four days. That was if he could keep himself from killing her before then.
Her brows knitted tightly together. Was he going to do something with that glove if she hadn't turned around to notice him? But how did she not sense him there?
