"Run to the walls!" Zack ran off in the opposite direction to head for the walls of the maze.
Szedra ran past him and Lanse grabbed Zino over his shoulder and ran with her. Tess glimpsed the back of her teammates and the wave of worms surging towards her several times. Her feet took control to follow them and turn her back to the fragment.
They leaped several feet up the wall before stabbing swords into it. The wave of worms crashed down and spread into the walls below their feet. Tess had never been so grateful for the vines wrapping around her to keep her in place. Everything was a bit blurry when she looked down. But she knew the sound of millions of squirming things tapping against each other. It made her screen crawl.
"These worms look carnivorous," Zack said.
"Not to mention disgusting." Szedra kept her head turned to the wall so she couldn't see.
