Jeremy's voice got Tess's eyes to rip open and she pushed herself from the ground. There was a distant hum in the entire cavern, and it took her mind from Zino who held one hand out to her. But thoughts of the fragment and the Elites brought her mind back.
She took Zino's hand to rise to her feet and summoned two swords with her aching arms. The pain would end soon and all she had to do was bear it a little longer. Those bastards needed a lesson not to use her as bait. Plus, she needed to be the one to bring back the fragment and outperform!
Zino was glad for the fire in Tess's spirit. She didn't mind that Tess almost crushed her hand in her grip, but Tess reeked of metal which caused Zino to step back.
It was good that Zino didn't know Tess had chains and that they burnt. She would have questioned why Tess's clothes had no tears. Her shirt was only crushed and drained of its color.
"Tess, look."
