I was sitting in a car sitting next to my husband and the car was moving fast towards his house. We were sitting apart not talking to each other. It was pin-drop silence in the car. We reached his house after a two hours long drive. His mother welcomed us. We were inside the house. I was just looking around the house. There was nothing that looked familiar and nothing that attracted me. It was just a small house that looked like a middle-class home. Well, I understood that I am not married to a very rich person but to a middle-class family. I took a long sigh and then my mother in law called my name ' Ria, now this is your home' I just nodded,
It was night and I was taken to a room and my mother in law said' This is Ryan's room and now yours too' I peeked slowly. The room was small with a bed and a sofa in a corner and with a cupboard and a small dressing table. She left me in the room and I went and sat on the bed and looked around. The colours were not very bright but we're rather pale. And then the door opened. My husband walked into the room after closing the door. I looked at him, he looked very happy. I wondered why he was very happy. I didn't look at him, he came and sat next to me. He then for the first time spoke to me' You must be tired after all this ceremony and travelling ' I nodded just wanting to be alone. He again said 'change your dress and let's sleep early' This was the first night I thought. I nodded again and went towards the washroom to change my dress. I took my own time to change and when I came out he was already dressed in a pyjama. I went towards the bed and he suddenly grabbed my hand. Everything happened so fast I never knew that my first night was over and he was already snoring sleeping next to me. I was thinking this is how every first night happens. Does every girl feel the same way as she was feeling utterly hopeless? I was so tired and I didn't know when I fell asleep. My life had changed by then.
