It was Jonathan's favourite day of the week.
He had been waiting for quite some time for this day.
It was Thursday, the goddamn day the movies would be released and today was the long-awaited day for his favourite film to be released.
He was a big fan of the sci fi genre in general, but since he was a child, he was greatly interested in Star Wars, Star Trek and the likes.
Thankfully, the long-awaited sequel to the great intergalactic saga of the Antel Empire was out today.
A story about a family of nobodies that rose through the ranks of their lands and became giants able to slay millions without a having to utter a word, a small gesture would be enough.
The pain and suffering the man, the pioneer for his family and empire suffered was of an unimaginable level just so they could maintain and control everything.
However, he never faltered along the path to glory and dominance.
As everything insight had be to his.
No matter the cost.
The film being released today was the sequel for the Antel Empire on their path to expand beyond the reaches of their galaxy.
They would face another race and a new kind of energy that would throw them a curve ball they would never have believed possible.
It could honestly make or break the entire Antel Empire.
In the end this sequel was the best thing to arrive before Christmas for Jonathan.
He loved the effects, the design of the spaceships and gears they used.
Honestly if he were in their position, he would choose something different and maybe added to the 'wow' factor of being in space.
But he did not want to nit-pick his favourite film series.
The problem was the story was based off a novel Jonathan had written when he was a child.
He had saved it on his computer at the time, which was unfortunately sold off without his knowledge by his brothers and sisters.
He knew he could not ever retrieve what was gone so he forgot about it and move on.
It was not the worst thing his siblings did to him, but over the years he got use to the torment and bullying so he for them to sell of his computer wasn't really a big deal in the end.
What kept him going was the day he could escape from the torture and never have to return.
Thankfully, the day did appear, and he got away from his family and never went back.
Since then, he had lived alone and made his own way through life.
It was around his 20th birthday he saw the trailer for release of the first film, Ambitions of a simple man.
He felt some of it resonated with what he wrote as a child.
Once the film released and he was able to watch it, he knew immediately it was based off his story.
Whoever the lucky bastard was that bought his laptop back then was lucky enough to create a billion-dollar franchise.
He tried to find out if he could do anything, unfortunately he was too powerless and weak, that he could not do anything.
In the end he chose to enjoy the film for what it was instead of fight for what it deserved.
He knew he was too weak to do it justice, so he stayed quiet.
Thankfully, people on the internet were not as apprehensive as him and they went ballistic in the film and its poor visual and artistic look over the special effects.
In the end the studios rereleased the film focusing on the areas they neglected, and it ended up raising an even bigger following than before.
Therefore, the craze that followed when they released caused such a buzz that tickets sales had already projected enough sales to beat the record for most earnings for a film at the box office in history.
As pissed off Jonathan was about not earning a dime from all the sales, he was glad about the story reaching the ears and eyes of so many people.
While he was heading towards the cinema close by his office, two cars collided causing a horrific crash where the metal of the vehicles fused together.
It was a disgusting scene to bare.
What was worse though, Jonathan had been hit by flying debris resulting in a serious injury.
People from all over rushed to the scene to help the people stuck within the vehicles, unaware of poor Jonathan passing away by the side from blood loss and severe damage to his body.
Jonathan did not even notice when his mind went blank instantly.
One second, he was thinking of the film and then the next all he could see before him was endless darkness.
'What the hell just happened to me?' Jonathan tried to shout aloud, but he had no voice, rather he had no mouth.
He had nothing.
He was nothing.
Just a faint wisp in the endless abyss.
'Where am I?
Fuck the FILM!'
Jonathan just remembered he missed the premiere of the film.
Now that he was dead, there was no way he could see it again.
But then he wondered if this was death or the place after it, why could he still remember things about his life.
The fact that he 'knew' he was dead was messed up on its own.
He honestly wanted to cry, but he couldn't even do that.
He just wallowed in silence, not knowing what to do next.
Out of nowhere, Jonathan's little wisp form was pushed through the abyss into the bright light screaming towards him.
Suddenly as he entered the light, he heard a loud bang and then his lost all consciousness.
When Jonathan woke again, before his eyes laid endless greenery and trees.
A forest of various colours and plants laid before him.
The sounds of birds chirping in the distance.
Insects squeaking close and far.
The horizon was filled with beauty and magnificence.
Jonathan couldn't believe it, before him stood an endless forest.
Before this he was walking towards the cinema to see his favourite film and now, he was summoned to some forest after death.
He wanted to shout and cry but before he could an animatronic voice echoed through his mind as bright words and texted appeared before his mind.

[Welcome Host Jonathan to the system]
[Since Host is Level 0 system is currently restricted to supplying Host only with the respective equipment, goods, services and supplies of their level.]
[Host Please… HURRY. UP. AND. UPGRADE. SYSTEM!]
[Once Host upgrades system, Host will have access to items ranging from the modern world you previously came from, as well as the fantasy and science fiction and other worlds.]
[Nothing will be outside the bounds of the system as long as Host continues to prove themselves and the system.]
"What the fuck!
Are you shitting me!
Did I just get reborn or transported in another world?
What the actual fuck!
I love those novels, but this is just absurd!
I never wanted this to happen to myself.
Come on please let me just go home!
I wanna see how my goddamn film plays out!
They sole the fucking story, but I wanted to at least see the next chapter!
Fucking Hell!"
Jonathan screamed out alone into the vast surround trees and bushland before him.
From what he could gather he was alone, and nobody was around to help.
It wasn't much different than his normal life before his death.
At least he had a warm place he could call home.
A small pet by his side and all the comfort of the items be collected over the years.
There were mecha kit he had purchased from his favourites shows, as well as miniature statues of characters from his favourites games, shows and animes.
Since he left his home, he had the ability to enjoy his own earnings and buy freely, so he had hoard quite a lot by the time he passed away.
Enough to fill a couple storage garages full.
Jonathan started to walk through the forest as he moaned in exasperation that he would not ever get the chance to use those items again or ever experience completing those new mecha kits he had just purchased.
[Host should not worry so much…]
"…What do you mean system?
Dammit tell me system before I lose it!"
[… Host will be able to summon and use items from the modern world as well as the fantasy -]
"Yes, yes, I remember, now what does that exactly mean?"
[You can summon those items you love and care for into this world.
Not just yet since the system is not high enough in level.]
"C-can that mean I can summon people like-"
[Yes Host, you can summon people from the modern world the host can from as well as fictional people.
Even characters like Homer Simpsons would not be a challenge.
However, I would not recommend summon Homer Simpsons unless you want chaos and mishap to destroy your path in life.
Thankfully, the System will manage how many can surface with the system functions]
"H-holy f-Fucking Shit…"
[That is right… how does it feel to be interrupted.]
"What?"
[What?!]
Jonathan was taken aback by the cold robotic voice to have a human touch.
He was surprised but delighted by the witty system.
It helped with the grief and pain of being alone.
"Hey system, can you help me out?"
[Yes Host, what would you like?]
"Where exactly am I?"
[Host has been transported to another world]
[The world before you is called Kithirian]
[You were transported here to create and build your own Empire]
"That is not possible, system have you seen the state of this place!
Look at all these trees before me!
How am I gonna build a single place, much less an empire.
You got to be joking system?"
[Host I am not joking.
I am an all-powerful system that has chosen you fo-
That is irrelevant right now… Please listen closely.
You have been transported to Kithirian, a world composed of many Empires and Kingdoms throughout.
For reason I cannot explain currently Host must expand his influence in the current region.
You may be alone at first, but in time you will grow Host and greater missions with higher rewards will be given.]
[For now, Host first mission is as follows.]
[Cut Down 10 trees - 0/10]
[Rewards
2 Summoning Cards
1 Wheel of Fate Chance Card
100 Store Credits]
[Host has an Axe rewarded to them within their system]
[Please go through system tutorial to understand system functions]
Jonathan did not really know what to say… he was really gone.
He did not exactly miss his family since he didn't leave on the best of terms.
However, he was glad he for the chance to do something beyond the means of his office desk.
Best yet, he could revive the world of his novel within his own control, guiding it along the path he wanted to.
[Ohh Host…]
"Yeah?"
[Please hurry and accomplish your task so you don't die…
After all you are currently roaming through the forest where dinosaurs and other deadly beasts lurk.]
"Ahh fuck… wait did you say dinosaurs?!"
Billy rushed to open the system interface and quickly ran through the tutorial that displayed the store and other system functions he could only use right now.
The system also showed the functions of the inventory he had available where he found the simple axe provided by the system.
[Simple Wooden Iron Axe]
[Quality = E
Durability = 100/100
Provided by the System]
"You got to be kidding me man… its only E rank.
Ahh fuck it."
Jonathan cursed aloud while he continued to hack away with the summoned Axe that appeared into his hands.
Slowly he chipped away at the trees that stood before him.
Chop
Chop
Chop
One by one he hacked away silently, only the small grunt of his body straining bit by bit from the continuous action could be heard.
Though the sound was faint, it harmonised with the echo from the axe clashing against the trees.
One by one, he continued to smash the axe against the trees in the area, without even know it, the system would collect the fallen tree without his need to do anything as he moved onto the next.
Without know it, he received the notification for achieve the required amount by the system.
However, he was too lost in the trance of the work that he continued hacking away at the trees and tall bushes till he ran out of breath.
Only then did he notice the large series of notifications that appeared before his eyes that he forgot to notice earlier.
[Host has accomplished the required number of materials to complete the first mission.]
[Host has gone beyond the required number of materials, added bonus will be applied to rewards]
[Host has gone beyond the required number of materials as well as other materials, added bonus will be applied to rewards]
[Host has gone the far extremes than the required number of materials as well as other materials, Titles and added bonus will be applied to rewards]
"Yoo…"
Only then did Jonathan look around to see the massive clearing he had created by hacking away at the trees within the surrounding area.
He always had a problem when he would get lost in his work and would tirelessly continue on without end until someone would have to drag him away.
He decided to have a look at the rewards he received before moving on, as he slumped down to the cold soil ground.
He could care about his clothes, rather he was left wearing his office clothes, so it had made it quite difficult to move about so far.
He thought about preserving them if he couldn't find other options.
Thankfully, he saw the system had some options available once he had enough credits, that's why he couldn't be bothered too much about keeping his clothes clean.
[Rewards for completing]
[Cutting of trees 50/10]
[Large Ferns Collected 15/0]
[Soil Collected 2/2

[Level 1 Perseverance allows Host physical and mental bodily functions to last 10% longer before body and mental fatigue settles in.]
[Level of title is beyond systems current level capacity.]

[Host has been awarded 2 Summoning Cards (Stored within Inventory)
1 Wheel of Fate Chance Card
100 Credits]
[Bonus for the extra resources]
[3 Summoning Cards (Stored within Inventory)
2 Wheel of Fate Chance Card
300 Credits

Ben was happy with what the amount he received.
He was rather keen to see who he could summon with his new ability and function be help him out.
Weird though, what really got him how the system ability to pick up on the times he accidently collected dirt with his axe and sent it along into the inventory.
He didn't believe he would be awarded any extra for always sending dirt into his inventory during missions, but it might not always be dirt.
Either way he called forth the cards into his palm.
They were simple copper like cards, similar to an atm or debit card.
They didn't have any number on them, only an engraving of appeared to be certain powerful individuals posing.
All had faces that screamed they were about to fit in the middle of the of fiery depths of hell against the master of demons till death.
He laughed at the weird thoughts going through his mind, before he threw the card into the air as the system instructed.
It flew from Jonathans hands for a couple seconds before vanishing into thin air.
Immediately before Jonathans own eyes, space ripped apart creating a small hole that seemed like nothing.
It was dark and empty.
Nothing could be seen.
Jonathan tried long and hard to see if something would come out or if he could see some light.
He thought it might be a wormhole, since it wasn't a blackhole that sucked him towards it and all light and existence.
However, he could feel a small drag of energy trying to drag things within.
But the lack of power just wasn't enough to do anything.
While Jonathan watched on, the system sent a series of notifications.
[Host has used a Summoning Card…]
[System will randomise selection based on system level]
"Ahh shit…" Jonathan only then remembered to upgrade his system.
It was only 100 credits, but his mind was lost thinking about the summons he could achieve.
Thankfully, he still had 4 remaining.
He planned to upgrade before using the rest of the cards.
[Selection made by system…]
[Host has summoned… Tribal man]
"Huh… I was expecting… Pikachu or something man!
What the fuck…"
Jonathan cursed aloud before noticing the muscular brunette hair walking through the blackhole before his eyes.
He noticed the man was wearing wolf pelt, protecting, and covering his private parts as well as his upper body partially.
"And who might you be?"
"Greetings Master, my name is…
Well, I don't actually have a name.
I don't think so anyway… right?"
"Why the hell are you asking me?!"
Jonathan shouted back as he grasped some of the grass and flora in his exasperation and flailing.
"What kind of dumbass doesn't know their own name! Fuck it! Your called dumbass from now on."
*Ding*
[Host has named his first summon a wild tribesman – Dumbass]
[Name: Dumbass
Health: 10
Strength: 10
Agility: 10
Stamina: 10
Intelligence: 5]
Jonathan wanted to cry after seeing the notifications appear for his eyes.
Once he saw his name had stuck, he knew immediately that he screwed up big time without paying attention.
He looked the poor innocent guy standing before him patiently without a clue because he was behaving so erratically.
His own stupidity and lack of attention caused this.
"System can you-"
[No.
Host should have paid more attention.]
"Ergh, fine."
Jonathan called for his first subordinate…
Dumbass, to wonder around with the axe and slash some trees and larger plants for now while he dealt with the system.
While dumbass wondered off to complete his first task given to him by his Master, Jonathan decided to slow down and focus before he did something stupid again.
"System, can you tell me how much it will cost to upgrade the system?"
[100 Credits Host]
"Do it."
Before his eyes the system transformed, the greyish hue colour transformed to a more aquatic theme and colour.
It felt quite refreshing to look at, take Jonathan attention away for a bit by the simplicity but beauty of the design.
The system design wasn't the only change, a small minute change had occurred within Jonathan's body without him knowing.
In fact, the design of the system was made that way to catch his attention to not notice the change occurring within his body and cells.
Unaware of what happened Jonathan called out for the System once again.
"System can I use my other summons together?"
[Yes Host, please wait…]
[System is making selections based on Host's system level]
[Selection made…
Host has summoned]
[1 tribesman
2 tribeswomen
1 Orc]
Jonathans dropped his jaw from the near 2-meter-tall greenish hulking guy walked through the portal with the women and man walking out before him.
Mind you the other people summoned were tall, but nothing like the Orc.
His bottle was easily 2 to 3 metres wide from his shoulders to shoulders.
Jonathan noticed the two-tusk growing out the orcs mouth upwards.
The Orc was very humanoid in his body and shape, just the tusks and his crooked ears.
"I'll assume you guys don't have names either like the last guys, right?"
"Yes Master!"
They all shouted aloud in unison, including the Orc which startled Jonathan as he wasn't expecting more than a growl or a chest thump.
He tried to check the orcs status by focusing on him, but the system informed him that he couldn't do anything without naming them first as it was part of the system failsafe.
Jonathan ended up naming the guy Ray, the two women Ana and Beck.
He couldn't think of a name that suited the Orc.
Then the name came to him, Haady.
The Orc, Haady, very much liked his name that he roared aloud with joy once he accepted his masters naming of him.
Jonathan quickly asked the system to summon some equipment to hunt and forage for the summoned people before him.
At the cost of 100 credits, a few spears and axe appeared before Jonathan, while an exceptional large one was bought for the Haady.
Jonathan ordered them to find Dumbass and go join him foraging for plants and chopping wood.
If they were lucky, he asked if they could hunt, to which they all replied enthusiastically and dashed in the direction Jonathan pointed.
As they all wondered off with the instructions Jonathan gave them, it gave him some free time to check out the wheel of fate cards and the crafting function he was awarded.
As Jonathan laid in the filth of the ground covering his office clothes, he read the description the system gave for the wheel of fate cards.
[Wheel of Fate]
[Host can spin the Wheel of Fate and be rewarded with many different rewards, task, abilities, skills, etc. The items available on the Wheel of Fate are dependent on Hosts and System Level]
"Great… Well, I might as well give it a spin]
Instantly within the system interface appeared and a button popped up with 'spin' written in the middle.
Jonathan pushed the button, immediately the wheel began to spin a crazy speed before slowing down, as the sound of the stopper flicking by put up more of a resistance.
Once the wheel stopped, a notification popped up with the name of the prize.
[Congratulations Host for landing on – Blueprint for Simple Wooden Shelter]
"Come on!"
Jonathan was not pleased with the first result, but he didn't mind too much since he hadn't thought about shelter just yet so for the system to help out a little in this way, he was actually glad.
But he did not want the system to know since it might give him a snarky comment down the road like he heard earlier.
Jonathan pressed the 'spin' button twice more before it vanished, leaving the wheel to spin before landing on the prizes.
The system rewarded him with [Encyclopedia of Stone Age crafting basics] which gave Jonathan a basic crafting method to make the simplest items from the materials current available.
Secondly, he received [Cooking utensils – Rare] which were beautifully handcrafted utensils for cooking that were made from some high-quality wooden material.
When Jonathan gave them a closer glace, he learnt they were heat and cold proof to a decent extent while also giving off revitalising and rejuvenating effects when used to cook.
It was good news since Jonathan planned to run everyone ragged, so he was happy the food could help heal and revitalise everyone.
Jonathan actually loved to cook since he was a child, however the family dynamic meant he couldn't pursue things that interested him, rather he had to flow the path laid before him by the family.
Once he left his family home, he started to cook whenever he could afford decent produce and spices to cook himself a feast.
He would use this time to train and develop his cooking skills as well as his meals.
It was something special and calming.
He was worried that he would not be able to enjoy those types of meals again in this world, but now he had these utensils, he had some hope they would help him as well as the system so he could cook tasty meals.
Once he was done with the Wheel of fate cards and rewards, Jonathan opened the [Crafting Function].
[Crafting Function]
[Host can use this system function to craft items. Whether it is weapons, equipment, accessories, buildings etc.
Host can use the system to build it as long as Host has the required materials and knowledge to craft item.]
Within the system interface, a blank screen appeared with some small icons on the right-hand side.
One of the icons were designed like a computer folder.
When Jonathan clicked on the folder icon, a complete list of items that Jonathan could current craft appeared.
The list had expanded vastly since Jonathan was awarded the [Encyclopedia of Stone Age crafting basics], all the recipes to craft the items within the Encyclopedia were inputted into the folder instantly.
From the list he saw the requirements of materials to build the items.
For the shelter to be built, he needed some stone nails since he already had enough wood.
Other than that, the system gave him the option to improve the shelter.
Materials like fur, feathers and certain number of stones could add a small fireplace and comfortability within the shelter.
Since the system informed Jonathan there was plenty of time till the sun went down, he left building the shelter till later.
He got up and left towards the direction he sent the group hoping they could forage some things earlier, but now he wanted them to focus on gathering the items to build the shelter.
As he continued on, he finally caught up with the two tribeswomen that were gathering the hunted beasts they killed so far.
They were covered in blood from the tips of the spears and axe within their hands, to the tips of their and the web of their toes.
Only parts of their delicate face with stary and sharp eyes not covered in the blood of the hunted, they both kneeled before Jonathan once he arrived before the two.
"Master…"
They called in union, daring not to look Jonathan in the eyes, they kept their heads gracefully bowed before him.
Jonathan did not really like this at all, instead he found it too time consuming and irrelevant since he was the master of nothing.
He ordered the two to stop with the kneeling and to only give a light a bow once when they saw him.
He asked the two to stop bowing or kneeling all together, but Ana and Beck insisted that bowing was the minimum at the least otherwise they would kowtow every time he came before them.
After they came to a compromise, Jonathan instructed them to gather stones and pass new instructions to the others while he dealt with the piles of hunted beasts before him.
With the systems help, he was able to store them within the systems inventory function.
They system informed Jonathan that they would not spoil within the inventory since time wouldn't flow within it.
Using the 70 credits that remained, Jonathan found a skinning and butchering guide within the system as well as tools and a bench to work on.
The moment the purchase went through, a sudden burst of pain could be felt ripping through his mind as the information from the guide directly entered his memories.
After a while, the pain settled down and the information had settled within his mind, finally he could scurry over everything to make sure he knew everything from the guide.
Sure enough, the entire method of removing the skin from the beast and then gutting to the butchering of the edible meats all were recorded within his mind.
Jonathan slowly got up and stabled himself against the closest tree so he could get his bearings before he started working.
Shortly after he summoned the bench and a beast from his inventory, a quest appeared before his eyes from the system.
[Quest Alert]
[Harvest Material]
[Skin 10 beasts
Butcher 10 beasts]
[Rewards:
1 Random ability/Skill
1 Summoning Card
100 Credits]
"…Right… Well, this isn't exactly what I planned to do with my life, but it fairs better than the office gig I had."
Jonathan started working away at the first beast.
What he learnt pretty quickly was how similar the beasts were to the ones from his original time.
The first beast he worked on was an Iron claw Wolf that was similar to the wolves he had seen on television and documentaries, however they had larger canine teeth and sharper eyes that gleamed under the light.
The claws were especially sharp and strong compared to the rest of the body as they could be substituted for iron because of the durability and strength.
Once he started slicing away at the beast, he could feel the ease of the knife gliding through the carcass before him like butter without any resistance.
The system informed him the equipment purchased from the store was qualitatively superior to anything he could scavenge or create currently so he did not want to argue, that was until he noticed the 'E' rating for the knifes quality.
"You fucking cheapskate! How dare you call this 'superior' when its bloody rated E!"
[Host has not unlocked greater knowledge or techniques therefore the quality available is based on Hosts current level]
"Don't blame this shit on me!
Ahh, I screw it, do not have time to bother with this."
Jonathan rushed through the beasts, quickly meeting the requirements of the quest and then some.
*Ding*
[Host has completed – Harvest Material]
[Host is rewarded:
1 Random ability/Skill
1 Summoning Card
100 Credits]
Immediately Jonathan rushed to activate his summoning card and random ability option.
To his surprise and blessing he received the [Builder] ability which gave Jonathan a basic understanding of construction when building shelter.
Thankfully, he summoned [Master smith Saznol] a crafting smith who had a comprehensive mastery over various crafting methods.
In a split second the information related to an amateur builder was inserted into his mind and body, while a dwarf covered in basic animal hide to protect his private parts and vital areas.
"Oi Master, can you find me some tools. Feeling a bit naked here, doing nothing."
"Sure thing, my name is Jonathan by the way."
"Me names Saznol Master."
The small ginger haired dwarf reached out with his bulking arms and frame reaching the waist height of Jonathan has he tried to shake his hand.
Jonathan continued to process the beasts after summoning a set of crafting tools for Saznol from the system for 50 credits.
To his surprise the system [Crafting Function] could be passed to a subnitrate to use on the host behalf, but they were restricted by their hosts limit of knowledge to use the system function to quickly craft or build the items.
It would restrict Saznol from crafting anything based on his own knowledge and abilities.
He could not use the systems [Crafting Function] and craft happily, but there would be processing time for it all which could cause issues if Jonathan's focus were on rapid expansion, however he could not bother since he was trying to adapt his mind to everything happening around him.
For now, Saznol left to find the others so he could begin building some shelter for everyone, while Jonathan tried to wrap his mind around how weirdly calm, he was about his situation.
It did not click to him that he was cutting and gutting beasts like a pro without any problem and no hassle or trauma from all the blood that now covered him, but he had a feeling the system had something to do with it.
With all the information rushing into his mind about processing beasts, he felt his temperament change and develop slightly.
At the time he did not pay attention since the change was overwhelming, but as his mind cleared slightly, many questions came rushing to his mind.
"System… why the hell am I able to do 'this' without losing my mind…"
[System information related to skills and abilities also brings the added emotional trauma that brings about the specialisation.]
"What the hell!
That is messed up!
So, every time I would purchase one of the information guides it is going to change my personality drastically."
[There is a way to reduce the toll on the body and mind, Host]
"Please do tell."
[Upgrade the System Host]
"Oi Fuck off!"
Jonathan did not have much of a choice, turning back to the processing of the beasts, however his mind was trying to process the system as a neutral 'thing' that could harm him if he weren't safe.
He mind-numbing continued dealing with the beasts until none were left so he cleaned up the area and left to find the others.
After a short walk he came across the girls gathering some rocks and followed them back as they led him along towards the others who were currently working with Saznol.
Within what seemed a handful of hours, Saznol had used a port of the cleared area and dug out a decent amount for the foundation of the wooden house with the help of the Orc to deal with some of the strenuous work.
