As soon as they entered the bedroom wing, they saw a long corridor that was decorated with an occasional flower vase or a couch to sit on. The usual simple style, the school wanted to keep the corridors cheaper in case any fights were going on. "I wonder how the school builds all this underground, amazing!" He commented.
Room No.22, Room No.23, Room No.24. "Ahh, finally we're here, time to relax after that huge train trip!" Mike yawned and stretched his arms up above his head. "Let's go in, what are you waiting for!" As soon as they opened the door, a flowery aroma filled their noses. "Wow, what a smell! And look at the amazing interior, I wonder why the school gives the students this luxury living place." Colin drew in a deep breath, feeling the cool air pass through his whole body refreshing himself and strengthening his liking of this new school.
The student cabins were all very well designed and were also very spacy. As soon as you entered the room from the dark wooden door, you would see a symmetrical setup. There was a small round table in the middle of the room that was for eating and in line with the door was a small kitchen for cooking. To the right was Mike's bedroom and to the left was Colin's bedroom. A nice rug was also in the shared space along with a couch and a huge TV. In Colin's bedroom, he had a comfortable bed in a corner and a working table in the other. A smaller laptop that had the school logo (A white stag with a sword and shield around it) was placed on the table, a pencil case as well. Colin slumped onto the bed and lay there thinking about everything that had happened since he had awakened 2 S-class powers! "What a good feeling," he murmured.
Colin's eyes suddenly caught a flash of light, he looked towards it and saw a metal door. He cautiously walked to it and twisted the doorknob. It was locked. A bit confused, he took out his student phone and scanned it on a keycard scanner, with a click the door opened. When he took a step in and closed the door behind him the calm female voice from on the elevator dome sounded in his ears.
"Welcome to the training centre, here you can train anything you need. Such as stamina in obstacle courses, reflexes where you have to try and hit red buttons or dodge bullets and there are many modes you can also chose from. First off, to know what you need to train, please prepare yourself for a fitness test and fighting test! Then I will produce a analysis diagram of your body and it's statistics." Colin looked around at the space in front of him, it was huge! The size of at least 4 basketball courts, it had many different things and courses, even a race car one. "Please proceed to the obstacle course number 2 and when you are ready, please begin the course."
Colin walked over to the course, at first when he climbed onto the starting platform he saw what nightmare he was about to face. He had to jump from platform to platform then rope to rope and onwards it became harder. A bead of sweat came down from Colin's forehead, that wasn't the worst thing, under each obstacle there was a huge blue lava pool that would probably demolish Colin as soon as he touched it. "Try your best, don't worry about the lava pool!"
The bubbling sound and the heat of the lava was very disturbing, but he still pushed the negative thought away and looked at his first challenge. A 1.5m gap around from platform to platform and if he failed he would be melted to nothing. The anxiety in him was building up, but not wanting to be too afraid so that he would never do it, Colin closed his eyes and jumped as far as he could.
After he landed on the hard metal surface of the platform, he looked back at his starting point. Wait why were there two platforms behind him? "I'm pretty sure I only jumped once, but how could I have came here. Unless I jumped and skipped on... Nah, that's not possible, I'm am a weakling after all!" Colin murmured to himself then shook his head to clear the thought.
He gathered all his energy and finished the rest of the platform course trying not to look down at the bubbling lava pit. When he finally finished jumping, he stopped trying to catch his breath. His heart was pounding and sweat beads were covering his forehead like pearls glimmering in the eerie blue glow of the lava pit. "Congratulations on completing the first level of the obstacle course, please proceed to the next level: Rope swing." The voice sounded in Colin's ear surprising him so much that he almost stumbled off the platform. "Please don't scare me like that!" Colin exclaimed squeezing his shirt dry from the cold sweat he just produced after the voice scared him.
Looking at the rope course, Colin sighed. Was he going to die now, it looked impossible with his physique right now. Even though he was not reluctant to do it, he still grabbed onto the first rope and started to swing to the next. Then it hit him...
The rope was not long enough for him to grab onto the next meaning he would have to swing and jump from rope to rope. It was horrifying, and under him was the hungry lava that would devour him in less than a second. Colin gulped and held onto the rope tighter than before, he started to swing back and forth. After swinging to the angle where he could jump easily to the other rope, he then let go of the rope. After what seemed like a decade of flying through the air, he reached out and safely grabbed the rope. By now, his arms were burning with fatigue and pain, pushing himself up onto the top of the rope he used his legs to keep him in place, taking the strain off his arms a tiny bit. Looking at the next rope, it was even further, starting to swing was hard but jumping off was harder.
When Colin reached the new rope, his hands firmly grasped it but his arms and body was too tired, with a yelp of fear he slowly started to descend towards the lava pit. "Is this it?" Time seemed to stop as memories of his past flashed by, a man carrying a baby with blood-red eyes running in the heavy rain. When his mum used to carry him around the kitchen and even when he awakened his power. When his foot touched the lava, no pain was set upon him, instead, he instantly was moved back to the starting platform. "The lava will not kill you, it will teleport you back to the start. The lava was added to increase the pressure of dying on the students." The voice had a hint of a snicker on it but Colin was too surprised and tired to talk back to it.
After resting for a while, a long while. The voice told Colin there were other tests to do. So he did it reluctantly because he knew that the lava was fake. "He did a balance test, a speed test, a reflex test and a stamina test. He also found out from the system, the one he just did was the strength test.
"Thank you for participating in this training, I will now analyse your results and sent the stats to your student phone. Remember to rest and relax your muscles after reading your stats, because protecting your body is the number 1 rule of life." The voice went off in Colin's head along with a beep from the results sending to his phone.
Despite being curious about what his stats were, Colin wanted to move back to his room, onto his bed and read it there. So he located the wooden door and slowly crept back into his living space. "What an amazing and exhausting experience, I wonder how the school has so much space for the obstacles in this small room! Doesn't matter, I wonder what my stats will be like."
After jumping into his bed and lying down, he took out his phone and went to the student stats app and opened it...
