I did a pretty good job if I ask myself. That line was from a very cool character who cheered his allies when they felt like a tsunami of pressure washed over them.
'Of course, that character was Raze, SMOAH's real hero.'
You know, just another way of Raze using his awesomeness to save Kaven from depression.
'I really want to meet him...'
I want to satisfy my fan spirit but there's no way I'm gonna dig myself a deeper protagonist's omen hole. Especially now.
'It's fine since I only saw the crazy bitch. All will go well if I try to avoid her at all costs.'
I smiled, not knowing how outrageously villainous I looked with my tensed face muscles.
"This is not enough to scare me."
Jashan and Polly had their eyes on me. I didn't know this. If I did, I would have tried to lift the misunderstanding but either way, I felt like the truth would be hidden.
The two looked very confident after hearing those words.
"Sharp-eyes, I'm liking that sneer of yours right now."
"Hyung is right! We won't lose against that idiot."
I nodded my head.
'Yes, we definitely won't lose because you two are so OP.'
Also, Kaven the original would have said something like...
"Fighting is wrong! Let's sort this out peacefully in a talk!"
...but I'm not him. I know of a trick or few to get away with it.
'It will work out.'
I just say to myself.
My hands are sweating and my neck is cold but no one would know... I think. Plus, I said those words despite knowing how weak I am. It was only because such a 'fight' had a slim chance of happening.
'Sir Deus escorted her, this means that we don't need to act like hostile enemies in a general gathering.'
For now, I assume we're in a good spot with... well, whoever this crazy bitch is connected into.
In the book, she would only be connected to a certain rising protagonist-filled company because of Kaven but now that's changed. I don't know who she's with. Maybe the antagonist company. That's not really far off... hmm?
'Something is odd.'
Sir Deus and the crazy bitch were in the mini stage, talking peacefully.
But peacefully? Really? It was described in the book that she's not that elegant at all. Did I read it wrong? No, I don't think so. I've been reading that trash for years.
"Hyung, is it me or does that idiot keep on moving her dumb eyes in this table?"
"...I thought I was the only one who noticed."
"Is she fucking insane? I feel so sorry for her if she has her eyes on you, sharp-eyes!"
"Huh? You brat, what is that supposed to mean?"
The three of us were arguing back and forth but my eyes would wander back to the purple hair in the side. She acts and moves with class. Her speech manner and posture are that of someone belonging to a high-class society.
There was no hint of crazy bitch that fit her title. There was just... elegance. Gentleness. She's simply, elegantly gentle but very mesmerizing to watch.
I can't look away.
I look around me and many people couldn't too.
Charisma. So much charisma made us forget how terrifying she was just a few moments ago. We were all drawn to her.
'Just like how people were drawn to... no. But is it possible? That marionette too... my goodness.'
A scary hypothesis started to build up in my mind but I pushed it all at the back of my head. It doesn't matter. I'm not going to be involved.
I should go home early. I don't want to be here. I feel like something irreversible is going to happen if I talked to the crazy bitch who's walking towards our table while looking straight at... shit.
'I'm out.'
SCREEEECH!
"Hyung?"
"Sharp-eyes?"
I looked at the two kids.
"I'm going to go ahead."
The two looked shocked then confused with my sudden proclamation. Jashan tried to stop me and Polly did too but she was still pale as paper so she tumbled back.
"You idiot! Can't you even stand straight?"
"Try living in my shoes, you blackie-bastard!"
I left them alone and walked out of the huge central hall. I saw two shadows following me so I walked faster.
'Shit. I'm leaving. I'm going to go home and pretend I never saw them.'
I was thinking too much that I didn't know something was wrong already.
But the door to the hall already closed so, if by any chance I changed my mind and didn't leave, I still wouldn't know what was wrong unless I turned back and went back to the hall.
* * *
Jashan and Polly looked at the shut door. Kaven left there and he was followed by a purple-haired girl and some figure draped with a coat.
Polly squinted her eyes while Jashan was rubbing his eyes. Then one of them spoke after a few seconds.
"Blackie-bastard, did you see the blue light that followed sharp-eyes? That light is so damn bright."
"What light are you talking about, you idiot? I was looking at the black shadows that entered."
"What shadows?"
Both of them stopped after hearing the responses of one another. Then they looked at each other, each of their eyes becoming more serious than ever.
They noticed they were looking at the same people... but weren't seeing the same thing.
Something was wrong.
