Edric had decided to leave Country F a few hours right after he left the Palace.
He sternly warned Mr. Castillon to be weary of President Moulin and his wife.
The couple were clearly up to no good.
While he was on the plane going back, Edric frowned when he received no messages from Jane.
So he went to check on his phone again and then frowned when her number was no longer in the phone registry.
When he checked further, he found out that her number was blocked.
Edric's gaze turned murderous when he realized this.
There's no one that he could think of who did this.
"Rosalie."
Rosalie was unaware that her name was already on Edric's blacklist.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Moulin once again deployed a group of bounty hunters to secretly look for President Moulin's other daughter who was none other than Jane.
Morning came and Jane's eyes didn't get the chance to sleep especially when they had received another bulk orders for the day.
They're now receiving orders from other neighboring towns, too.
So she had to start making them early.
Jane went to their small garage which they turned into their workstation since their kitchen inside was a bit small.
An extension of their house was also under construction so they would have a bigger working space.
Jane really thought that her entire day would be just fine despite her busy schedule.
However, trouble came knocking on their door when noon came.
Jane's Mom, Mrs. Sanchez, received a call that their delivery for the day was blocked by Mr. Sandoval's men.
Their L300 van carrying their deliveries were confiscated. At the same time, their drivers were beaten to pulp because they refused to give in and now, they're receiving treatments in the hospital.
As they know this, Jane and Mrs. Sanchsz rushed to the District Hospital to check on them.
Their two drivers and their delivery assistant suffered fatal injuries and since the incident happened during their working hours, Mrs. Sanchez had to shoulder the cost.
"It's fine Mama. Don't worry about it. We can afford their hospital bills."
Though Jane said that calmly, she was already boiling in anger inside.
"Mr. Sandoval." She mumbled the man's name and her gaze turned murderous.
Time and time again, that man had touched her bottom line.
After reassuring to their workers' families that they would answer all the hospital cost at the same time their two months worth of salary while they were recuperating, Jane received a call from Anton that the police together with the Mayor were in their house.
They were telling her two siblings that since they had not updated their business address to their office so their operation was illegal.
Knowing that the Town Mayor was a pawn of Mr. Sandoval, then complaining was hopeless.
But was it?
"Ate?! What should we do? They're taking away our ovens and mixers!" Panic was evident in Anton's voice.
"Ate! They are rummaging the entire house! They even found drugs in our house! Ate! We're not drug addicts, right?"
"Anton, video what they're doing secretly. Wait for Mama to go home, okay?"
What they were doing was illegal.
"Was that Anton? What happened?"
"Mama. You have to go home." Jane was trying to be as calm as she could.
"Go home? What's wrong?"
"Just, please Mama. There's trouble at home. I need you to be there to calm Anton and Naomi."
Mrs. Sanchez understood what's going on.
"How about you? Aren't you coming home with us?"
"No, I have to go somewhere else."
Jane didn't wait for her mother to say anything and she left the hospital.
"Take care!" Mrs. Sanchez yelled but Jane didn't respond since she was so focused on what she wanted to do.
She was walking on the street when her phone rang.
She was about to answer the call but then she realized that her phone was almost out of battery.
She had to save her battery until she reached home.
She was looking for someone who could help their case. She had decided to file a criminal case in court.
She knew that winning a case against them would be impossible given how powerful Mr. Sandoval was.
The man's influence had already reached the entire C Province.
So Jane's family was against a big opponent. They're like David and Goliath.
But she won't back down.
She won't give up.
Not now.
Jane visited a number of law offices in town however they would immediately send her away the moment they knew who she was suing in court.
The last lawyer that she visited even gave her a piece of advice that no one would dare to go against Mr. Sandoval in court.
The last lawyer who went against him was shot dead and his entire family was massacred. And the complainant vanished the day after.
Even if they gathered strong evidence enough to convict the man, the authorities had decided to remain passive since one of the Regional Judge and the Provincial Police Director was his comrade and his brother respectively.
Jane left the office with a heavy heart.
She was very upset.
She didn't want to take things with her hands but seems like she was left with no choice.
She was waiting for the tricycle on the street when a black van stopped in front of her.
Three men with a bonnet went out of the van and they grabbed Jane's hands.
However, before they could even forced her inside, a wall of invisible energy blocked them from doing so.
Then out of nowhere, a young man who looked to be in his early twenties showed up.
"I don't think the young lady wants to go with you gentlemen." He said in Jane's dialect.
This shocked everyone since he didn't look like a local.
Blonde hair with sharp green eyes. He was clearly a tourist.
"Go get him!" Their leader said and before they could even do anything, they heard popping sounds of their bones.
Their bodies slumped on the ground like they were jellies.
The next thing that followed was the defeaning sounds of their screams.
They tried to cry for help. However, they were shocked to learn that the passersby just ignored their call.
This horrified them and they looked at the man in horror. They had never seen him moved. He had not lifted even a single finger on his body and now they were reduced in that state.
The man smirked after looking their bodies went jelly on the ground with blood coming out of their mouths.
They didn't even know that trying to abduct Jane was the biggest mistake they ever did in their lives.
And it's too late for regrets now.
Then the man turned his attention to Jane.
He thought that like those mortal girls, she would scream in fear after witnessing such horrifying scene.
However, Jane looked calm as if nothing major happened in front of her.
"As expected of Master's woman. You're indeed different." The man mumbled to himself.
"Who are you?" Jane started interrogating the man.
Jane was aware of what this man did to those guys who wanted to abduct her.
'Did he just use magic?' She asked herself.
However, she looked around and didn't see any tetragram floating in the air just like in their world when a wizard would cast a spell.
So it's not considered as magic spells, right?
But how? She thought that magic didn't exist in this world.
And they were now inside his created force field if her guess was right.
The people outside didn't know that a horrifying scene was unfolding right in front of them because there was a barrier.
Thus, they were acting normal.
'Wait, why does this feeling seemed familiar?' Jane asked herself again.
'Am I wrong all this time?' She asked herself.
"Oh! I'm strictly prohibited by my master to not talk to you. And especially tell my name."
'Such a loyal dog.' She thought.
"I see that you're not flustered by the scene. Perhaps, do you have any knowledge about what I just did, yeah?" He straightforwardly asked her.
However, his questioned earned a question from her.
"Who is your Master?" She asked.
There's no way she would give way such vital information in broad daylight.
So if he was not the right person to talk to about this, she wanted to at least talk to this man's master.
She didn't realize that by dodging his question was the same way of saying "Yes" to it.
Instead of telling her the name of his master, he also dodged the question and raised another one.
"You're really special, aren't you?" 'No wonder Master told me to be careful when I'm around you. You know magic, too. Interesting. I'm sorry Master, I broke the protocol.' He continued to himself.
"Anyways. I should go now. Don't worry. They will not know that you're involved to this." He said while pointing at the dead bodies of her abductors.
"You should be careful next time Young Miss, okay? You'll never know when danger comes. Good thing I happened to pass by." He said and then started walking away.
"You'll still be inside this forcefield until you turn that corner." He continued.
Of course his master strictly told him to never reveal himself in front of Jane.
Yet he also told him to not let anything bad happen to her. And at the same time, he was prohibited to use his power. But how could he save her when he won't use it?
His body was too weak for a physical brawl.
He was against a group of thugs armed with loaded weapons.
They could easily beat him into pulp if he would act as a normal hero in saving the day.
And of course, since they had seen his abilities, they're already good as dead meat.
He was clearly left with no choice but to do that.
He just hoped that Edric would be magnanimous and forgive him.
"Wait!" Jane called out.
He turned around and looked at her.
"Can I invite you and your Master for dinner, maybe? As a thank you!"
She was really hoping that she could meet this person's master. At the same time her savior's identity.
Instead of answering her, he only smiled and then disappeared. (More like become invisible.)
Jane then looked around her and then left the place immediately.
What the man told her was indeed true.
She left the force field when she turned on the corner so no one would see her appearing there.
When the force field disappeared, everything inside it had also reappeared.
And of course, what came after that was the deafening screams of the passersby after they witnessed the dead bodies on the road.
Jane who knew what really happened walked out of the place.
She then waited for a tricycle for her ride home.
When she arrived in their house, she saw their neighbors gathered outside the fence and at the same time.
They were throwing dirty looks at Jane at the same time whispering things to each other.
It was certain that the topic of their discussion was her family.
Jane watched in horror to see her mother and their helpers being dragged by the Police with the claim that five kilos of drugs were found in their houses.
Spouting rumors that they were in good living condition because their entire family were drug pushers.
Even the death of her father was linked to drugs.
And that's what their neighbors were talking about.
"Shut up! All of you!" Jane yelled at them and she ran towards her mother.
"Mama!" Jane called Mrs. Sanchez's attention.
"Jane! Take good care of your siblings! I'll be back! I promise!"
Jane's heart was like being stabbed by a million knives after seeing Mrs. Sanchez's teary face.
'No! This should not be!' She cried in pain inside her.
"Where are you going to bring Mama?!" Anton and Naomi rushed towards the police who took Mrs. Sanchez.
However, they were pushed harshly on the ground.
"Naomi! Don't hurt my daughter!" Mrs. Sanchez yelled at the police who instead of listening harshly shoved the former inside the patrol car.
Jane then rushed towards her siblings. Her heart was bleeding seeing them like this.
Jane could see Mrs. Sanchez knocking the window from the inside and she wanted to come out.
The window of the car was tinted that she didn't see it clearly but one of the police knocked Mrs. Sanchez off with the butt of their service firearm.
The Mayor came forward to proclaim the fake charges they put on Mrs. Sanchez and their workers.
"We have found sufficient evidence to put your mother in jail for using illegal drugs." He said.
"My Mama's innocent!" Naomi yelled at him.
"Ate! Mama's innocent! I saw them planting the evidence." Anton told her sister.
"Shh! Don't worry. I'll get Mama out and clear Mama's name." Jane promised to them.
However, the Mayor and everyone around laughed at her words.
Then the Mayor leaned forward so only the three could hear him.
"This is the price for trying to fight against us." He then left with a wicked grin on his face.
He didn't know that someone would get back at him for making things difficult for Jane and her family.
And it's already too late for him to regret that.
As soon as the Mayor left with the police, the crowd outside also dispersed.
Jane was left hugging her siblings to give them comfort.
Both were still in shock after seeing what had happened to their mother.
What the Town Mayor had said earlier was clearly a message coming from Mr. Sandoval.
And it was clear that her mother was in great danger.
That sly man never honored his words.
No wonder Mr. Tan immediately agreed to his request. He was more ruthless than the latter.
Such evil man only deserved one sentence, DEATH.
