After Scarlet finally left, she grabbed her phone and actually called someone unregistered on her phone registry.
However, she memorized that person's phone number really well.
"I can't continue this." She said straightforwardly.
"What?" The man on the other end of the line asked her. But eventually he got what she meant when she added.
"I just can't. I don't want to hide things from her nor hurt her."
Adeline could hear him sighing from the other line.
"You're not doing anything. You're only trying to know what's happening in their family." He tried to convince her.
"I know! And that is why it's all f*cked up. I feel like I'm betraying her when actually, she's innocent."
"Well, unless proven that the entire McWilliams are indeed innocent, you have to continue doing it." He said as a matter of fact.
Adeline huffed while listening to the other person.
"Adeline, think about it. By doing this, you're doing a big favor to our family." The man said to persuade her more.
