Landon found himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Theo was throwing questions and more questions whose answers were right in his lips but he couldn't utter them.
His silence only made him look more and more guilty. The accusations the king had a lot of ground to it. All the lies that he had told on the moment to save himself had come back to bite him.
He opened his mouth to defend himself but the situation prevented him from talking. The King was furious on another level. His hair was nothing but flames and the same fire was evident in his eyes.
"Why won't you answer me?" Theo asked in a pleading tone. His heart wanted him to lie, it wanted to hear that the things that he had learned of the person he chose to give his heart were lies. It needed for him to lie some more and save his heart from breaking.
"Tell me that you didn't do any of it. I will believe you," he whispered into Landon's ear.
