Landon spent the rest of the journey thinking only about the king. He had not even taken a minute to hold his children in his arms. The emptiness within him made him lifeless.
He sat in his cabin quietly thinking of his time with the king. Their time together was quick-paced that their love had no time to bloom. His eyes outside the window stared into the night sky.
The stars were twinkling brightly as though mocking his suffering. Thunder and lightning were in the sky but there was no sign of the storm. It was yet another weird thing about Arcadia that he was going to miss.
"Landon," Sly called for him. He breathed out loudly in exhaustion. The beast's voice was the last thing he wanted to hear at that moment.
The merman was responsible for taking him away from Arcadia.
