Our eyes weren't playing tricks on us. We were riding toward Kartesia, the Golden City.
"Typhon, you liar!" Sakimi said. "Those buildings aren't gold! They're just painted yellow!"
"Gold is just yellow with attitude," Typhon said.
Welp, I couldn't argue with that flawless logic.
"Let's make a quick stop here," I said. "I'm sure everyone needs a break, but let's not stay for too long."
Typhon angled his head upward to scan the streets. "Where's the fountain of youth?"
"It's probably just a normal city," Hashimov said.
When we entered, a few of the passerby stared at us like we were members of a circus. Strangely enough, each person held a basket of food in their hands.
The city itself looked pretty normal. It was similar to Eden in that it had many one-story buildings and only a few that were above two stories. The architecture was simple, too, based on old English towns.
