"You hid your real name from us?" He said to me while claiming himself down.
"From you? No, Paul, I hid it from the world I guess." I said stirring my glass and taking a sip from it.
"God, I think I don't know anything about you. Now I am more interested Rea or I should call you Andrea?" He asked eyeing me.
"You can call me anything Paul. But I prefer Rea from you." I said and he raised his eyebrow but I dismissed it.
"Please go ahead, Rea." He said and I nodded before continuing.
"You see I was born in New Orleans. I was the result of one night's stand so I don't know who my father was or how he looked like. My mother, Ava Miller took my responsibility by playing the role of a single mother. As she was pregnant with me when she was 17, her parents threw her out and disowned her. She started working at a café in the morning and clubs at night as a bartender." I started.
"So, your dad must be having brown eyes, because Zac told me your mother had green ones." He said with a smirk, taunting me as he mentioned my mother.
I smiled at him saying, "Maybe".
"The club was owned by Zac, and he only use to come on weekends. Max was a kind manager of the club who gave my mom a job when she was in need. Mom use to take me with her to cafes and clubs. Everything was going well, we had a place to live, mom had two ongoing jobs. When I turned around 11 years old, one night happened and everything changes." I said remembering all the screams and blood from that night.
I filled our glasses again, Paul dint said a word and let me continue.
"I was in Max's office with his grandson. Jason. Who was around my age, two years older than me? He had black hair, black eyes, and fair skin, Jason." I said and looked at him, Paul had a smirk on his face with curiosity filled in his eyes.
"Ah! So, you have a heart. That's interesting to know you had a crush on little Jason there." He said with a genuine smile on his face which I returned.
"Well, Max had no family besides Jason. So, he use to bring him to his office most of the time.
"Hi," I said with a smile on my face to a boy who stood in front of me. He was a year or two older than me, his black eyes made me curious and integrative.
"Hello, crazy head." He said with a smirk on his face.
"My name is Andrea, not the crazy head," I said as my lips pouted. He smiled looking at me.
"Hello Andrea, I am Jason. Max is my grandfather." He said kissing my head to which I blushed like crazy.
"Will you play with me, Jason?" I asked and he replied with, "Well, you see it depends on the game, Andrea. But of course, how could I say no to a beautiful girl like you." He said making me redder. Looking at my reaction he laughed.
His laugh was nice, like music to my ears. Peace.
"Andrea!" my mom called me as she entered the room. Blonde hair and green eyes. She kneeled in front of me with a smile.
"Mom," I said looking at her with a grin.
"Oh hello, Ms. Ava," Jason said with a smile.
"Hello Jason, I just wanted to give Andrea something." She said turning towards me. She gave me my contact lenses.
"Sorry momma, I forgot to wear them before coming here," I said bowing my head down.
I had the same green eyes as my mom. Beautiful forest green.
She made me look at herself by softly grabbing my chin before smiling at me.
"It's ok baby, but keep in mind these are very important for you to wear. I want to keep you, safe baby. You understand right?" she said putting them in my eyes for me as I replied to her with a nod.
"Good girl." She said as she went outside the room.
I turned my head towards confused Jason how had a cute frown on his face.
"What?" I asked with a giggle
"Nothing." He said before smiling down at me. He took my hand in his before guiding me towards some of his toys.
"Come on you, crazy head." He said making me chuckle.
"So, these are contacts." Paul pointed towards my eyes. To which I nodded my head taking the last sip of my wine.
"Can I see your real eyes?" He asked me with hope in his eyes.
"Someday Paul," I said with a knowing smile that he would never. The only people who saw my eyes are my loved ones once and that is very few.
