Chereads / Andrea Grey / Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

After I escaped from Zac, Ben took me Taxes. After some months I got a small place in an apartment with a decent job at a café. Ben was doing his missions with a job, that was of keeping an eye on me.

When I was almost settled there with my living, I was around 18-years-old. Everything was going smoothly until one day when I was closing the café.

I was cleaning the counter while soft music was playing in the background when I heard the bell ring signing that the door opened.

"We are closed, sorry!" I said without turning as I continued doing my work. Hoping whoever it was will leave by themselves. But, when I didn't hear the door opening I turned around with a frown.

As soon as I turned, my breath hitched and my eyes went wide.

"Hello, crazy head." He said with a grin on his face.

"Jason…" I barely whispered.

There stood a man, near the door. Almost 6'2 tall, his black hair neatly combed back, his black eyes were sparkling with adoration and … tears. He was wearing a black suit. He looked very handsome. He was the same Jason but a little bulkier, he had grown muscles now.

"How are you, Andrea?" he asked me softly with a worried voice. Instead of answering his question, I ran to him, jumping on his as I hugged him. He immediately wrapped his arms around me. I took a deep breath, taking him in. He smells the same, home. Peace.

"You came" I whispered

"Of course, I promised you to dint I?" he said as I nodded my head on his broad shoulder.

"God, I missed you." He said hugging me tighter making me chuckle.

"I missed you too, Jas," I said kissing on his neck.

"I am sorry I didn't find you earlier." He said as sadness was evident in his voice.

Pulling back a little I cupped his face in my hands and smashed my lips on his. The kiss was soft and loving.

"It's okay, what matters is that you are here now… You are single right?" I asked the last part narrowing my eyes at him with a serious look on my face.

I jumped out of his embrace, tilting my head a little with a pout and a frown as he started laughing.

"Am I single? Yes, I am. Why? … Because I am in love with you for so many years Andrea. Always have and always will." He said as he looked at me with a smile.

"That's good. Because if you had someone, I would have fucking killed her with my beautiful knives. Because I love you too Jason. Always have and always will." I said sincerely.

"I don't doubt any of it, baby." He said chuckling as he took me in his embrace again.

Horn, Horn…

"God! Traffic…" I said looking at the traffic in front of me. I changed the road and stopped at a diner down the street. It's almost 10:30 pm, I stop for my dinner.

Fixing my hair, a little bit I went into the diner. It's packed and cozy. I took the corner table which was empty as the view was amazing. Ordering my meal, I scanned the diner.

Everyone was talking and eating with each other. Laughs and chatters filled the air. About 50 people are here, all with different stories and different experiences. All have a different life than they all pretend. Happy and sour moments, some were with families and some with friends.

Some are with friends who are enjoying their time out with each other. Time away from their family and their problems. Just enjoying a few happy moments with each other.

Some are with their families, Parents teaching their children how to eat and showing their children how the world is. Children enjoy their meals wholeheartedly.

Some are with their lovers. Spending some quality time with each other. Getting to know each other, making and breaking some promises for and to each other. Planning some unplanned dreams with each other.

Some are alone like me. Busy in their thoughts, books, or phones. Running their mind while keeping their mouth shut. Talking to themselves about some of their good or bad deeds.

Life.

I am always alone. Even if we do have someone beside us, we are always alone. We are responsible for anything and everything that happens in our life. No one to blame, but ourselves.

I have fought for everything in my life. I have made myself strong over the past years. The one thing that I never had and wish to have is … Family.

I never had one, but now I have. I have a loving and caring husband, two amazing and healthy babies, supportive in-laws. A home, a family. Peace.

I smiled at the thought and at the same time my dinner came. Thanking the waitress, I started digging.

After having an amazing and delicious dinner, I hit the road again. As I didn't need to stay anywhere at the night. Because I was not planning on trying on sleeping. Perks of having insomnia, I was being very impatient about going home. I want to be there as soon as it was possible but also want to enjoy being alone.

I turned my songs on and saw the sky turning its color from night blue to black. Few stars twinkling in the sky with a half-moon bought a smile on my face.
