Chapter 4 - Blood Tests

Titania saw the notification he was stunned. As not only did he get get the blessing, at least the most basic version of it, but also he had somewhat of an interaction of the entity. The entity in the previous game had very little records but one of the most common information known about it was that it had also preferred solitude, which was believed by players to be the reason for the its death.

After the players heard about the death of the entity the whole community went into a sorrowful mess. The reason why was because it was one of the very few npcs that can grant players talent, nonetheless a good one as well. Soon after the death of the entity, the players did research into find who the culprit was, after they did the players would hunt them done to the point where the culprit quit the game.

Titania quickly checked his status to see what the talent he got was.

After reading the talent Titania happiness was through the roof. He pumped his arms in the air and did a little dance. He soon stopped as soon the cold air assaulted him all over his body. Titania was so caught up in the moment that he forgot to clean himself from the stinky fluids that clung to his body.

Titania careful grabbed the spare scrubs that Reese left for him as to not get it dirty and went to take the shower to clean himself.

After showering he dried himself off with a towel he found under the sink in the bathroom and put on the scrubs. After he was done he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He stared at his reflection as though to see through a illusion. He touched his cheek with a light tap and watched it bounce back. He ran his fingers through his black hair and felt resistance. He got closer to the mirror and stared at his eyes, still dark as the abyss. He leaned away from the mirror and looked at his arm, his skin the same color as the last time he saw it. He ran his opposite hand across it, 'Smooth,' He thought. He felt no uneven bumps or saw no scars from injuries. He noticed his hand seemed different, he stared at his nails and they seemed pointed and were the color black. They seemed sharp enough to cut through paper but not enough to injure himself. After a while of staring he made the final realization that this is his new reality, a new home.

He left the bathroom and waited in the living room for the researchers to do the tests. He sat on the couch twiddled his thumbs in wait. While he waited he checked his status again, not because of the status conditions but because he wanted to know what his main class was.

Main Class: Carrier of the Infection [Stage: 1]

Note: Due to [Talent: Perfect Host- Titania] the first stage will be shortened to 3 days.

As Titania read the description he curiosity peaked. He had no idea what the main class will be as he had never heard of it in any of the forums or in-game documents. From what he could see it was a biological change that occurred to him while he was in the cocoon. While he was excited from what his new class would be he was a bit saddened that he lost his choice of picking a main class.

'Know that I think about it,' He fantasied to himself, 'I would've picked the psychic or mage.' While he thought of this he was reminded of his main class. While he didn't know what it was or what it could be he knew one thing about it right now, he was weak.

'I wonder if I gain experience and level up the main class could I shorten the duration of the first stage?' Titania thought to himself. While he was happy with getting a class that no one had before he didn't like the thought of being vulnerable, he didn't even know how weak he was because his attributes were still randomizing. Titania knew that if he played his cards right he could kill everyone in the facility and reap a massive amount of experience from doing so.

But instead he calmed down and had to be reasonable, there could be more benefits from staying in the facility and joining the Imperial Misty Serenity Republic. Also he needed to know more about his main class and the infection, after all this is a research facility.

After a few moments of debate, he choose to stay in the research facility and work with Imperial Misty Serenity Republic. Titania saw more benefits and there wasn't a need to be public enemy number one to everyone. Later, there was a knock at the door.

Titania already knew what to expect and opened the door. There was a pair of two researchers each with a tablet in their hands. They each stepped to the side. Titania saw this and walked out of the room. The two researchers walked in front with Titania following in back of them. After a short moment Titania try to make some small talk with the researchers to pass the time on the way.

"How is your day?" Titania said to researchers. Titania wanted to talk to pass the time as he found the silence between them tense. The researchers kept facing forward with a still impression on their faces. One of them glanced at their watch quickly and then faced forward, "It's night, subject Zero," The researcher said, making a turn down a hall, "The correct question is 'how is your night?'"

Titania smiled in anger at the researchers who won't even make eye contact with him. 'It doesn't fucking matter what time of day it is the question is still the same!!' He thought in anger, he let out a quiet sigh as to not let the others know. He swallowed his spit and cleared his throat, "My apologies," Titania said, "How is your night?"

The researchers still kept their face forward and kept on walking. "It is good," The researcher said in response to his question. This secretly infuriated Titania, 'For fuck sake it's like pulling teeth with these people,' he shouted his mind, 'Give me the details of your day please, DETAILS!'

Titania kept trying to make small talk on the way to the room for tests only to receive short, curt answers. He got a bunch of sighs, nods, yes, and no's. When they finally stopped at the door and saw on the researchers pull out a card to open the door Titania let out a slow, silent sigh in relief from his personal hell of people not talking and walked in the room.

The room was white with bright lights from above and from the side. There were other researchers in the room prepping diagnostic machines all wearing their white coats, they had rubbers gloves on as to not dirty anything. In the center was a white bed with various equipment around it. There was a person directing them, giving orders in a clear calm voice was Beliz, the head researcher. When he heard the door open he glanced at the door, the moment he saw Titania he let out a faint smile.

Beliz stopped what he was doing and went over to Titania. He looked at him in the eyes as though to study him. He removed his faint smile, "Hello Titania, I am the head researcher here and as well in charge of this facility," He addressed Titania in a stern voice, "I will be conducting your diagnosis with the assistance of my helpers."

Titania flashed a nice smile at him and extended his hand. He didn't want to offend the person in charge of the facility as he could grant him many benefits, not only within the facility but also with the Imperial Misty Serenity Empire landing them on their good side. He knew that if he were to join the empire they would be suspicious of him as he would be considered a research subject, but if the head researcher were to give him a good recommendation then it could be smoothed out. "It is so nice to meet you," Titania said, "If you don't mind me asking what is your name?"

When Beliz heard this his eyebrow twitched, which didn't escape Titania's sight. Beliz flashed a smile back at him, "My name is Beliz," he said as he shook Titania's hand. Beliz then tapped the white bed and Titania immediately knew what to do and got on the white bed. Beliz back away and went back with the other researchers, before Titania could ask a question Beliz gave him an answer.

"No, we aren't going to look there," He said before he started giving orders to the various researchers. 'Thank god,' Titania said to himself, while he knew that this was a diagnosis but he wasn't going to give up the goods.

"Alright Titania," Beliz said to Titania with his tablet on his hip, "The first test we are going to do is a blood test." Beliz gave a signal to the group of researchers. A researcher carrying a needle with a thick vial and a thin ribbon emerged from the group and went up to Titania. The researcher grabbed Titania's arm and began to roll up his sleeve past his elbow. The research looked at his arm and let out a surprised smile, "Oh yeah," the researcher said to Titania, "You got a nice vein on your arm."

The researcher pulled out an alcohol swab from his pocket and began to prep his arm. The researcher finally took out the needle and uncapped the top. The researcher looked at Titania, "I am not going to lie," the researcher said as to warn him, "It's going to hurt like a bitch." It did.

They took three vials of blood from him and patched up the small wound with some gauze. "Send one to the lab and the rest to storage." He said to the researcher with the vials in his hands. He began to type something on his tablet and then put it down. "Now that the painful part is done. Let's move on to the others."

Beliz and his researchers did various tests on him, from x-rays to scanning his brain to testing his reflexes with a tiny hammer. As he did these tests the researchers wrote down nearly everything, not a single action escaped their eyes. During this Titania made no attempts to make friends with them or talk to them which he didn't mind as he knew it was like pulling teeth.

"One last test then wall get to go home people," Beliz said announced in a clear voice, "The magic potential, or talent as some people call it, test." Titania was still sitting in the same spot for all of the past test and he was at the point were his butt was beginning to hurt. When he heard this a small spark of hope lit in his chest, 'Maybe there is a chance for me to a mage,' he thought to himself and began to start day dreaming about it.

A researcher then went up to Titania and put his palm on his chest and began to scan his body. During the scanning Titania didn't feel a thing, much to his disappointment, he was expecting to feeling energy course through him or even discomfort but alas nothing. After a moment the researcher back away and went to Beliz and whispered something in his ear. Beliz immediately typed something on his tablet and then put it back down. He clapped his hands, "Alright we're done people," He declared to everyone, "Let's pack up our thing and someone call up the clean up crew."

Titania got off the bed and the same two researchers went to him and guided him out of the diagnosis room and showed him back to his living quarters. Titania bid them farewell and crashed on his bed.

Beliz was in his living quarters still typing notes from the events that happened today. He was a in a furious mood. His grip on his tablet was the equivalent to a choking someone to death. He tapped on the tablet for voice memos.

"It appears that during the process of being assimilated with the subject known as the "Infection" subject Zero, also known as Titania, has possibly had his memories of altered or removed. If this is true then there is also chance for his personality to change, turning subject Zero into a new person. End of notes."

When he stopped his threw his tablet at the couch and let out a barbaric scream. He began banging it against the couch repeatedly with his fists until they felt raw. When he ran out of energy from his burst anger he lied on the floor. A tiny tear appeared on his eye.

"I hope he still remembers," Beliz mutter quietly to himself.
