Chapter 6 - Information Storage Room

As The Entity waltzed sown the halls of the facility she stared at the ID card that was made for her. While she was disgusted with the man that made it for her, she did have to admit that the researcher got her on her good side.

She put the ID away in one of her lab coat pockets and conjured a map of the facility. She scoured the map until she found the room that she was looking for, the information storage room. She saw that she wasn't far from it, as the room was only a few more twist and turns, and began her walk.

On the way there she glanced at through a window and saw the dark forest that surrounded the facility. The forest seemed tranquil and quiet, at peace in some way but she knew that this was false. That in the forest such things didn't exist, in there was a constant fight for survival. She returned her focus to walking down the halls.

After some time she found the door to the information storage room. It looked the same as every other door in the facility, plain with no designs and a small pad to scan keycards. The Entity took out her keycard and held it to the scanner.

"This better not be a goddamn restricted door that only allows certain people in," She said to herself. Soon after the scanner shown a pale green color.

The Entity wiped the sweat off of her eyebrow and reached the door. However, someone opened it on the other side.

'Shit shit,' She thought to herself as a bunch of thought went through her head. Was there a schedule that allowed people to be here? Did they have stations? Such thoughts went through her head.

When the door opened the Entity saw who it was she raised her eyebrows is surprise. It was head researcher Beliz!

They looked eyes for a moment and stared at each other in silence. Beliz was the first to speak and asked her a question, "Who are you?"

The Entity panicked for a moment and blurted out a name that came first to her head, "My name is Leonor," The Entity said with as much confidence as she could muster in this situation. She stared nervous into Beliz eyes nervously and began to notice something off about them.

Beliz eyes seemed to be sunken into his skull. He had heavy bags that where starting to turn purple. The area around his eye seemed to be red and blemished. His eyes were bloodshot.

Beliz muttered something under his breath and then left Leonor, his steps echoing down the hallway. She let out a sigh of relief and head into the storage room.

The storage room was filled filing cabinets and with computer terminals that lined the walls. The room was brightly lit, so much so that she couldn't see her own shadow.

She contemplated herself which way she wanted to go, read physical copies or go on the computer. She eventually chose the computer as it would take less time to look for what she wanted.

In the room there was one computer that was out and she walked up to it an activated it. After letting to computer do its thing of warming up she immediately began to search about Titania and what made him so unique. She typed in the keyword 'Subject zero' as that was what she heard them call him. She immediately gotten files related to it, but there seems to be very few. All the files were numbered. She clicked on the first one and started reading

Known Information of the 'Infection'

The organism known as the 'infection' is a form of bacteria that forms with a parasitic bond with the host's cells. It was first founded by a team of researchers dispatched to the site where it was first diagnosed in [REDACTED]. Their original goal was to study it, then treat all the people who had it in their system and collect samples of it for further study. People that had it in their system suffered from the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, trouble eating, blisters covering the whole body, involuntary movement of limbs, and sweating.

What made this organism stand out amongst the rest was that regardless of treatment method, antibiotics, radiation therapy, and even [REDACTED], the organism was still found in the host's body. This naturally sparked interest not only in the research department but also in the military.

Under orders from higher ups they were ordered to stop treatment of the people that had it in their systems and were only allowed to collect samples and observe.

After some time all the people in [REDACTED] had the organism in their system. Later during the research mission nearly all of the people that had it were dead, nearly all. There was one survivor that was able to endure the infection. The researchers took the survivor in and began testing and found out several things. The subject's cells have bonded in some way with the infection, leading to multiple 'enhancements' to the survivor's body. These 'enhancements' were improved physical strength, higher endurance, and faster speed. However this was not without flaw, under many observations both visual and cellular, it appears that the survivor cells' didn't bond perfectly, actually seemed very poorly. This was the researcher's hypothesis from the other observations made about the survivor. In the survivor's body were multiple tumors growing at different paces, vomiting any food given, and blood poured out of any blister agitated. The survivor died shortly being taken in so no more further observations could be made by now. All the bodies were collected and every sample of the 'infection' was sent to [REDACTED].

"Well I can guess where everything was sent," Leonor said to herself.

Now her curiosity was peaked once again and thought about staying around the facility a little bit longer.
