It was after lunch. Rekka and the Overlord Lilith were sitting idly, both of them had been chatting all morning. Rekka had discussed the matter in the town he lived in now.
Lilith said that she wasn't given any information of that sort and further explained that no other lords even knew about it.
As Rekka thought about all this, he also understood that the overlord was revered too much here. Since That was the case, people thought that the overlord should only look over the matter concerning the whole nation and the outside of it. That was probably the reason the information was blocked. Since the overlord was hiding some topics from Rekka as Rekka understood in their long time of conversing, he could only think about the overlords pact schedule.
For now Rekka didn't dabble in national affairs. After those talks were over, Lilith and Rekka had gotten even more closer, not in a romantic way. No, it was more like ;Pals for life. Since Rekka lived more than 40 years if combined his first and second life and the Overlord was also in the same age length, both of their minds mingled that way. He may have turned into a little kid but finding an adult company was very soothing in another way.
"Hey, what do you think about my daughter Leila…?" Lilith looked like she already knew that her Daughter had gotten a soft spot for this guy, so she just couldn't let this opportunity slip by.
Rekka got a little red after hearing that. He had a crush on Leila the first time he had seen her, for some reason her aura just made him feel that way.
"I think I like her….? But ...I also think I am a little too immature to approach her…." Rekka said what he really thought about. Rekka may have approached Leila at that time, but it was just a fluke.. No matter what Rekka did now… there was just no way to reduce their age gap after all, not to mention… Leila might feel Rekka's behaviour is hindering… he knew for sure that she had many suitors wasting her time already.
Lilith nodded hearing that. She also got that point. It was true, they were at least 7 or 5 years apart in age but the most concerning matter was, Rekka had entered his teen years not so long ago. Still in this world where even 15 year old's were considered adults, it didn't really pose that much of a problem. As Lilith thought about all this, she herself couldn't believe that Rekka was only entering his teen years and already had a preference for women… Certainly the blood of Melinda ran very deep in this generation too. thinking about how Leila was well endowed in every place needed, Lilith wondered if she should be proud as her mother or just feel worried that she was gossiping with her possibly future son-in-law about this romance matter now.
"You know what? I can't believe she would give you a chance you know….?" finally Said Lilith with an aloof air, she didn't say that Leila had written that she was interested in Rekka, although that didn't entail anything romantic, but it was the first time, Leila had ever been interested in any man. She wanted to see what Rekka would do to approach her daughter.
"No, actually I already said to her to wait if she could, you know, before I came here..." Said Rekka, remembering the last encounter with Leila. But hearing that her daughter had already exposed her card, Lilith got dumbfounded.
"Tell me the whole Story…!" Lilith couldn't hold back her curiosity. Her daughter who had avoided men for 16 years straight had made a move even before telling her mother, the last time Leila was happy over some man playing with her, was when Merlin played with her when she was just 3, and within the coming year, when she had become 4 she even stopped playing with Merlin, Lilith had gotten even more interested in the matter now. Although Rekka said that she only wanted the soul stone, Lilith knew that Leila wanted to see more than that, she probably wanted this guy to at least show her his true nature. Had Leila not been interested in Rekka, she never would have done that even for the soul stone.
So after the flashback was over Lilith said one thing.
"Are you really a kid?…" It was true, Rekka had enough experience with women in his 2nd life that he could perceive many situations with women. Still, he wasn't really an all knowing love master, that's why he still would be nervous in the topic of love but nevertheless, for him it was enough to not be a dense MC in a Rom-Com Novel. Had he not lost his memories from his 2nd life, he might have looked more mature and confident but that was certainly not happening. For now Rekka only felt that he had accomplished enough in his second life to not feel like a virgin at least.
"Even though I am a bit uncertain about that subject, I at least believe in this body that clearly looks like a kid."
Rekka protested that.
"Ho ho! you are not denying that you have outgrown your body huh….?" Lilith tried to poke fun at him but got a weird answer to that.
"Well I have the Love goddesses blessing, I was told that I'd eventually leap over my body's development. so I can't argue with that.'' Hearing such information, Lilith also became silent; she couldn't handle the sudden confession.
"Is that why…?"
"Yeah that's why it's easy for you to become friends with me...I can become friends with any living soul out there… that's what the blessing does and if I am infatuated by someone, they would also be drawn to me because the blessing would start to work at the time. No one can keep their guard up against my advances. still, it's not like they would just automatically fall for me, they have to have a interest for me." Rekka had gotten close enough with Lilith that he confessed his blessings. Lilith also understood that fact and her mind made another thought.
"Hey does that mean you were not infatuated by my beauty… Cause I just think we are getting into friendship there."
"The first time I saw you I understood that Leila was your Daughter, I mean how could I have that sort of feelings for a mom whose daughter I liked? Are you crazy…!" Rekka said in a fluster. He was infatuated of course, it was Lilith's beauty that had passed on to her daughter but since this fact was clear to him, his infatuation didn't really progress that far and also since he was already used to beautiful women in his 2nd life he could easily divert that infatuation. At this point, only Leila seemed to be the anomaly that Rekka couldn't avoid.
"Ooh… Well I also didn't mean it like that…. But you know, I thought that I was too old in your mind. I mean come on, there isn't a person in this country who can talk to me like this…" That was True, Lilith liked this type of friendship as if she was on an equal footing with someone. No one in the whole country would talk to her like that. Even though her masters could casually talk to her, it wasn't like she could think of them as equal to her, so in this regard, Rekka was someone out of the box. He was Irregular to be precise. so Lilith was happy to find this unexpected development.
"Well it was nice to have a casual chat with you overlord, so I think I should be on my way now, I did only ask for 3 days after all." Rekka said while getting up from his chair.
"Hmm… Yes, It's been refreshing talking like this, hey Rekka, just call me Lilith, I think of you as my friend also as a new friend let me ask a favour from you." Said Lilith with a little smile.
"Hmm….Okay…" Rekka felt something was off but as seeing that Lilith had already shown him so much kindness, he accepted to do a favour.
"All right, bye then, come visit again. It was nice… and the favour…. just go home you will see.."
"I think I just accepted something troublesome…."
Lilith saw that Rekka had a good gut feeling too; she was not really that surprised at this point, so she just bid farewell.
As a maid escorted him out, she could feel the spiritual presence was also going away. Lilith didn't think about it much. After today, she could believe Rekka. This long conversation had proved to her that this boy could be the one who could destroy the barrier between humans.
"The thing that the strongest human heroes couldn't do...?" As Lilith thought this, she saw Rekka was soon gone from her view.

I was walking along the road of the capital, it was dusk now. The capital that was filled with people and had a busy vibe to it. As it was nearly sun down, the streets had an alcoholic scent. Loads of people washing down their worries after a long day with beer and alcohol was not so out of the norm. On the other hand, the people's happy faces presented the peacefulness of the country.
Man, I really chatted for a long time there…
[Yeah…. Who knew you could even manage older women…]
I just felt like we could understand each other.. It's not like that okay?
[Hmm…. yeah that's how it all starts….]

The capital wasn't really that full of thugs but there were unruly adventurers. I even made some adventurers believe that it was their bad day while pulling the strings from behind. It was really fun playing the prank like a ghost. Apart from that, I saw some waitresses who heaved a sigh each time a drunkard was found unconscious and unable to make a commotion. I even snapped a guys arm with invisible miasma whips, the rascal was steadily going for waitress after waitress and groping their butts! I was so Jea.. .I mean I was so furious that he was doing that. well, the waitress had understood that I had done something, so she thanked me with a sweet drink.

it was quite late into the night, peoples dinner were probably done by now,

We were now in a restaurant. After running around in the capital, I got near a big and luxurious looking inn so I got myself a room. They also had a restaurant, so I was having my dinner here. I did try all the street food I saw around me, but with this body, I can scarf down more than enough food. In a way my food intake can relate to a bottomless pit. in any case, I have a lot of money, there was no need to be saving my money. thus the royal treatment
I ordered all their specials on the menu, since I won't be able to have another dinner here. I was planning to check out tomorrow morning. As I was alone and looked young, the waiter didn't believe I could eat that many orders but I insisted that it would be fine.
He then left me at my table and also got me some nice cold juice. since I looked young and was also young. Alcohol wasn't really given to me, so juice was fine. It was a mixed fruit drink, the sweet and sourness was very appealing to taste and before long, I found myself quenching my thirst with it.
"Wow, this is delicious!" the juice had such a sweet fruity smell, you couldn't get enough of it.
"Thank you sir. It's our specially made drink. There is also an alcohol version of it but sorry to say, we can't serve you since you're still underage." I complimented the drink. It wasn't too sweet or sour and it was really smooth to drink. The waiter was really smart looking and perceptive. I thought people wouldn't think much of me since I was just a kid but this inn's employees were the real deal; they were very professional. Even with Amanori at my back, they avoided talking about it as if it was not there at all. Not to mention, they didn't even ask if I could afford the stay here… although, I have kept up with noble etiquette and such, so it might have had an effect too.
(Rekka who looked more than suited to be Royalty should have no concern as to how people see him, with his long black hair tied into a ponytail and black outfit with a refined design that spoke of high quality. The waiters and the inn staff could only see him in awe. His features were in a world of its own. The individuality just bursting out of him, with that natural confidence to boot, he was someone who could walk into any place leaving onlookers in awe. Hardly he realized this though. Thus his concerns always lay uncalled for.)
"OOh.. well it can't be helped. Still I would love to procure some of that to take back for my grandparents.." I said since the juice was this great, the alcohol would be fine too and Granny was someone who liked alcohol very much even more than Gramps, so I should take some as a gift.
"Hmm… Yes you certainly can sir.. Just give us the order so we can prepare it…."
"That's great!….. Hmm ….. There's many people in the house. I should get plenty… say? Is this juice bottle and alcohol bottle the same…?"
"Yes sir.."
"Alright then get me ten of them… also get 5 non-alcoholic ones too."
"Since it's a big order, would sir want to get it parceled…?"
"Ooh… that won't be necessary, I can use storage magic."
The waiter was quite surprised at that. Maybe the sword on my back made him think I was a warrior and non magical type.
"Wow, that's amazing even for sir's age, I had thought only high level magicians could use those spells..!"

After our little discussion, the waiter brought out the dishes. There were 8 types of dishes, some looked like stews, some looked fried and I could even see some vegetable mix recipes. meat was the bulk of them but I saw some fish there too. Everything looked delicious and appetizing. The aromas were really nice too. really, there was never this much variety of taste in the edge of the world. again I realized just what hell I had over come.
Soon the table was filled with food and it was a lot! But for me it wasn't even a challenge. For some reason, I could eat 10 people's worth of food quite easily. This body of mine really had some great mysteries to it.
I dug in the food starting with a meat dish that looked to be beef ribs. In this dish, the meat was tender and juicy. It was a little spicy but overall it was great and the Smokey flavor felt so appealing to take in. As I fished through dishes, I saw that the cafeteria was getting empty. I did come a bit late for the dinner, but I heard that they serve food till midnight and people could drink all night. There were also separate booths for that too. if there was a booth for family and friends, next time I come here with others, I should take them with me there. although I wonder if the maids would still be dressed as maids back then?
Well this place had to be one of the high-rank places to stay soo, it was understandable. Customer service was some of the most crucial things for places like this…
"Hmm it was great..!" I rested on the chair after finishing the food and finally it was time for desserts. The waiter had said it was the chef's treat so I accepted it. It looked like milk based items and it was cooled in a way that would feel extra delicious to eat after all the salty and spicy dishes.
back in the Edge of the world, the only sweet I had ever tried was one of those fishes that were naturally sweet to taste, although it was not even close to being a sweet desert, I could at least say it was sweet... it was better than nothing I guess.
"The chefs have to be a genius to pair his dishes like this." I praised the chef. The waiter had brought my wine orders. I put them in my storage and prepared to pay.
"Thank you sir, our chef really is a good cook. He even got praised from our overlord one time for his delicious cuisine."
Hmm guess He really is the bigshot…
I paid with a platinum coin. It was equivalent to 10 gold coins. I heard that 10 copper coins were equivalent to 1 silver coin and 10 silver coins was equivalent to 1 gold.
Now since it took 2 to 4 copper coins for a single person to have dinner in a regular restaurant, and this restaurant being a luxury type hotel it could be said based on all the food I took, the bill was maybe 5 or more gold coins with all the drinks I had ordered.
"Keep the change…" I gave the remaining money to the waiter since he really did some good service there. He thanked me while gracefully bowing and I went towards the inn.
The dinner had made me feel as if I was already back to my first life… the feeling of eating out… It was as fun as it seemed.
