The next day. I was talking to Nova. "So Nova are we still going to re enact some old memories Today?" "Yes after breakfast I will see where they are." "OK cool. So they got in their vehicles and headed over. We let Nova's parents go first. They were already there before they found me.
We finally got to the beach, I stood there a moment to think. Then I headed down with my mom and dad. Once we got close to the ocean I took off my sandals and asked them the question. "Mom. Dad. I dove down and the ocean felt so good on my skin. Luckily I had my swim suit under my clothes. So I took my shirt and shorts off and dove down. 'Hmm that's strange. I can almost see underwater.' I thought to myself. Then I thought of something else like talking. All that did was fill me up with water and felt myself sinking. Since I can't control my power I kept sinking deeper.
"She has been gone to long." Said Nova. "I'm going to go find her." "Be careful Nova. You heard what I said." "Yes sir." He dove down and swam away. After swimming quite a bit he found her unconscious under water. He grabbed her then he lifted her up to the surface. She was really pale. As he was swimming her back he kept saying. "Don't you die on me Zee. Not after we found each other again. Please hang in there." They finally got to the shore and said, "She's not breathing." Then he did CPR and breaths. "Come on Zee! Don't you die on me!" Just as they were about to give up she coughed a mouth full of water. "Cough Cough" "Zee! Your ok! Thank God!" He gave her a hug like last time he saved her. "What the hell happened back there?" said Nova. "I know there is something my parents aren't telling me. No human is able to see underwater this clear without goggles. I felt like I could breathe as well but that just ended up filling my lungs with water. Looking at you Nova and your brother there is something similar in both your eyes that is like mine." "'Somebody Please tell me what am I? Who am I really? I can't take it anymore. If none of you can tell me I will take a boat out and leave." I said seriously. Then Nova spoke. We finally got to Nova and Teo's parents house and some flashbacks happened. Then I said, "Wait a minute." Then I looked around the area and saw my self playing with the two boys. "Lets go to the backyard. I need to see something." Nova and Teo nodded. "You guys can go inside." I said to mom, dad, and the other parents. They nodded and listened. Nova and Teo walked with me to the back yard.
"What is it? Are you remembering something?" Said Teo. "Yeah as we entered the gate memories were flashing back." When we got to the back yard more flashbacks came. I saw myself playing with a dog and a couple of boys we ran around playing tag with the dog and throwing a ball around as well. There was no grass it was all dirt. Then I saw a memory of us digging and burying something. I walked over to where my memory showed me then I was back to the present. It looked like no one has tried digging anything since then. "Hey Nova and Teo? What did we bury here?" "Oh your getting your memory back good." Said Nova. "We made a time capsule. When we were 6 years old. We were going to do it sooner but somebody decided to disappear. Want to do it now." Said Teo. "No not yet. First I want to find out who I am then we can unbury it ok?" Nova agreed. "Ok lets go inside. I need to know the truth." So we walked inside.
"Mom. Dad. Were back." Said Teo. We all sat on the couch and I was a little nervous. Its that feeling where you want to know who you are then again you don't cause It could be bad or weird. "I am sure you found out when you looked at us awhile ago. The way we moved like you said. We are from the same place you were. Don't worry we aren't siblings." Said Nova. "Ok then what are we? We can't be human." "Mom and dad? Can I tell them?" Said Nova. "That is up to Zee's parents." "May I?" "Yes go ahead." Said mother.
"Thank you. Zee when you noticed us, we noticed you. That you were one of us." I sat quietly really listening because I needed to know what the hell I am. Mom and dad brought us back to the beach. They stayed in the sand higher up so we can have time together. I had my swimsuit underneath again. Then Nova said, "Teo and I have been hiding our tail since you didn't know. Don't be shocked when you see it ok?" I nodded and let them go first. They Dove down then they flipped their tail. Now they looked shirtless and I was a little shy. Nova had a beautiful Sapphire blue tail and Teo had a beautiful Emerald green tail. I just smiled and wasn't shocked at all. Then I also dove down and came up. "So Nova. What color tail do you think I will have?" I asked curiously. "Well it depends on your genes. One of us could have taken after out father the other could have taken after mother. It depends on what colors the fins were down the line. Looking at you though it would be cool if you had a purple or light blue tail. What do you think Teo?" "I was thinking maybe a shade of green but who knows. If she is really from royalty her find could be a rare color. Like a light blue and purple mix. That would be awesome." "Wait if this is what I am then could that accident not be an accident. Could they have been after me from the start?" "Its possible Zee. Whoever it was could have found out what you were and tried to capture you." "I know you guys probably wouldn't know since you were born mermen. Did you research if it was painful for women to turn at that certain age?" "Well it said depending on the woman. Some do some don't." 'So what are the stages of turning?" "Well as you found out, you can see underwater. The next stage is your skin would get ichy then not long your tail would form. Once your skin gets ichy you should probably camp out on the beach. Once your skin gets ichy you have a day to get in the water or you will get sick. So I would suggest you stop working by then In fact the sooner you quit the better." "Hang on though. After I turn into a full mermaid how long do I have to stay in the water before I can come up to shore?" "About a year." "A year? Really?" "Yeah you have to get used to your new body and the water used to your mermaid form." Since I was already I was already 2 and my beother 1 we can already be on shore and go in whenever. When you have had your form for a year you can be out of the water for at least 2 hours then you have to go back in. After that year any water would be ok. "Ok we should be heading back to shore." Said Teo. As we were swimming, I felt a little pain. In my side. I jolted then tried to swim again to shake it off. "Nova. I think something is wrong with me. Argh." "Hang on you could be changing sooner than we thought. Lets go underwater It should make you less painful if you are changing." Said Nova. He cradled me then all 3 of us went down and Nova put an air bubble around me so I could breathe. "There you should be able to breath now." We sat down on a rock and I was still in pain. "You were right Nova she is changing look at her legs." Said Teo. "Damn so soon. Is it less painful Zee?" "Yes." I said in a straining tone. "Its still painful. Argh. How long does it usually last?" "Your almost there. Don't worry. The water speeds things up as well."
After a while she was fully done. The air bubble was still around her but she looked like she passed out from the pain. Nova made a nest under the ocean to make it comfortable for her. Teo helped. "Nova her fin." "Yeah I see it. She really is from royalty. I may not have a chance with her. Once she wakes up we need to see if her gills have formed. If not we have to keep the air bubble on and take her down after we let the parents know what's going on." "I'll go do that now. You stay with her Nova." "Ok thanks Teo." He swam up and went to the beach to tell them what is going on.
Zee was starting to wake up. "Hurry Teo. OH Zee your waking up good. How you feeling?" "Good I guess where am I?" "You are underwater. Look at your legs." "What? I'm a mermaid?" "Yes you turned sooner than we thought. After we take you to the king, I will have Teo go to the surface and call Revy letting her know she won't be able to see you for a year. Let me see your neck." I let him see both sides of my neck. "OK good. I can release the bubble." "Ok Zee you should be able to breathe now." I took a breath and could breathe underwater. "Awesome. Then I tried swimming around but I was going everywhere. Nova caught me. "Woah there. Easy. You need to practice." Finally Teo came back. "Ok I told the parents what is going on. I told them to go home. I'll call my parents when I need a ride that they wouldn't need to worry about Zee for at least a year." "Ok good. Now lets slowly get to the palace." Said Nova. "Haha did you really try swimming off Zee?" "Yes I did. Nova had to save me." "It happens with most females. Its ok."
