They were finally taking me to see the King of the ocean. I guess his name is Kei. I always liked that name. Nova and Teo both had my arm so I could practice swimming in my fin. "OK move your fin like this if you wand to go right. Move it like this if you want to go left." Said Nova. I did what he told me then I figured out how to go left right and so on. It would be awhile before we get to the King. "Oh I told mom if we aren't back in a day or two to give Revy a call. I told her before you asked. "Ok good. Either way she will know today." Said Nova.
As we were swimming around I saw some fish. I decided to see if I could talk to them. "Hello there." I said to a little fish. The little fish looked at me and smiled. "Hello what's your name." said the little fish. "My name is Zee." Then he ran to who I assumed was his mommy. Then the bigger fish came over. "Sorry about that. Anyway are you really Zee?" "Y-yes why? Did I do something wrong?" "No no dear. Welcome back to the ocean princess." "Me a Pr….Princess?" "Yes I'm sure these two didn't tell you?" "They said I was royalty because of my tail. That's it." "Oh I see you have the. King's beautiful tail." "Or really?" Then Teo cleared his thought. "I'm sorry Mrs. Fish. We are on the way to see the king." "Oh sorry we will let you get back. See you around princess." "Yes maam." So we swam on.
I asked the boys if it was natural to be able to talk to fish in the ocean. "Yes. Its normal for all mermen and mermaids to be able to talk to sea creatures. How do you expect to help them if you can't?" said Teo. "Oh ok thanks Teo." I said. So we swam and took a few breaks until we finally got to the palace.
We stopped far enough away we can see the palace. So we could talk first. "Ok so Don't be shocked but there will be mermen and mermaids staring at you because they most likely have heard you were coming back soon. After a year of being in the ocean, your father the king will want you to get married. If there is someone you like, he will put it into consideration when he meets the guy." Said Teo. "Geez. You make the king to be a scary guy at first. He isn't that bad. He knows who I am. I just want to say. I really like you Zee. If you want we can hang out at the palace and get to know each other." Said Nova. "Yeah I think that would be great Nova. Thank you for that and confessing. Lets see how a year goes then I will make my decision." "Oh and don't forget to bow to the king when you get there." "Yes Nova." So we swam on to the palace.
I saw the stares like I was warned and held on to Teo and Nova's arms. They felt my me squeezing and Nova put his hand on top of mine and said, "It will be ok Zee. I am here." "Y-Yeah thanks." "I'm here too." Said Teo. "Hehe thanks Teo. Now I feel better because of both of you."
We finally got to where we had to bow and so I followed what the boys did. "Greetings your majesty. I am Zee." "Rise you 3. Welcome home daughter." "Thank you, your majesty." I saw the king come and I got nervous. My breathing was a little shaky. "No need to be nervous Zee. No one here wants to hurt you. Well at the palace maybe." Said the King. "Your majesty? What should I call You?" "Oh you can call me Dad or majesty until you are comfortable." "Thank you. Your majesty." "OK Now why don't Nova and Teo show you around. You will relax today, then come see me again we will have a talk about what is to come." "Yes your majesty." I said. Then I noticed he looked at my tail. "I see you have almost the same tail as me. I just have a more teal and yours is more aquamarine. You have your mothers hair, and one of mine and your mothers eyes. OK go ahead and have fun. We will talk tomorrow so get some rest. You two take care of her and when you are done showing her around show her to her room." "Yes your majesty." They said.
"Wow this place is amazing! All the Mer-people have beautiful tails." I said. "Yes they do." Said Teo. They showed me around for awhile then it was time to show me where my room was. "Here is your room Zee." Said Nova. "Wow its beautiful. Thank you. You guys can come in if you want to talk. I have some questions." "Uh ok sure." Said Nova. They came into my room and I asked, "How do you know the king so well? I thought you just met him?" "Well about that. When we were old enough to know what our mission was, we went to the ocean to meet the king. Every once in awhile we gave him an update." Said Nova. "Oh that makes since. So I have to be here for at least a year huh?" "Yeah a year since you changed. Then you can go back to the surface anytime. Just remember to go into the water every 2 hours at the maximum. 1 hour at the minimum." Said Nova. "Ok we are going to talk to the king. Rest up ok?" "Yes thank you." "Oh yes and there might be a maid or someone to see how you are doing. So open the door ok? Unless it's a maid, me, Teo ok the king, don't answer the door ok?" "Yes Nova. Thank you both for helping me." They nodded then left. I crashed on the comfy bed made out of Sponge. My bed had a sheet on it from probably an old broken down ship also that is what my blanket is made out of. My pillow is a made out of seaweed and stuffed with Sponge as well like my bed. So comfortable. I closed my eyes and fell asleep pretty easy.
She was dreaming about what it would be like to be a mer princess. I was wonderful. She had Nova as her prince charming they had 4 kids 2 boys and 2 girls everything was happy. Uncle Teo loved the little ones and they jumped all over him. Then out of no where something with golden eyes looked like it was about to attack the kids so she jumped in to save them. That is when she woke up. "No! Ha….Ha….Only a dream. Thank goodness." Then she laid down until she calmed down. After awhile there was a knock on the door. (Knock Knock) "Who is it?" I said. "Its Nova." "Ok coming." I said. So I swam out and said, "What's going on?" "Oh yeah I haven't told you. Teo and I wanted to introduce our parents to you." "Oh is that so?" Then I got all nervous. "haha its ok. No need to be nervous. They are nice people."
"Ok here is our house." We swam in and Nova said, "Mom. Dad. This is Zee. The girl I was telling you about." "How do you do sir and maam." I said. "Oh no don't be so formal. My name is Marina. I am Nova and Teo's mother. This is my husband Edmar. He goes by Ed for short." "Oh mother I forgot to tell you. I haven't even told Zee yet. I talked to the king, he said after he is done talking to her, he is going to announce her and crown her princess of the ocean." Said Nova. "What? Are you serious?" I said. "Yes but you have to talk to the king first about what will happen and what your options are ok?" "Yes Nova." "Ok we better go now." "It was nice meeting you both." I said. "Nice meeting you too Zee." Said Edmar.
It was getting late, Nova and Teo took me to my room. "Wait! I need to tell you something Nova." Then I thought about it and said, "Never mind. Its not important." "Are you sure?" "Yeah its just a dream." "Ok then if you ever feel like telling me let me know ok?" I nodded. "Ok sweet dreams." Said Nova and Teo.
The next morning it was time for the meeting. Nova and Teo escorted me. "Hello your majesty. I bowed." "Rise Zee my daughter." "Your majesty? Before we get into this, I would like to ask you something." "Anything you wish to ask I will try to answer. I am sure you have many questions but ask a few." "Yes your majesty." "I hope you can ask a personal question. You don't have to answer if you don't think I am ready." He nodded. "What happened to my mother?" The 3 were shocked for a moment even though they knew it was going to come eventually. "She is not a mermaid." Said the King. "Your mother was a witch. A good one just so you know." "Was? What do you mean? What happened to her?" "We don't know Zee." Said Nova cutting in. The king let him. "Your mother had just officially healed after giving birth to you and then she went missing. No one knows what happened to her." I looked at my father and he nodded in agreement. "Your majesty? May I ask you something else?" He nodded. "Before I make a decision to be a princess of the ocean, I would like to go on a journey to find my mother." This king thought for a minute. Then he said, "Ok I agree on 2 conditions.1 Be careful and bring those two with you and 2 to do a 1 year trial of being a princess of the ocean. You can't do anything until your time is up in the ocean so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity." I looked at the boys. They nodded. "O-ok sure." "If it's the marriage thing you are worried about, don't worry. I have already talked to Nova. He would be your assigned person." "What? Wait. Who said I liked him like that? I still haven't remembered much about him. Only a few things." "Well you have a year to do it. If you are going to be a princess you have to marry whoever you father decides." "Yes. Your majesty. (Sigh)" "After I announce you as temporary princess, I will have you meet some important people then I will have you go into the village and meet the people." "Yes. Your majesty. Oh before you announce me as temporary princess, I need to tell you about one more thing." "I need to talk alone if you don't mind?" "Sure." He looked at the boys and they nodded. So they went out and I told him about the dream I had. "I see. Are you sure that is what you saw?" "Yes all I saw was golden eyes and looking like it was going to attack my kids so I jumped in and that's where I woke up." "Well your mother did tell me something about her before we married. You said you were on land when this happened right?" "Yes I did." "Well she told me when she was young, she made a pact with someone. She regretted it and there is no way out as far as she know. The reason she regretted it is because when she made a pact it was at night. At night she didn't want me to come out to see her. One night I was in the ocean I saw her. It was at night. I didn't know what she was and she didn't either. It was a mixture of wolf and fox. She was afraid she would attack me if she saw me. That is why she didn't wish for me to see. The next morning I went to see her. I told her what I saw. She was afraid because she thought I would hate her. I said, I love you not matter what you are. I can learn to deal with whatever it is that is going on. She was so happy. A year after we got married and a year after that we had you." "So you and mom had me a year after marriage then mom disappeared. You said she is like a wolf type creature?" "Yes a wolf fox like creature." "Hmm. You have a library here right?" "Yes we do. After We announce you and you meet everyone you are free to roam around." "Thank you your majesty." "Sure. I hope it won't take long for calling me father or dad." "We will see how long it takes. I have a year right? It might change who knows." Then I followed my father to be announced.
"Ladies and gentleman. I would like to announce my daughter has returned. She will be doing a trial run for a year. So please make her feel at home. Announcing Princess Zee Azul Keel." Then everyone cheered. Then I was supposed to make a speech and everyone calmed down. "Thank you. I am new to all of this since I have heard recently about what I am. I didn't believe it at first. Then these two. Nova and Teo please come up." They came up and waved. "These two helped me. I learned there mission was to watch over me and protect me from any danger. I hope they will continue to watch over me. As for all of you I promise to do my best to do what is right for the kingdom. Not just the kingdom, but the whole ocean. I hope all of you will help me as well since I am new to all of this. I thank you all." Then I stepped down and made a relief sigh. (Sigh) "Ok Your majesty. Lets go meet these people in person and the village." I followed him to meet the board at first then the other important people. Then it was time to go to the village. Nova and Teo were allowed to go with me since they live there as of the moment. After I met the villagers and had a good time I was exhausted. The boys saw it. I was about to float down when the boys caught me. They took me to my room and laid me down. "Sorry about this boys. I never thought it would be this tiring." "Its ok Zee. Its not the first time. Don't worry." Said Nova. "Rest ok? We will check on you in a little while." I nodded then closed my eyes.
It was getting around dinner time. Zee was just waking up. "What? I slept this late. Oh no!" Then there was a knock on my door. (Knock Knock) "Who is it?" "Its Teo. You ready for dinner?" "Yes I'm coming." I swam out and said, "Where is Nova?" "Oh he is doing something for the king as of the moment. He will be a little bit late to dinner." "Oh ok."
I sat at the table, the king said a few words then it was time to eat. After we started eating for a bit I saw Nova. He spoke to the king about something then came and sat by me. "Hey Zee. Feeling better?" "Yes I didn't realize I slept so late." "Its fine. You were really exhausted. We had a doctor check on you to be sure you were ok." "Sorry I worried you." "Hey its fine."
