"You will regret being so confident one of these days Helen but maybe that's one of the things Eli likes about you. That very same confidence will disappear the longer you stay with Eli. I'm not the bad guy here Helen. I am protecting you in a way while I am trying to protect my son. You have no idea what you're getting into," Elaine stated, reaching over to grab Helen's hand but she pulled it back. So much for being comforting.
"It doesn't seem to me like you are protecting Eli at all. You force him to be around Charles who he doesn't like for the record if you have not noticed that yet. You try to force him to be with a woman of your standard when you seem to be in a forced relationship yourself and look how that turned out. You invite him to places with a bunch of people he also dislikes. I've only known Eli for six months, Elaine, why does it feel like I know him more than you?"
Not once had Helen seen Elaine do something just for Eli.
