We entered the house with almost no obstacles except for a tile in front of his house that we almost stepped on . After the tile , it was the door so Fredrick wouldn't be able to see if we were still there . In case he had seen us coming , Jay put one foot on the tile and took it back swiftly , only to see the tile go crushing down . We would've died if it wasn't for Jay .
"Oh my god ! Thank you , Jay !"
Jay didn't respond . He ignored us and only waved his hand towards him from us showing his back towards us , gesturing to follow him . In between all the weeks that we had talked , he wasn't the type to ignore us . Am I trusting him way too much ?
I realised that I hadn't checked whether his story was legit through magic . It wouldn't hurt to do a last minute check , right ? "Hey Jay ! Wait up !" I ran over to him and held his hand with the intention of knowing his story . Pictures started flashing in front of my eyes again . It was really fast , since I hadn't done this for quite some time . He was a boy . Normal . Now , a teen . Normal . He had his carving with him . Normal . He had used his carving . Ok ? Just because he hadn't told us that doesn't mean he is lying , right ? Fredrick was surrounded by Jay's demon . What ! The demon consumed him . Fredrick was now under the control of Jay . Jay handed over his own carving to him and Fredrick kept it in his pant pockets .
He was the boss of Fredrick . He knew about Leah not because Fredrick had told him when he came back five years later , but because it was him that ordered Fredrick to capture Leah .
I came back to my normal sight and looked at Jay . He was spying on us before so when I asked Marge , Nath , to go to Jay's house , I only gave him more ways to spy on us . He could track our movements 24/7 without having to seem suspicious . We fell for his story . We had come until now . I decided not to tell the others about any of what I had found . Playing along with Jay , I wanted to know what he had kept in store for us .
We went inside and walked through the familiar hallways . Was his main objective to get back Leah ? I looked over towards her , who looked happy to tag along with us . Have I told you guys about my problem of forgetfulness ?
Well , I guess having too much on your mind does things to your brain . When the door opened to the room where Fredrick usually sits , there sat Jennie .
"Hello ! My saviour !" I thought that she was just another person playing fraud and was on Jay's side at first until I saw Jay's reaction . His shocked face showed that he had not expected the arrival of Jennie . I couldn't decipher whether he already knew Jennie or not .
"Hey Jennie ! Where were you ?!" I wanted to tell her this but I wanted to know how Jay would react to this first . In order to let Jennie know that everything was fine , I retreated a little more behind Jay and showed her thumbs up . later pointing towards Jay . The others didn't know why I was silent but I turned back swiftly and told them to stay silent with gestures , which they soon understood .
Jay responded to her as if she was her long lost soulmate . "Hey there ! Long time no see . Where did you go ?"
The moment he talked like that , another surprise awaited me . From behind a huge statue came Maria . "What are you doing here , Maria ! " I shouted at her and ran to her . Knowing who were on which side was difficult . I should've checked Jay's reaction first because he was smiling at Maria . Or at Fredrick . The demon in Fredrick's body made him shape shift into my won friend . I probably couldn't sense the supernatural presence when I saw Fredrick because demons are controlled by a different person . Fredrick , as well as Jay as it seemed , seemed to still not know that I was Berthim . Couldn't they sense magic too ?
Maria to Fredrick . The body had changed and he had stabbed me in my stomach . I stood still . Blood splattered on the floor . But wait no . Fredrick wasn't done yet . He almost finished drawing a deep circle on my stomach when Cora got her reflexive senses back and cast a spell leaving Fredrick in the air . I fell to the ground , filled with pain . Jennie ran to me . "How d-do I know that you're not an illusion too ?"
He probably wouldn't pull the same trick twice but I didn't want to take a chance . "A man almost raped me and you killed him with neck snap . Is that evidence enough ?" She asked me while trying to make me stand back on the ground . Ben was full on anger and attacked Jay . Jay didn't have his carving the and could do nothing but to try and fight back with his human power . "Fred , where's the carving ?" Jay asked while grunting and gasping from pain . "Sorry sir , but it had been hidden somewhere dangerous . I hid it so that no one will come to contact with it except you ."
Fredrick looked proud but from Jay's face , I knew that he had done the wrong thing . That was the last thing I saw before loosing consciousness .
