"Hello , Rene . Can we talk in private for a second ?" Cora asked as soon as dad left for the kitchen halfheartedly to get some drinks for her because he couldn't hear what I was about to tell him completely . "Ummm..Sure ! Why not ?" She took me to my own room and sat down on my bed .
"Why are you not suspicious of me when you know that I am also possessed by a Kitsune?" She asked as soon as I locked the bedroom door . "Well , shouldn't you be having a dark aura if you were possessed by a bad Kitsune ?" I did all I could to look clueless to what she was saying .
"Well , Bad Kitsune's can also cat like they are good ." Was she trying to blow her own cover right now ? If she comes out of her cover , then I'll have no way of contacting Jed before he leaves for Georgia with her this week . Then that would mean that I would need all of her corporation to get her but unless she wants us to find Beth , we won't have any choice . "Are you saying that we should be suspicious of you too ?"
She shook her head instead of giving me a no . "You should've been suspicious of me before . My husband knows that supernatural creatures are real now . He noticed small changes in my behaviour that he researched a lot about supernatural stuff . He had been calling me home to summon the Kitsune in me out of my soul and it worked last night . I could kind of rewind what happened after I got possessed but this time , I could hear what you all talked silently too . You knew that I was a traitor but then why didn't you confront me about it ?" She looked hurt , almost but I didn't know why .
"Where's Beth ? I know that you found her for real . I want to see her . " I took her downstairs into the guest room that Beth was resting . Because of Jed's torture while she was captured, her shoulder joints where damaged and she needed a lot of bed rest . I opened the guest room door and let Cora inside . "Oh my god ! What have I done to you ?" Tears fell continuously from both Cora's and Beth's eyes .
She tried getting up from bed but fell back down due to lack of enough rest . "Bethy, I know a way for the possessing Kitsune to leave our body . I promise that once you're fine , I'll make it go away from your body ."
Beth held Cora's hand to assure her that she was okay with it . I let them alone because they were literally showing me that they needed some alone time .
When I went back to dad , he was in the kitchen , thinking about something deeply. "Dad ? Dad !" I waved my hands in front of him and he looked at me . "So she was the Nogitsune ." I was in between beyond confused yet understood what he meant by that completely . "Did you overhear us talking dad?" He looked down, letting me know the answer without having to bother him to talk it out loud .
"I'm sorry but I couldn't help but listen when she started talking about Kitsunes . " I could understand him since he was kept in the dark for quite some time so I explained everything to him more clearly . Now that I had told him everything I knew , I felt like our bond was back again . "Tomorrow is the day that Jed and Cora was supposed to leave for Georgia so we need to have a plan to capture him. He's my next mission."
Nathaniel came over sometime after . Me , Cora , Nathaniel , and I gathered around together in our living room again . It was easily decided that Cora would act like she was going to go along with Jed's plan until the last moment , where we planned to snatch him from his car . It was a pretty simple plan and that's why it became easy for the plan to fail . We have to be ready at all times for any change of plans .
The next day , we left early in the morning to the location that Jed and Cora had originally planned on meeting up . Of course , Cora went alone , with her hair down all the way , hiding an earpiece in between . We waited at a location which was a little bit further from the exact location . "H-Hello ? Can you guys hear me ? Jed hadn't arrived yet ." It was Cora reporting to us after the first ten minutes at the location . About five minutes later , Jed arrived .
"Oh , hey Cora ! Hope I didn't leave you waiting for a long time ." We could hear clearly through the earpiece . The sound of their car door opening and closing was heard too . The car started driving . We waited for the car to arrive at our place . "So , Where's Beth ?" Cora asked .
"She's already reached our place when I went to check our place out ." He was great at lying . I couldn't believe that he had me fooled for a loyal and caring boss. Even if he was actually looking forward to making the murderers of his family , he shouldn't go this far by making many other people hurt .
"Shouldn't we have turned right ?" She was slightly worried .
"Oh , I didn't want anybody knowing our route so I changed it . "
Shit. We had to move faster . The guns and aim we had arranged accurately was all in vain . Gathering everything that we had kept in place , We ran to our car and headed the other way .
I didn't think that there was no way that we would be able to catch up to them so after a quite some time , I used my powers again . "Let me drive this time , Nathaniel ." I took control of the wheel and slowed the time down . It was a little bit strange , since I hadn't used it for some time but I managed anyways .
"Let's catch up properly , Jed ." I sped up the car .
