He got settled in S city and my life came back on its track.. He informed me about his life there through texts and mails frequently in the beginning but as he got busy these texts and mails got lesser and lesser and finally reduced to nil. I also got busy with my final year so I didn't complain. And then my life took a serious turn when my father lost his everything... At that time I need someone to console me. I was struggling between my studies and my family. It's almost the time for my final exams and I was not able to focus on my studies. I didn't made any notes and there's not enough time to revise everything.
I wasn't able to think of any solution... Finally I thought of calling him.
"Hello... Zayden... are you free" I asked.
"Yes... Zumar... how are you..?" he asked.
"I am fine, could you please help me with your notes... can I have them if you don't mind..." I didn't beat around the bush and asked directly...
"Yes, why not... you can collect it from my mom... I will tell her where I kept the notes..."
"Thanks... then I am hanging up.." I said
"Ok do well in your exams.." he said and cut the call.
In the evening I went to his home and asked about the notes...
"I didn't find any notes in the place he told me..." His mother looked at me wierdly and said in a rude tone..
"But he said.. he didn't gave it to anyone... Auntie can you please check it once more I need it very urgently... Let me help you to find " I requested her.
"No need Zumar... I have already searched... And listen don't call my son again and again to disturb his studies... Why didn't you studied on time... now coming to us in the last moment..." I don't understand why she behaved so rudely... I thought she might be upset for some reason and thus I came back...I wasn't mature enough to understand that she was trying to ignore us because of my father's condition.
As I didn't have any choice I called him again to inform that I didn't got his notes but he rejected my call, I thought he might be busy in class so I waited and again called him in the evening. he again rejected my call. I felt that something was not right. Finally I texted him.
"Zayden... sorry for disturbing you but let me inform you that I didn't got your notes.."
"Zumar... I think I can't help you..." he texted back... this is the last message that I got from him. no sorry....nothing. This was the message from the one who once promised me to be his best friend for a very long time...
this was the message from the one who said before leaving that he will miss me...
I realised... not only my father lost everything... but I also lost something very precious. Because of that accident these people started to ignore us .. they showed their true colours....
But anyhow I managed to clear my exams with good marks. All thanks to Aani and her family they helped me a lot during the worst years of my life. I even cleared the University entrance with good grades but was not able to get admitted to medical college because of the financial conditions of my family and then we sold all our assets and shifted to A city. Only Aani knew about our new address. But I never try to contact him after that day... l loved him with whole of my heart but I can't loose my self-respect for that...
I joined bachelor's course in the top University of City A and got scholarship but even then I struggled hard all those years to help the family in that financial crisis. But all those struggles changed me into a very different lady. I was not silent or introvert anymore instead I became a bold and independent lady. I was intelligent from the beginning but then I started focusing on grooming my personality and appearance and finally I was able to settle everything. My family again gained back everything we had lost... I wasn't able to fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor but still I am satisfied... I am working for the topmost company of the country and that also on a reputable post. Both my brother and sister are settled.. Now it's time to show those who looked down on us...
