I was not able to sleep untill the last hours of the night. I woke up again after few hours on the call of my mother... I didn't realised I slept quite long and it's only 30 minutes left for my office... I left my bed at once and hurried to the washroom. My clothes were already prepared I got ready and took my car keys...
"Zumar.... Come for the breakfast fast..." Mom called.
"I am getting late... I grabbed one sandwich and rushed towards my car..." I looked at my watch.. still fifteen minutes were left. My office is at 10 minutes drive not far from my home so I can easily manage to get there on time. I reached my office building and see the watch once again... I was just on time I took the lift and then head on to my office.... I placed my things there and then called my secretary to bring me a cup of coffee.. Because of improper sleep I was having splitting headache.. I had an important meeting in an hour so I had to prepare for that as well.. I cursed Zayden in my heart. After all these years he was still the one who could distract me. I hate this feeling. I cursed him some more and then focused my attention on my work....
"Zumar... check these files for the meeting..." Yahaan came to my office..
"What happened to your eyes...? he looked towards me.. didn't you slept well..." he asked.
"Yes, only for few hours... "
"Were you thinking about me...? Zumar it's ok.. I know I am handsome.. but that doesn't mean you lose your sleep thinking about me..." he admired himself looking at his reflection iin the French window of my office...
"I don't understand why people nowadays kept on bragging about themselves..." I commented on one more narcissist in my life.
"Miss Zumar, you are the only who didn't realised my importance... otherwise girls always wait for me in ques just to take a look of my handsome face..." he again bragged.
"That's really great... please go and attend your girls and excuse me... I need to focus on my work... thankyou so much..." I send him out of my office.
Yahaan... he is my college friend... truly a good friend like Aani. I met him during my freshman year in bachelor's and soon we become close. Aani left for City S to join the same University with Tahaan so I didn't had any company when I met him.... He was the most cheerful guy I ever met in my life. He had a sunny personality. He always made me smile with his everyday jokes. He was full of life a beautiful person outside and inside as well. I was truly blessed to have such a wonderful friend. He was the one who insisted me to do my Masters in Management and we both joined this company together and that's how we were together for last six years.
I finished my meeting and head back to the office when I saw a box of my favourite snacks on my table with a slip on it .. "I knew you didn't had your breakfast... help yourself..." I smiled and opened the box... I had my fill as I was really hungry. After that I got busy with my work.
Life was going on very smoothly, we all were busy with our work. It's the time for year end meeting. We all were waiting for our bonuses and rewards for our performance. I have been working here for almost an year and I really liked everything here, the colleagues, office environment, management everything... Seniors are co operative else it was not easy to work in corporates. Working hours are quite flexible and they provide all kinds of trainings and facilities for improving the efficiency of the workers.
As ours is a multi national company. Every year few employees get the opportunity to train and work in other countries as well. This year they are planning to send the employees to France, so everyone was working efficiently to gain this opportunity. As I am new here so I stand nowhere to get this chance so I didn't gave any Importance to that, all I was waiting for my year end bonus so that I can plan my next trip. Because of Yahaan, I took interest in travelling and exploring new places. He loved traveling and took me with him for few trips during our Bachelors and that's When I started liking it. Now I keep on planning for my next trip whenever I find myself free.
