Chapter 17 - Their Fault Not Hers

Their Fault Not Hers

"How am I looking?"

The girl twirled in her mermaid gown.

"It looks beautiful but something is missing." The girl's mother told her.

"Do you have some other dresses?" Her mother asked the shop worker who had been assigned to them.

The worker asked the mother daughter pair, "We have but Ma'am may I know what type you want? It would be quite easier then for us."

"I want something unique that no one could take their eyes off of me. It should be drop dead gorgeous and sexy. Also don't come with dresses that have many layers. It's really hard and exhausting to manage them." The girl informed the worker about her likes and dislikes for the type of dresses.

"I got you, Miss. I'll be back in a while, in the meantime you can try on other dresses." The female attendant bowed and left from there.

As the attendant took her leave, the girl's shoulder slumped down. The smile on her face fell. Her face morphed into a sneer.

She sat on the couch.

She displayed her dissatisfaction, "Mom, why are we looking for the dresses here? Haven't I told you about what I want to wear for the occasion?"

"Babygirl, I know and I do remember all. But you should know that with our current situation. I can't fulfill that demand of yours." Her mother gave her a bottle of water and wiped the sweat beads on her forehead with a tissue.

The girl's face was caked up with the makeup contorted into fury and irritation.

'Why should I suffer for you and dad's mistake? It was you both who didn't know how to manage and save money for the future. But here I am sitting in this low level shop, wearing these cheap looking clothes. I have to face all because of your fault.' She was blaming her parents for everything she was feeling and she had to go through.

The shop she called low was the second most popular for the those who got categorised in between the low and high classes, the middle class. Therefore it couldn't stand a chance in front of the shops that only sold the dresses couture handmade and designed by the designer.

They even specially ordered dresses by the customers. Their showroom was filled with the best quality clothes and accessories.

Still the girl preferred to name it as a low level since she was used to having custom made dresses from the World's top designers.

Instead she had to come and choose a gown for herself from a shop as she couldn't afford a custom made gown with her current situation.

The financial crisis had hit their family hard. It wasn't one's doing but a collective result of their greed. The discrimination and bad treatment they gave to those who were below them in the food chain.

For her, parents should provide and fulfill their kid's demands and necessities. If they can't then they should give their children up for adoption.

Her mother knew about her daughter's short tempered and aggressive nature.

She held her daughter's hand, "Babygirl, I know what you are feeling. I can see from your dull looking eyes. I am your mother and I could see through you. Just bear it for now. After this is over and we get back to our original prestige. I would buy you the best dresses from the top brands."

Her daughter reluctantly agreed with her mother.

"You have to keep in mind that the upcoming occasion is very important for you as well as us, if we want our luxurious life back. Till then no one should know about our plans."

"Yes, mommy. I'll be careful. I can't have anyone spoil our perfect plans. It will be the end for me."

The duo talked about their plans in a whispering manner.

"GUYS!! LISTEN TO ME NOW!!"

Ines clapped her hands to get everyone's attention on her.

Their eyes moved to her.

Girls were having confusion written on their faces. They didn't understand what Ines had to say in the middle now.

"Since, all of you are focusing on me. I want to offer some deals to the boys." Ines's words boomed in the silent parking area. Her eyes watched them all.

Caleb went to stand in front of her. He folded his arms on his chest.

He said, "I am fed by these two acting like kids. So I am interested in your talk, tell us what you have in mind."

"You don't wanna know how badly I want to beat both of them." The girls could feel the goosebumps.

Boys weren't different, they thought that they were standing in the north pole.

Ines not only caught the attention of all but also Rev who engrossed in his own thoughts.

He unclenched his fists. The volcanic eruption of the emotions in him seemed to cool down. The hot blood that kept flowing in his veins at an unrealistic speed, slowed.

His palms had turned red due to the force applied by him when he clenched them.

Rev looked up from his hands to the sole cause of the burning flames in his eyes. He gazed at her with hidden fervour. His intense stare made Aza feel uncomfortable, but she really didn't like it if someone kept gazing at her in that way.

'Why is he peeping at me? Ugh… What's with these strange things? Why can't I dislike his stare?'

Then this time, it was Aza who held his stares.

The fire in Rev's eyes subsided, their staring competition was only interrupted by Ines.

'I should stay away from him. He screams danger.' Aza decided.

Rev smirked when he saw her swiftly turning, 'I wanted to stare at for a little longer. Seems like I will have to wait for others to be with the current issue.'

His thoughts surprised him. He looked at her once more before he, too, rotated his eyes.

Ines continued, "First, let's call it a truce and forget about what happened here.

Second, we girls are ready to cover all the expenses. Or the last thing we can do is, leave your car and a phone number with it.

We can get the car and it's damages fixed up and can deliver it to you later. These are the only possible things. Rest assured that after you choose any of my offers, none would try to cause trouble."

Caleb could see the confidence radiating from her when she explained her offer to him and confirmed that it was the only way out of the issue they had in their hands.

If it was his car then he won't even have to stay and wait till now. However, it wasn't.

Xavier had the highest rights to have a say in before Caleb could accept the girl's offers. It was his car, a precious baby who he never let anybody harm.

"Well, I do really like your deal yet it's not me who should like it. It's my friend who actually has the biggest say in this matter." Caleb calmly told her.
