"The GG Modeling was starting to create their own name in the modeling industry. They have enhanced and educated their models really well. Three of their models were selected by big names clothing companies and the top-ranked fashion designers."
Whifler yawned for the nth time while dazedly looking at the screen projector and keeps on changing his sitting position, shrugging off his drowsiness... Meetings really made him sleepy. Seemed like he was listening to a bedtime story.
He glanced at Tristan who was now busy scribbling something on the paper, as if he was taking down notes. Well, if you will literally stare at him, you'll know his ears were closed for the speaker in front.
Instead of returning his attention to the person discussing, Whifler chose to watch Tristan. He was trying to guess what he was writing about, following the strokes of his pen.
Whifler was just observing Tristan's movement... Every arched of his brows while tapping the pen onto his palm, the way he looked up when thinking and his idiotic nodding when the speaker's eyes landed on him, pretending that he was agreeing to what he was saying though he didn't actually pay any attention to everything he discussed.
After 2 hours, finally, their boring meeting was done, but both of them had no idea what did the discussion in the meeting was about.
"You didn't listen, were you?" Whifler asked as they entered the elevator, he then clicked the button for the ground floor.
"Yes, I didn't. I know you will reiterate it to me later"
Whifler averted his gaze at what Tristan said. How would he do that? Even he, wasn't listening to their conference...
Whifler just cleared his throat, thinking about who to ask about it. Maybe, secretary Lim has the record of it. Yes. He should probably ask him later...
When they arrived at the leisure room, Tristan was slightly shocked as he opened the door and saw Summer sitting next to Tanya.
"Oh. Here they are." Tanya smiled while Summer formed a nervous smile on her lips.
"Why? Was she waiting?" Whifler asked in confusion with a bit tone of irritation, then went to the water dispenser at the left corner of the room.
"Obviously." Tanya rolled her eyes. "But she wasn't waiting for you. Duh"
"Did I say she was?"
"Yeah. Your tone the way you asked."
"Sheesh. I wasn't the one assuming then, it's your misinterpretation. I knew she was just waiting for Trish. I'm not dumb." Whifler deadpanned.
Tanya raised her right brow. "Whatever!"
"Cut it out, you two!... Anyway, were you hungry? I ordered a king-size pizza. I guess it will arrive soon" Summer butted in while scanning her phone, checking the time.
"That's great! The meeting starved me like hell!" Tristan annoyingly sighed.
"I don't like onions, what did the flavor you ordered?"
Summer looked at Tanya. "Oh. Beef Mushroom"
"Mushroom? I hate mush—" Tristan was shut as Whifler threw his empty cup into his face, he then widened his eyes to give him signals but Tristan just glared at him.
Trish extremely like Beef Mushroom pizza, that she could eat the whole king-size... I guess, you already understand what Whifler meant.
Summer confusedly glanced at Whifler after he threw the cup, then stared back at Tristan.
"You, what?"
She wasn't sure if she heard Tristan's unfinished sentence right or misinterpreted it.
"U-Uh... Summer! Why are you here?" Whifler asked, diverting the topic.
"That's rude to ask, Raj!"
Whifler's eyes narrowed, unamused at Tanya.
"Will you stop talking, please?"
"Tss. Stop talking rudely, too!"
"I did not! You just assumed I was!"
"Because you truly are!"
"You probably need to fix your ears."
"Your attitude should be, not my ears."
"Look who's talking."
"Excuse me?!"
"Hey. Hey! Enough. Why are you so sensitive?" Tristan meddled, he couldn't stand Whifler and Tanya's squabble anymore. Also, Summer.
"You two really like to quarrel over nonsense things, don't you?"
"She started it" Whifler calmly responded to Tristan while pointing at Tanya.
Tanya was about to react but Tristan threw the cup at her that Whifler has thrown to him earlier.
"Enough, I said."
They all looked at the door when someone knocked and opened it after. A woman staff—wearing an office blue blouse paired with a black skirt and an I.D. hanging around her neck—came in.
"Uhm. Excuse me, ma'am and sir... Who ordered a pizza? The delivery man was waiting outside." The staff smiled.
"Oh!" Summer quickly checked her phone. There were 2 missed calls and a text displayed on her phone's screen.
"Ghad! I accidentally muted my phone... I will go out now, thank you" Summer smiled at the staff then went outside with her.
"I'll go get drinks, too" Tanya also followed the two outside.
Tristan's right brow raised as he realized Whifler's stare. "What?"
"You were busy sketching something during the meeting. What was it?"
Tristan flinched. "Y-You don't need to know!"
"That made me think it more suspicious. Tell me what it is"
"I told you. You don't need to know!"
"Tristan..."
Whifler gave him a warning tone and intimidating glare. Tristan instantly averted his gaze then cleared his throat. Whifler's aura was a little scary for him.
"A-ahm... I was... I was just writing down my plans"
"Plans? For what?"
Tristan looked at Whifler with a curious expression written on his face.
"Did you know there's a room on the second floor of Trish's house?"
"A room?" Whifler's forehead knitted. "No... I never went upstairs. Why?"
"She forbid everyone to enter that room. And don't you wonder, the house was two-story but we're only using the first floor."
Tristan's revelation caused a huge puzzlement to Whifler. His knitted forehead wrinkled even more and his thoughts were infected by Tristan's curiousness.
"Mysterious, right? I think even mom didn't know about it."
"Oy. What are you whispering there?" Tanya suddenly asked as she came in with Summer. They both put down the tray of drinks and the box of pizza they were holding on the center table.
"We're just talking about food."
Whifler perceived Summer's constant glance at them while preparing the food. Whifler could sense the irritation in her gaze but he also noticed her unwillingness to make it patently obvious.
Tristan on the other hand was having a hard time. He's battling himself whether to ask for another food or just eat a slice of pizza. But if he did, Summer will surely wonder.
Well, actually, his two choices would make her wonder either way. Trish really loves the flavor, so it was undeniably questionable if he will only eat one slice. Plus, they already know how many slices that Trish could consume. 'Damn. It!'
"Trish? Why aren't you eating yet?" Summer asked as she sat beside him while munching.
"Oh. Uhm. I was praying. Hehe. Bon appetit!" Tristan picked a slice and ate it immediately with a wide smile but honestly... He was dying inside.
Whifler and Tanya stared at him until he finished the pizza, of course, while holding back their laughter. Because, unlike Summer, they knew Tristan hate it. They really enjoy watching him suffer, weren't they? Hahaha!
As time goes by, Whifler has gotten more and more irritated. Why wouldn't he? Summer always snatching Tristan that he couldn't even say a word to him.
He didn't understand whether Summer was just teasing him or she really was teasing him.
"What is her problem?!" Whifler asked in annoyance after Summer snatched Tristan for the nth time from him and was now outside.
They were just whispering about work when Summer suddenly pulled Tristan and dragged him outside.
"I don't know" Tanya responded, playing with her phone.
"Oy! Did you two plan this to annoy me, huh!"
"Ts. Now you're accusing me. I didn't do anything. She was just the one acting odd."
Whifler paused. "Now you mention it. Was it just me who couldn't remember or was she really like this before?"
"Of course not... I know she was closer with Trish, but she never meddled nor pulled Trish away from you when you're talking until today" Tanya answered, still focused on her phone.
"You're right... She was here more often than usual, too... Did she lose all of her screws now?" Whifler scratched his temple.
Meanwhile, Tristan was befuddled while being towed.
"Summer. Summer..." Tristan stopped walking that also ceased Summer from dragging him. "What's going on?"
Summer slowly turned to face him, still holding his hand.
"Ah... N-Nothing..."
"Really? You've been acting weird... Are you sure it's nothing?"
Summer became silent for a moment. She started to fiddle her fingers while biting her lower lip. Her chest tightened and the liquids in her eyes were about to fall.
"Summer?"
There... Summer couldn't hold it back anymore. Hearing Tristan's soft voice, her body trembled and the emotions she was suppressing poured...
"I... I..."
Summer lifted her head and revealed her wet eyes that bowled him over.
"I... I'm sorry... I'm sorry"
"Hey. Hey. What is really wrong with you? What's the matter?" Tristan worriedly held Summer's shoulders which were now bouncing while she's letting out her sobs. "Why are you crying?"
Summer drooped her head down.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry"
"Sorry, for what?" Tristan was completely confused.
He was now questioning himself. Did he make her cry? Why was she apologizing? Did she do a mistake or something that would upset him?
"I... I... I'm sorry... I'm sorry!" Summer cried.
"Alright. Alright. Hush now, please... I don't know why you're apologizing but it's fine. I accept it"
"No... You don't understand... I... I tried to hide it. I want to ignore it but I just can't... I can't... I'm so weak... I'm sorry..."
Tristan's brows furrowed.
"Ignore? Ignore, what?... Summer. Look at me... Look at me"
Tristan supported Summer's chin and pushed it upward to make her face him.
"Tell me. What is it? What's the problem?"
Tristan rested down his hand. His forehead wrinkled as Summer turned her face away. She closed her fist and sighed several times, trying to muster her courage.
When she assured herself that she was brave enough and calm, Summer slowly looked at Tristan with overflowing emotions seen in her eyes.
"I... I like you"
