Instead of teasing her and risking being late, Brandon's mother asks her to change behind the folded screen at a dark corner of the room. She doesn't complain and does as she's told, swiftly changing into the kimono.
It would've taken much longer if she isn't familiar with her traditional dresses, although the process is shortened with extra help from Brandon's mother to doll her up.
"Thank you," she says while her hair is being done. Emilia and Emory sit on the bed across from her, invested in a conversation that is yet to begin. "Actually, I didn't even think about not having a costume to wear until Hinata gifted this to me—and I can't believe the moment has finally arrived where we get to experience the Hoshi-matsuri."
"I can feel your excitement," Brandon's mother remarks. "Emilia, Emory, could you go outside and make sure your brother and father are ready? And make sure the gentleman isn't having any problems either."
